I know this place also from when it was still under the old owners' management. And at that time it was a lovely place the owner and the wife very helpful. In March 2015, I wanted to book a room for 500 baht a night. I gave the receptionist 1000 Baht to pay and he told me he could not...

Thepvong Place is indeed sold and has changed ownership, and with that name as well. It's now called Nana Charoenmuang, or something like that. I just stayed here 2 nights and was deeply disappointed compared to the other plenty stays I had there. Firstly the old owners are not there anymore, they knocked down the lovely sitting area and restaurant,...

I would disagree with the review below. I stayed here a long time ago, at which time I will admit it was nicer - there was a tranquil garden to sit in which seems to have gone now and the building is a little stark, however, the rooms are great value for money, clean, air-con, TV, fridge, all for 400...

Considering the many glowing references this place has received, especially the service, on trip advisor we were very much looking forward to our stay. However, we were greatly disappointed. My belief is that the ownership of the hotel has changed since some of the older reviews were written as there was no sign at all of a friendly English (or English...

Considering the very poor choices of Hotels in Phrae this place is ok. You get what you paid for. It`s a very basic accomodation...not always very clean (bathrooms)...but ok. Pros : The Lady hotel owner is very friendly and helpful. You can feel that she is really trying to make your stay a good one. Also the rest of the...

The 'nicer' hotels in Phrae seem to be out of town or away from the interesting central part. Thepvong is centrally located, close to interesting markets, within walking distance of the Pratu Chai area with it's great array of street vendors in the night market. The hotel is run by a very nice family. WiFi is everywhere, for free (Hilton...

The breakfast is very good & we enjoyed the Thai food also, the restaurant area is lovely with lots of plants, birds, fish! a good place to meet others travelling over a cold beer in the evening. Lovely staff, great owners and a homesome feel. Location is on a...

We celebrated our wedding party here in the evening and everything was perfectly organized. We had our friends and ourselves stay in the hotel in comfortable rooms. Maem and Carl spared no efforts to decorate the place and make sure all was well set up, from entertainment through catering and ensured we had a wonderful and worry free stay. We...

Stayed 2 nights 16 & 17 August 2011. Maem and Carl were very kind hosts giving us a lot of local knowledge of things to see in Phrae. For the price, the room was comfortable, the bathroom worked and wifi good and free. Enjoyed our stay very much.
