The Royal Armouries is home to the UK’s national collection of arms and armour as well as our annual International Jousting Tournament. We are a free museum based in Leeds with a daily events programme which includes armoured combat demonstrations and gallery talks. Lotherton is a beautiful Edwardian estate on the outskirts of Leeds. Vast grounds, delightful gardens, an Edwardian hall and Wildlife World zoo make Lotherton a fantastic place for a day out with the family. Lotherton was home to the Gascoignes from 1825 until the family gifted the estate to Leeds in 1968, the hall is a fine example of Edwardian and Victorian design. The grounds and gardens cover eight acres and include a walled garden, woodlands, an orchard and a red deer park and hide. Children can enjoy playing on the two adventure playgrounds which have zip wires, climbing frames and swings. The Stables Cafe and courtyard dining area is the perfect spot for lunch or a piece of cake with a pot of tea. Lotherton has an active events calendar, with activities taking place in the school holidays and on weekends.
