The community flocks to Prahran’s organic markets as a Saturday ritual, while art and film students leaf through vinyl LPs on Greville Street. The gay community also has a strong presence here. Prahran’s heritage buildings like the Reads Emporium and Prahan arcade offer a grand sense of scale and history. South Melbourne hosts the city’s oldest continuous market, founded in 1867.
