We booked a room with a terrace in the main building - considering it was bad weather - we made a good choice. Both the quality of the room and the services were exceptional (the bed was too soft for us). I would especially like to highlight the restaurant, which surprised us with a varied high-quality breakfast and quality a la carte food. The whole hotel is characterized by the use of quality materials and perhaps in this context it is no coincidence that good quality SPA services. We didn't feel that something was working because it had to be, a good example of this was the outdoor jacuzzi pool with the right pressure, the sauna with a good temperature, and so on. Hotel's Favorite
There are many 5 stars resorts in Hungary, some of them are better than the Avalon, but for family holidays with children this is the top. First of all is very safe, there are no cars, so you can let even little children to go alone to the playhouse. Also the rooms are very nice, everything is it on its place. The breakfast is one of the best I have eaten in a 5 star resort, you can find everything you want. The staff are very friendly and professional starting from the reception to the staff at the spa. The spa is nothing special, it is quit small, but you can enjoy it, also the children can have fun. The children loved the playhouse, they spend almost the whole day there. The resort offers free parking in an outside parking lot, or paid parking in a parking garage.

The arrival experience is very good with friendly staff waiting at the garage reception to offer help with your luggage. The reception staff were friendly and helpful and the check-in was achieved very efficiently, and the procedures were explained fully. We made a reservation for dinner and then explored our rooms. We had two room for our party, one was smaller with a larger balcony and the other a larger room with a smaller balcony. Both were facing to the forest and access road, but were very quiet. Room facilities are good with a Nespresso machine and some welcome beverages. And a small mini bar. The room safe accommodates a 15” laptop without any trouble. The bathroom is small but functional. Both the internal spa area and outside pool area were large enough to handle the number of guests at this time of year, but could be overwhelmed in the summer and winter months. If possible a weekday visit may be better than a weekend. My wife took advantage of the spa treatments and was more than satisfied. Dinner for half-board guests is a sub selection of the full menu, but there was enough choice. Deserts come from a selection of cakes from the display fridge and were all fresh and very tasty. My only complaint, and this would prevent me from revisiting this property, is the bed which is very soft with very low quality pillows. This made for a disturbed and very uncomfortable sleep. It is disappointing to have such a wonderful hotel let down by something that would have been very easy to avoid.…

It is a very nice Resort with excellent restaurant. We spent few days in the Resort with my family. The resort’s design and atmosphere are very impressive. The room was really clean and comfortable. The Spa is not too big, as an adult perfect for a few days, but it was not satisfying for my 6 years old son. The restaurant is fantastic. The staff, the food, the drinks, the atmosphere are great. Reservation is also required for hotel guests. We did not know about it on the first evening, we had not reservation, therefore we had got table only after 9 pm. The breakfast was excellent too. The Maya playhouse is very good, my son love it, but also important to note it is not just for hotel guests. When we were there we had to wait about 1 hour to use the inner part, because there were two external group. In summary it is very good for few days with children, but not more.…

We had the pleasure to stay here for 5 times in the last 3 years, and for sure we are coming back. For us, Avalon Resort represents the place were we go to relax and take all the energy we need for a few months to keep on going :). The rooms are extremely clean, the towels are white as the snow, very quite (you can hear any noise from other rooms), comfortable beds. The restaurant is very chic and the bar have some very nice cocktails. All the staff are very friendly, they make you fell welcome and are very nice to you, they have perfect English. We love the pools from outside and the sauna, but also the pools from inside. We had the pleasure to enjoy the message and spa facilities, they are also very nice. For my boyfriend the favourite place is of course the carting :), I tried it once but only for the pancakes you receive it for free ;).…

Me and my husband almost every month visit this place because of its feeling. It is very luxury furnitured, the interior and atmosphere is excellent! Also the breakfast is incredible, what else do y need? In winter time the outside pool is so lovely.

Very clean, nice service, exquisite food in the Ristorante, warm pools (we visited at the beginning of summer), babysitting at the playhouse until 10 pm! Totally five star feeling. 2 minus points: we stayed on the lower level of a rönkház (wooden house) and you can hear every word from the upper-living-guests, isolation is close to zero. Either you take the whole house or stay in the main building if you need quiet. Also, I didn’t like the screaming music in Maya park, but that just might be me.

The resort offers free rides for the go chart track at the neighboring park for positive feedback here or booking.com, which may make reviews biased. In reality, the resort and the wellness is surprisingly low profile for a four star rating. Rooms on the ground floor offer zero privacy with their windows opening to walkways between the pool, the entrance, or the restaurant. Cheap materials are applied to the surfaces and the rooms have a disturbing strong scent all over the textiles, maybe caused by some air freshener chemicals. Upper floor rooms seem to be later additions with more quality materials applied, but the tiny windows cut into the roof provide almost zero natural light. The wellness area in the basement is small and dark, while the exterior pool area is outstanding, but less enjoyable outside the summer season. The greatest feature of the resort is its restaurant, which is absolutely western standard, either with regards to its excellent menu, special desserts, great tap beer, helpful staff, live music and moderate prices.
