Welcome to ‘The Island University’! The area’s premier institution of higher learning enrolls more than 12,230 students and is part of The Texas A&M University System. A&M-Corpus Christi’s location on the Gulf of Mexico and on the cultural border with Latin America shapes its focus and provides the foundation for gaining national prominence. The Island offers more than 250 days of sunshine, a Gulf breeze, and mild weather year-round. “Loteria Corpus Christi” is a 52'x24' public artwork located in downtown near Corpus Christi’s bayfront, restaurants and hotels. Based upon Mexican Bingo, the colorful mural was painted by 50 of South Texas' premier artists and completed in 2015. “Loteria Corpus Christi” was organized by K Space Contemporary with funding provided by the City of Corpus Christi & National Endowment for the Arts.
