Unique stay in new high quality tree and jungle houses. An indonesian-european run boutique dive resort in the Togean Islands near Bomba village, Central Sulawesi. Bomba is the hidden gem of the Togean islands as it has remained unspoilt from tourism. Also very easy to reach when arriving from Ampana. The daily public speed boats Hercules and Manakara bring you directly to Araya's jetty in just 40 minutes. The spacious treehouses and jungle villas have a crazy view over the Tomini Bay. They are built far away from each others providing a lot of privacy. Enjoy the sunset from your own big terrace or hang out in the dive lodge with other guests. Diving around Bomba is just pristine! Great variety of dive spots in 2 atoll reefs, the Togean barrier reef and fringing reefs. Taupan Island offers world class wall diving. WELCOME!

We stayed for 5 Days in the resort and had an overall relaxing stay. The main point worth mentioning about this resort are: 1) accommodation: the resort is quite new and so are the bungalows. Very nice views, equipment is rather new and clean. Spacy room (jungle house) with large terrace, very calm since there is quite some space between the bungalows. Shower only cold water but if you wait to the afternoon, the sun heats it enough to take a +- warm shower 2) food: the food is good (I would give it a 4*) and they really take the most out of what is possible in a remote island like this. Don’t expect a lot of meat here - veggies and fish will be served. The cuisine tries to showcase the products of the island. You will take your meals at a long table in the main table with the other guests of the resort - cool atmosphere to connect with the owners and make new acquaintances! 3) diving: great experience for diving! Bomba Divers (which is the Araya-owned dive center) are the only dive center in the hood, serving also customers from the other resorts (although a limited amount when we were there). They are the ones who have found 80% of the dive sites in the hood so they are probably the best option for diving in this area. Our Dive Master „Is“ was highly experienced and very professional, he is also a nice guy to hang around with. Equipment is quite new and really well maintained. You can do some snorkeling right in front of the resort, although rather limited as the main reefs are a little bit sea-ward and cannot be reached by swimming. 4) the owners: we met Elly during our stay and he’s spot on for managing the resort. Very helpful for organizing whatever you want to do (including transfers in/out the resort). They obviously want the resort to offer a relaxing atmosphere and they manage to do so. 5) location: the resort is situated on s cliff at the southern tip of the Togeans on a quite remote spot with a beautiful view on the sea. Most of the things to be seen can only be reached by boat. No beach at the resort but one can reach a nice beach either by swimming to the next island or walking a little further up the island. 6) transfers: from Ampana, speed boats (2 options) reach the resort directly within 50min @ 130k . From Gorontalo, best option is the night ferry (Sun, Tue, Fri @ 5pm from the Harbour which is a little outside Gorontalo). Tickets for Business 2 (Basic, Stock bed) are on public sale at the Harbour, Business 1 (recommended, larger stock beds, AC) are limited to 50 spaces and also available at the Harbour locket only (first come first serve, Harbour opens around 3pm) and cabins must be booked in advance via internet. You go on to Bomba either by chartered long boat around 400k or public boat around lunch time for ca 100k.

We had an amazing time at Araya. To get there is easy from Ampana -- it's the first stop on the speedboat, less than one hour from Ampana near Bomba Village, and the speedboat drops you right at their jetty. I did my open water course with Elly, who is incredibly patient, professional and fun to dive with. He could tell I was nervous about certain skills and had me practice them more than required by the PADI syllabus, so that I would feel totally comfortable once I finished the course. Iss did a refresh with my boyfriend and was a great guide too. Dives were along coral walls and reefs with beautiful colors and diversity in marine life, including sharks, rays and all kinds of small creatures -- great for beginners but varied enough to keep more experienced divers interested. Aside from diving, there are snorkeling day trips, jungle trekking, etc. We liked to swim off the jetty at sunset before dinner, and in the evenings sit in the restaurant/lounge to chat, play cards, read, etc. The accommodations are the most comfortable we had in the Togeans: glass-walled bungalows, quiet and private (the front and inside cannot be seen from the footpath), with western-style flush toilet. Stunning balcony views from the hammock! We LOVED the food -- local vegetables for lunch and fresh fish for dinner. The staff made us feel at home and told us funny stories -- thank you to Elly, Pia, Iss, Ika, Aunty, and everyone else. We only wish we could have stayed longer! Thank you Araya!

We stayed 9 nights at Araya Dive Resort and it was an amazing experience. The jungle bungalow are spacious, clean and confortable. With western shower and toilet, which is not common in Togeans (still cold water, but that’s really not a big deal). Really appreciated ! The staff is amazing, always friendly and helpful ! The food was delicious, the best we had in all Sulawesi. Local recipes with local ingredients, very well cooked. Usually vegetarian meal for lunch and meat or fish for dinner. About diving, we did our rescue course and took a 10 dives package. It was AWESOME ! The wall are amazing, far beyond Bunaken in our opinion (without the turtles). Giant sponges, crazy architectures, big stuff (reef sharks, school of barracudas, big tunas), full of life, really beautiful ! Ely our instructor (and the owner) has been really professional , very concerned about teaching in the best possible way. Iss, our dive guide was also very good, very passionate, friendly and full of jokes and stories ! The jungle trip from the resort is really inexpensive and really worth it ! The jelly fish lake and the b24 wreck are also very good, especially if you can share the price with some other guests ! Ely and Pia have been always available for answer to all our questions and they have been more than helpful. We definitely recommend to anyone heading to Togean islands to stop by this place, you won’t regret it ! BIG THANK YOU to all Araya staff, we had a wonderful time !
