Firstly this was one of the only pubs that could accommodate my big group of 22 for sunday lunch. We arrived 45 minutes early but our table was ready and we were seated pretty quickly. The beer is nice with a good selection of real ale. However (which isnt a reflection on my score) its slightly more expensive at £4.00+...

Another great bank holiday weekend at one of our favourite pubs with rooms. If you like the country air good food and more than your fair share of real ale or in my case neat gin on the rocks ( local gin called The One) you will love both the Sally and its sister pub The Horse amd Farrier. This...

Dog Friendly pub in centre of village. Reasonable food at reasonable price. Service a little slow with only 1 barman on early Thursday evening. Good selection of local beers/real ales for those who enjoy this sort of thing

There are two pubs in Threlkeld, the Horse and Farrier which is up market and serves good food and The Sally which was the Salutation and is the locals pub. Many years ago we lived in the village and worked at the Sally one of the friendliest places I have known. Not any longer the prices of the drinks was...

This place used to be great but having visited yesterday I hear it's under new ownership. Having been charged over £4 for a pint of wainrights (£4.05)... I won't be returning again. Which is a pity as I was planning on staying in the area again soon. I read with interest that the landlord feels he has to charge tourists...

The pub is brilliant and staff are very friendly and helpful, the room however was a bit on the grotty side, tea stains on carpet and wall, shower tiny and poorly set out, room was a good size though,Internet hit and miss on room but great in bar,

I am Cumbrian, I Had the experience of being charged two different prices, one for local and another for visitors 10% difference. This is discussing, the Lakes needs tourism, not put them off. This is a pub for many walkers, in a beautiful part of the country, it gets a lot of passing trade, why oh why take advantage of...

Dear Elaine, Thank you for your comments regarding your previous visit to the Sally. Like yourself, I'm also a Cumbrian and take your points on board, however, like with many businesses we like to show our loyalty towards the local people of Threlkeld village by offering them a discount on all products. As a Cumbrian & hotelier I know the...

We walked to this pub from Keswick and had worked up an appetite. We each had a Sunday roast which was very good. The pub was virtually empty compared to the one opposite and appears to be more of a locals pub. We were made to feel welcome and felt that our meal was good value for money. We'd go...

I have visited this pub on a few occasions and have always found it welcoming. The staff are always courteous and there is a nice mix of locals and walkers. The food and drink are good as is the service. Not too expensive and it has a nice atmosphere about it.

We stayed in this pub for 2 nights with our 2 dogs, lovely clean accommodation with a great shower. The dogs were most welcome and the pub itself had a lovely atmosphere. We did not eat in the pub as our friends were staying in their sister pub The Horse And Farrier almost adjacent to this pub, where I can...
