    A weekend stay
We stayed at Studanka for two nights from Friday to Sunday. The Czechs call it a lenghtened weekend. Everything was fine – our room in Villa Depandance, the food and of course the swimming pool and whirlpool as well. In one word, we also thoroughly enjoyed our stay. However there is one disturbing thing that should be improved. The kitchen ventilation device (or is it a central air condition for the restaurant?) is really very noisy and should be fixed.

    Friends wedding.
We stayed here for the weekend as it was the wedding venue for a close friend. The hotel is remote, situated quite a distance from plague, but that is not to it detriment. We stayed in the other hotel building but dispute being cheaper than the main building of the hotel, the type of room was not diminished. The space was generous, with the rooms more like a suite than a standard hotel room. The food was continental and the beer was excellent - we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

    Beautiful location
Stayed on business for 3 days, the hotel is very clean and a beautiful location. It was full of snow and the hotel kept the place warm also made sure the access to the hotel was clean. The restaurant served good food with a good choice. The rooms are basic very again clean, large with excellent WiFi.
    thank you

So We have already been to the restaurant several times for lunch, as we have a cottage nearby. We keep coming back because the surroundings are beautiful and there is an excellent playground. But, even for the umpteenth time, we don't leave the restaurant satisfied. The service that looked after us was very pleasant. However, the kitches has big reserves. Only wizards can completely dry the pork loin, serving baby food on burnt vegetables is also not okay. The lemonade, which is supposed to be just grenadine, orange juice, soda and a bunch of fruit, at this restaurant is made up of very sweet juices, making it undrinkable. But what saddened us, because the prices are not completely low considering the surroundings, that when handing over the bill, no one said any apology, no satisfaction for the culinary failure, nothing. It's a shame, maybe we'll learn a lesson and not visit this restaurant again.

We came for a few days of R&R in this hilly, forested hotel in Eastern Bohemia, which claims to have a 4 star rating. Despite being off season, the hotel was fairly full. Our room (in the Villa) was nice, although the bathroom had practically no shelf space for anything, and the TV had the smallest screen I have seen in a long time. The Internet connection was a source of frustration-- slow and unreliable. Barely enough for email retrieval.. The health facility, which offers massages and Dead Sea mud wraps was in sad shape-- no hot water in some showers, terrible (VERY partial) application of the mud wrap, small swimming pool-- but a very good sauna and steam room. The food was at best average Czech fare, although the decent buffet breakfast had a chef making omelets and crepes, which was very nice. The service at lunch (which was expensive and very crowded) was awfully slow-- perhaps because the hotel is run with minimal staff during the period between seasons. On the plus side-- the hotel is located in a thick forest, with many nice trails which are clearly marked. There are some historical sites to visit in the area. The hotel is frequented mostly by Czechs-- we heard almost no foreign languages and saw no tourists. You can rent bikes or un-motorized scooters, or play a sort of mini-golf. I can be a relaxing experience if you do not care about food or decent service.

First thing - do not pretend this hotel to be a pure luxury. It is more a family relaxing place for a larger amount of tourists than a cosy small romantic place. However, there is a nice touch especialy in the summer that makes this place unique - and that is the forest around. It has a nice wine cellar with the fireplace and cosy and comfy rooms. I would be careful to buy the "sale packages" because all of the people do - and you cannot expect an individual treatment if the hotel is full of other guests who bought the same package. However, it has some spirit that makes it nice, especialy with your family.

Hello, we have just return from a New Years Eve where we had an new years package. There is an wonderfull place to stay - in the middle of a great forest an there is quite. Great for rest. Unfortunatelly, food service is very poor. We ask staff to bring several drings and they did not have them. Most of the think on menu ran out 4 days before new years eve. (I ordered 5 different bothles of wines and none of them had it. After that, we needed to return 2 bottles wich where ruined. Last bottle was OK, but it was a red wine and completele chilled and taken out of fridge. Also they ran aout, pear liquere, cherry liquere, jagermaister, and local beer Kastan... Such a great offer !). Food was also less eatable than good. Nor great! Silvest menu was so poor, we were forced to leave it on a plate. So sad on a last day of a year. (in that time, we had 2 bad bottle of champaine, which we returned). Breakfeast is good for a 3star, not for a 4star hotel. But one day old bakery was to bad anyway. We had an junior suit, which is really very nice. Spacious and comfortable. Must say, cleaning service does not work. They never did a bed in a 5 nights stay. No cleaning and desinfection of toilet. We had never towel changed (even so, they forgoton to give us towels to appartments at the day of our arrival). At the end, Safe got blocked and maintenance had to got in a safe to get our belongings - guy said, it happens offten...! We had also ordered an massages but there was a miss understanding. We got 3 different massages than which we pre-ordered. So bad, when you look forward for a 90minutes beer massage and get 30minutes facial. (from a 5ordered massages only one was correctly booked) Saunas and whirpool place is very fine and relaxing. Must recommend. Also stuff at the reception is good but can not catch up low level of service in kitchen. If Studanka is 3star hotel, would be OK, but 4star and for such a price you pay there, expect service level up. Funny was, when staff recommended us great kitchen in competative hotel near by - Hotel Panorama, which is absolutely fantastic, but having not a good location. Regards

to take trip in the area. We went to Kuks to see the Baroque hospital, Opocno Castle - wonderful, hiking in the area, very close to the border with Poland if one wishes to explore that venue. The hotel has wonderful sports facilities, spa, we ate at the restaurant twice-the food was O.K.Great for families.

We were looking for a hotel near our ancestral village of Lukavice when we picked this hotel. The hotel was very quiet and had a wonderful country atmosphere. There was plentiful hiking on the grounds, bikes to loan and even a small mini-golf area. The resort includes a pool with a swim jet, a whirlpool, which is not hot, a sauna, which is hot. The breakfast was very good and ample. We left right before a convention was coming so it might not have been quiet when that all got started, but we enjoyed a relaxing time. The restaurant is good. This is out in the country so do not expect everyone to speak English, but people were very friendly and helpful.
