It has the villa feel, not only in name. Each of the rooms is individually designed and furnished, has a balcony and deck chairs, views onto the surrounding gardens or the lake. Very attentive and welcoming hosts. Lovely garden, with porch seating available for your breakfasts or coffees on a warm day.
And not to forget: the rare luxury of a proper bathtub for a good soak. Breakfast is delicious too.

We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The rooms are large and if you book a room with a lake view, it is wonderful. Breakfast was good, but wish they had offered eggs. All in all, I really liked the hotel and would stay here again.

This review might be a duplicate, but if so, it deserves being said twice. This place is super! Stayed two nights, would have been happy staying a month. Closest restaurant is down the street a bit, so take a taxi if it's not for you. Or have the owner of the hotel do a "Vesperstisch", like he did for us. Magnificent wine list here, so we recommend a light dins and a bottle of the patron's wine.

The villa is located only a few steps away from Lake Constance in a quiet, peaceful neighborhood. A great restaurant - "Strandcafe" - is also within walking distance. It also has a small fitness and spa room and a sauna.
Art is everywhere (obviously). I especially loved the art books in our room!
But the very best was the breakfast: healthy, fresh, delicious with everything you could want: eggs, fruit, nuts, bread, cheese, etc. - simply delicious! I would come here for the breakfast alone!
The staff really makes you feel at home and does everything to make you feel even more comfortable.
The wifi connection could be improved, however, because it wasn't really working all too well - not even at the reception. But who wants to be online when the surroundings of the villa are that beautiful!

This is a lovely hotel hidden in a residential neighborhood just outside central Radolfzell but within walking distance for dinners etc. Our room (New Orleans) was spacious and beautifully decorated, with a balcony with chairs that overlooked the park in front with its artwork and paths, and Lake Constance. The owner's outdoor sculpture collection was charming and interesting and their art taste exceptional. WIFI was good. There is parking (very tight!) under the building, and they have bikes available which we unfortunately didn't have time to take advantage of. The location was convenient, and we explored one side of Lake Constance to Meersburg one day, and the Konstanz side the next.

Breakfasts were plentiful, and guests could order additional eggs, or other items. The staff and owners/hosts were extremely nice, helpful and gracious. We would be happy to return there any time.

This villa provides bed and breakfast in a quiet residential area facing the lake. There is direct access through the garden and park to the lake (approx 50 meters) and steps where it is possible to swim. This was very peaceful in the still of the morning and refreshing later in the day.

Breakfast on the terrace was a treat, with beautifully prepared fresh fruits, cheese, ham, smoked salmon, bread basket, and the option of boiled or scrambled eggs cooked to order. A fruit bowl was available throughout the day in the dining room which is a nice touch. In the evening it is possible to pre-order a platter of cheese and ham to enjoy with a bottle of wine. The wine list is extensive with many mature French vintages as well as local wines.

The rooms are all individually decorated. Our was large with a sitting room and private terrace with views to the lake. There is no air-conditioning and our room faced east, so got very hot in the morning sun and did not cool down during the day. This did impact our stay and unfortunately the hotel did not have any fans available, although I'm not sure how much this would have helped since the temperatures were in the mid-thirties.

The villa lives up to its name with original artworks throughout the building and in the garden. Other facilities include underground car parking and bicycles to hire. Alternatively it is a pleasant 15 minute walk along the lakeside into Radolfzell town centre where there are plenty of restaurants. Wifi is free and initially worked well but connectivity disappeared for the later part of our stay. All reception staff speak excellent English and were happy to make arrangements for golf courses.

I took my girlfriend here for a long weekend in December, to escape the hustle and bustle of London and to enjoy the beautiful Christmas Markets. We really couldn't have asked for anything better! The location is perfect, right on edge of the beautiful Lake of Constance (Bodensee).

ArtVilla is truly perfect for any type of break, suiting any taste. It's large enough to offer all the amenities you'd expect from a first class hotel, yet small enough to enjoy a very personal service. The hotel is bursting full of character and charm thanks to the various pieces of furniture, art and sculptures throughout. Each room or suite is themed beautifully to a specific city, such as San Diego, Siena and Tokyo.

Although the hotel doesn't offer lunch or dinner dining options, the breakfasts are truly incredible! Fresh coffee, teas and eggs served to your taste along with an infinite selection of cold meats, cheeses, fish, jams, fruits, nuts and cereals. We spent almost 2 hours each morning feasting, meaning we didn't need to eat again until dinner time.

If you're a wine lover then you'll be suitably impressed by the menu - Johannes the owner is a keen wine collector with an impressive selection of old and new world wines.

The nearby town of Radolfzell (approx 10 min walk) is beautifully situated on the banks of the gorgeous Lake of Constance. It has a brilliant selection of boutique shops, pubs, wine bars and restaurants. There's a museum, large church and even factory outlet shops.

If you're looking for a long weekend / week away from the city, I couldn't recommend Art Villa more.
