Otjiwa Safari Lodge is the perfect home away from home. Offering you the accommodation options from Luxury rooms to family self-catering chalets and campsites. We have a wide range of activities for the adventure packed holiday or romantic getaway. Our restaurant has been newly renovated and refurbished, offering you high quality meals from breakfast to dinner. We also offer picnic baskets such as a romantic sundowner platter or hiking platter.
We enjoyed our stay here. The food was satisfactory and staff mostly very friendly and accommodating. Our room was clean and had lovely views. Tonnes of gorgeous birds around which made for great viewing. The highlight here was for equestrians…we can highly recommend the horse riding, led by Elton who was excellent. Certainly not your usual walk only tourist only trek! It was tailored to suit experience level so had great fun cantering through the bush and seeing the wildlife. A couple of comments and room for improvement, We wouldn’t recommend doing the night game drive as animals are extra frightened by the flashlight and simply run away so it doesn’t make for good viewing (and also makes you feel a bit guilty as they are very startled). Unfortunately for us our night time game drive also coincided with a mass flying termite mound exodus - so definitely not for those who aren’t a fan of being covered in bugs. The pool was a bit dirty looking so we didn’t swim which was a shame, because it was in a really lovely setting.…

This hotel is absolutely fantastic! We stayed in the Mountain Lodge which has 5 chalets and all brand newly done with the most amazing attention to detail. Decor and design are on par with current contemporary trends and such a pleasure to stay in a place that has thought of everything. The staff are very attentive with it being a family owned lodge and it was lovely to meet the owners and to learn more about their plans. This is honestly a hotel to recommend as only 2 hours from Windhoek so the perfect stop over when heading back to Windhoek from Etosha or for a romantic get away week-end if living in South Africa or neighbouring countries. For us it was the perfect last night following just the most fabulous two week trip around beautiful Namibia. The food is excellent and dinners are 4 courses with great a great wine list. We are so pleased to have discovered this lodge as it was recommended by our agent and one we will definitely be visiting again. Next time we will stay for longer so we can enjoy the game viewing. Thank you again to everyone who gave us such a lovely stay. …

Lodge is easily accessible on the road from Windhoek to the north. Chalets are spacious with a terrace overlooking the bush where springbok and gazelles roam. Equipped kitchen and barbecue area. Large pool with game visits in the evenings. Creative cuisine that doesn't always live up to its ambitious standards. Small souvenir shop with fair prices. Game drives with Rhino watching. A walk around the waterhole with ospreys, pelicans, warthogs, monkeys and many springboks is highly recommended. We spent three lovely days there.

We have been travelling the world for the last 15 years and have stayed in some incredible places. We both agreed that the Otjiwa Mountain Lodge is at the top our list. It really is that good. Our welcome from the owners was helpful, friendly and informative. The Lodge is ideally located a couple of hours north of Windhoek about 7km off the main B1 route. The main lodge is quite small but beautifully put together, it needs to be no bigger as it is only serving 4 or 5 individual suites. It provides for a reception, dining area, and very comfortable lounge. Many of the original hunting lodge features and furnishings have been upgraded and retained. From here there is access to a pool and sitting area. In the evening a fire basket is lit which is atmospheric but the smoke blew into the dining room, which was unpleasant to breathe and we and our clothes bear testament to it! It's so minor really. Our suite was wonderful. So much care and attention has gone into the development. We cannot fault it in any way. Luxurious, clean, contemporary and traditional at the same time, lovely bathroom, good wifi, a/c although it struggled to cope with 40c outside. All usual amenities. Overall we cannot praise the Lodge highly enough. Treat yourself and stay here! Nothing is too much trouble, staff and management working hard in the same direction. We loved it here.…

We had two bungalow chalet rooms for 3 nights and they were beautiful and very comfortable. This is a good location between Windhoek and Etosha NP and we chose it as a base to explore the Waterberg Plateau and the AfriCats sanctuary. We also thought we’d enjoy the rhino tracking on site. What we hadn’t anticipated from their website was that the hotel would have such lovely public areas/pool and in house activities such as horse riding, spa, game drives so we didn’t allow ourselves enough time to explore and to relax! Another couple of days could have been spent here happily! The food was always very tasty and the staff all friendly. Would recommend and stay again!

We stayed a night at Otjiwa for our 10th wedding anniversary & we loved every minute of it. Staff was extremely nice & helpful! The room was well decorated, bathroom was massive & the bed comfy. We loved the direct view from our bedroom to the the waterhole where we spent hours watching game. Many species of mammals & birds are also present on the property which is lovely. The food was the big plus of this lodge. Everything was fresh & extremely well-cooked. We absolutely loved the breakfast & dinner. If we were to come back to Namibia we would stay at Otjiwa again without a doubt.

Enormous and well-equipped lodge room on a low hill, fully-private 180 degree 50 km view from lodge deck, own plunge pool, double shower - this is a 5-star+ place. Food was excellent as were the friendly staff (Anna and Adelaide) and hostess. We enjoyed tracking rhino on foot with William and even saw a camel on our way out of the lodge. Definitely a highlight of our trip to Namibia.

We were looking for a campsite to spend the night on our way North of Windhoek. We enjoyed the camp - clean and tidy. we did not use the rooms or the meals. Friendly personnel. Many lovely birds around us, especially in the morning.

The Otjiwa Mountain Lodge is situated on a hill overlooking the game reserve. The bungalows are beautifully situated, well laid out, and elegantly furnished with an extremely comfortable bed. The mini bar is fully complimentary and well stocked. The staff are exceptionally friendly, and the service is impeccable. The activities are quite varied, with the expected emphasis on game drives at various times of the day. Food is excellent and very plentiful. The game is plentiful and the bird life is abundant, even though we were a little early for the return of the many migrant species. Highlights include tracking rhinos on foot and a fully catered bush braai one evening (you must stay more than 2 nights for this). Absolute luxurious tranquility. Highly recommended. 👍👍👍👍👍

Room Tip:Booking is essential. An easy 2.5 hr drive north of Windhoek, but there is also an airstrip.

We camped here for 2 nights and wished we had stayed longer! Being met by Deborah at reception with a tray of cool drinks was wonderful and this high standard of service continued for our entire stay. The owner took us out in his own vehicle for a Sundowner Drive so that we could stay together as a family. It was an amazing experience, especially our white rhino encounter. We will never forget being so close to the mum and her calf. The campsite was excellent; quiet, private and with everything we needed. We loved relaxing by the pool watching impala, nyala and springbok grazing a few metres away. The food we had in the restaurant was delicious and well presented, the staff were all so friendly and helpful (especially Deborah and Isabelle the beautician)
