The hotel is a nice architectural modern and contemporary structure , seafront located with an exceptionally nice view . The rooms are located in units of three rooms aligned buildings some between the dunes , steps away from the shore with nice view . It is a very romantic place to be with beautiful view . The rooms however are furnished with furnitures of modern design resembling a bit some hotels cartoons style not really convenient or useful . Our room , and also the room next door (occupied by other guests had a strong smell of humidity quite unpleasant and at time during the day strong sewers smell really unpleasant for an hotel 5 stars ! We and also the other guests made the staff notice it and they just ignored our complain . The staff of the hotel is limited and although gentle , appeared to be of professional level doing the minimum to pay attention to the costumer . We had to get the luggage’s in by our self at the check out of the room . In the room there is not phone to call the concierge , and no television either . Minimum bar drinks . The bathroom is well equipped, but the shower has no glass perimeter , which resulted in wetting the entire place every shower . Not pleasant . The staff at the restaurant is not professional we had to chase several time the waiter for the table needs. We had not the feeling to be in a 5 stars hotel resulting to be the most expensive of the area , and we will not return .…
Our 'bungalow' was right on the beach overlooking a sand dune and the waves beyond and the hotel was very attractive with multiple pools and common areas. BUT, the bathroom was a huge drawback. It was an open floor plan with no shower enclosure and made entirely of metal. The walls, floor, tub and ceiling were all a brown metal that was rusty and flaking. It was like taking a shower in a shipping container. The water soaked the entire bathroom; when we tried to mop it up with towels, they became covered in a brown muck. And, there was no ventilation so it smelled. I guess the design was supposed to be minimalist, but it was just unsafe and unsanitary. The 'front desk' staff was also disappointing; not very helpful or competent. We were there off-season so the other 'Viks' were closed so we had no other options for restaurants. The coffee was very good, but for the rates that we were paying, I would definitely NOT recommend this hotel.…
The hotel and facilities were very good. The room was especially comfortable, we had an ocean view suite. But most important we’re the staff. I found these young people to be incredibly willing to do whatever was necessary to ensure a positive customer experience. We had a false positive test, the staff was there in the ready to make our stay comfortable and safe. I can’t rave enough about the staff.
My wife and I just got back from a 6 night stay at Bahia Vik. Just what we needed for our 30th wedding anniversary. Such a beautiful property, right on the sand. Our room was Rita, with a partial sea view, and it was spacious and comfortable. Huge bathroom, great sheets and towels, excellent cleaning service, etc. Breakfast, while not a huge spread, was fine. Fresh fruits and breads (the homemade croissants are divine) eggs on request, good coffee. But the best thing, hands down, about Bahia Vik is the staff. Kudos especially to Juan Pablo, one of the managers, and Celina, one of the front desk staff. Both went above and beyond to insure our stay was top notch. From restaurant reservations to booking our Covid PCR exam to come home, every step was seamless and professional. Can't recommend Bahia Vik enough. We will be back soon! Thanks all!…
I only staid one night at the Bahia VIK. I staid in the Isabel bungalow which was splendid. Michelle greeted me warmly upon check in. She represents the Bahia VIK well. The room has a great view of the pool and the grounds. Given short stay I did not see much. Breakfast was efficient and fine. Do try their homemade yogurt, not to miss. The only snag, a big one. Michelle's companion called me once I had arrived back home. He asked me if I had picked up a cell phone from the room by mistake. I have travelled for several decades and have never received such an odd phone call. That one phone call is the last impression of the Bahia VIK in which I have no intentions of staying in again.
Very nice, welcoming and cosy hotel overlooking the ocean. Around 30 rooms all different from each other, including 15 bungalows. Friendly staff. Good food served at the restaurant and possibility to do few activities in the hotel.
Magic place with a perfect sunset. A place recommend to relax, have good drinks and nice food. Good Gym Center. Rooms are big and spacious and unique decoration. I recommend it to chill out and recovery body and mind. Hope to be back soon!
Typical of the other Vik's we have stayed in, this hotel is splendid. Located right above the beach, this is a great location to slow down and enjoy the area. The rooms are all individually decorated and are wonderfully large. Staff thru out the hotel was very professional and responsive.
This place is magical. Occasionally you come across a resort that offers something really unique and gets everything right - beautiful natural beauty, interesting art, good food, incredible service, positive vibes, large rooms, and spa-like bathrooms. The resort grounds and four pools are stunning with sweeping vistas across the sand and water. It's the perfect place to relax and watch the sunset. The resort staff really goes out of their way to make every guest feel like a VIP. Bike rentals were a plus -- and access to the other Vik resorts with some more amenities was really helpful. Bahia Vik is building a gym, but it wasn't ready yet, so we worked out at the Playa Vik. We also had a fish bbq at the Playa Vik because Susanna (Bahia Vik's restaurant) wasn't open yet for the season. It was AMAZING! Note: a lot of restaurants and stores are closed off season in Jose Ignacio during the week. While Playa Vik is a little closer to the center of Jose Ignacio, we preferred Bahia Vik for its views and privacy. The breakfast buffet at Bahia Vik while not super expansive was solid, with any kind of eggs available to order. The room was superb - comfortable bed, cold A/C when needed, and ample closet space, but no TV. We can't wait to go back. It's worth the steep price. Thank you, Bahia Vik, for making our anniversary celebration so special!…
We spent a wonderful week here and were lucky to have amazing weather the whole time. It is a very relaxed hotel with charming young staff who are all very helpful and who speak excellent English. It is just above a lovely beach where they will put up beds for you and hopefully next season they will have some new sunshades for guests to use. The 4 pools are all narrow but convenient with beds and sunshades. The breakfasts were good but could have been more impressive but sadly the dining room lacked character and warmth and few people seemed to eat there - most guests went next door to La Susana for lunch and out in the evenings for dinner. The only criticism we had was that some guests who were allowed dogs let them leave their deposits on the grass and the owners who were staying at the hotel did not clean up after them so the staff then had to deal with it but other than this we really loved our week here and would definitely return.…
