- Heidi SPharr, Texas68 contributionsMore Reviews of Club Maeva Miramar Tampico BeachfrontPROS: We only stayed for the night and booked this stay VERY last minute, but the location in Playa Miramar can't be beat. Check-in was a breeze, the check in area is beautiful and updated, and the check-in staff was very friendly, even though we only speak Spanglish. Yes, you get actual metal keys, handed the TV remote, and towel cards at check-in, but I knew this from reading the reviews so we were prepared. We were directed to park our personal car at an open parking spot by the attendant who was also very friendly. We had a room on the 2nd floor (3rd floor really, since the check-in floor was considered floor 0). The beds and pillows were very comfortable, and the room was clean. The shower was clean and had hot water. We thought breakfast was delicious and varied. We paid about $30 US for breakfast since we didn't purchase the all-inclusive package. We thought this was an OK price since it was all you can eat and the service was friendly and exceptional. We wish we could have stayed longer and enjoyed the beach but it was a rainy day when we woke up in the morning. CONS: Rooms really need a modern technological update. We have to move the beds to the opposite side of the room in order to plug our CPAP machines in because the wall where the beds were situated didn't have outlets. Luckily the beds were movable. This is really our only complaint.Visited April 2024Traveled with familyWritten April 28, 2024
- Maria perezCalifornia22 contributionsMore Reviews of Arenas del Mar BeachfrontCurrently staying at the hotel, it previously had stated it was adults only. Upon arriving there were a few families, wasn’t so bad. We left our stuff in the room and proceeded the the pool area. I jumped in the pool and the water felt warm. Possibly heated. We started with some drinks $140 pesos for a piña colada & a brisa marina. One was sweet and the other was ok. My boyfriend and I then decided to try the smaller size at $80 pesos each - a vampiro & a mango daiquiri, again, both too sweet to drink. I informed 2 waiters one had the vampiro remade, the other waiter said said they measure the alcohol, I don’t like to argue so I let him know we don’t mind paying for our drinks but all of our mixed drinks were too sweet so I made the switch. Stick to the cheaper drinks, not worth the money when nobody listens.Visited August 2021Traveled as a coupleWritten August 10, 2021
- clariyandyGuatemala20 contributionsMore Reviews of Hotel Lorencillo Miramar BeachfrontFrom the moment that we booked the reservation by phone we were given excellent service. When we arrived everything was as we had asked, a refrigerator moved into our room etc. making it very easy to keep cold drinks and snacks. The shower drain was clogged and taken care of as soon as it was reported. The air conditioner broke and was also taken care of immediately. Nothing but the friendliest and most caring staff. In fact, it is such a small place it is possible to get to know each of the staff members. They began to feel like family after a few days. Accomodations are as you would find in any budget hotel in the U.S., very basic...only where in the U.S. would you have a beachfront hotel at this price?! Our room was steps from the pool, bar, and beach. There is only a shower, no tub. They kindly provide a beach towel for each guest too so it is not necessary to pack one. The bar staff will carry a beach chair down to the sand for you and deliver drinks there as well. There is a small playground but it isn't very safe for the smallest tots. The restaurant "El Faro" connected to the hotel serves excellent meals at reasonable prices. The pool is only about 3 feet deep or so but it has a covered area with great lounge chairs to relax in. A word on safety concerns: we travel to this area every year and there were noticeably less people there this year. However, there is high profile police presence in two other beach hotels nearby. We practically had the place to ourselves. I would recommend the hotel for families. It is not a five star spa boutique type hotel (if you need that I would look on the other side of the street a bit further down from this hotel and for at least $30 more a night) but it was just right for what we needed. The only thing I think was missing were a few hooks to hang bathing suits and towels to dry. The window in the lower rooms do not open and it is SO humid in Tampico that nothing dried really well hung over a chair or door. Next time I might spend a bit extra and get one of the rooms with a balcony. There are rooms on the beach side and rooms across the street over the reception and restaurant. While we were staying there other guests included grandparents/grandchildren, young families, work colleagues on a training assignment, just for an idea of who you'll find. We will be going back to Lorencillo Miramar.Visited May 2011Traveled with familyWritten May 25, 2011
- Polifee192 contributionsMore Reviews of Dona Juana Cecilia Miramar BeachfrontWe went on June for a wedding in the beach, but the hotel for the wedding was full so we book online this hotel, I didn´t like the room even was realy spacious and clean, but without windows, and the smell of DDT hit me since we arrive, we had to open the door all day instead of the smell go out but without success. In the other hand, the service was really nice (like almost in every place in Mexico), the beach was beautiful & clean, and they have 2 swimming pools"Visited June 2009Traveled on businessWritten March 20, 2010
