Detailed Reviews
This is a lovely, serene little lodge. It's quite small, with only a few rooms, so a really nice and relaxing experience without the hustle and bustle of some of the bigger lodges. We really enjoyed our relaxing time there. The staff is very friendly and helpful, and the room was really beautiful. We particularly enjoyed the very good food at the restaurant (which has a fixed price 3 course dinner each night), and the viewing deck near the pool, where you can sit and watch lots of wildlife near the lodge's watering hole. It was very surprising how many animals come so close to the lodge!, and was fun to watch jackals and springbok and oryxs from our comfy chairs. We also took a hike up the hill from the lodge and saw zebras and warthogs as well on our walk. It's also just a (short, in Namibia time) 2 hour drive from Waterburg.
Absolutely lovely place -- highly recommend!

This lodge is located in the flush green part of the land. It has very traditional roofs, which create verry high ceilings in the rooms, made of just some kind of grass. But be aware of that they come down very low, so watch your head. The lodge is cosy with some small water dams. The furniture in the rooms is generous with large beds and a sofa. All the windows give you a feeling of being in a green landscape. The bathroom is also good. The breakfast is OK, even if hot water in thermos, simple teabags and no teapots does not make the best tea. The dinner was good, but not special. They are much into own grown herbs and vegetables. The vine alternatives are more than usually, which I appreciate. However, the sparkling wine did not have any bubbles left, it was probable served from an open buttle without a champagne stopper. I really recommend their evening drive since you see a lot of several animals. We had also the good luck of seeing a rhino and her calf grassing just a few meters from our jeep.

Beautiful, spacious room with four-poster bed and mosquito net. There are also fly screens on almost all windows. These were very useful during our stay (mid-December) as we had quite a few mosquitoes in the room. Sprays are available in the room. Kettle/coffee/tea, fridge, EU plug available. Spacious shower, shower gel, soap, hairdryer also available.
Beautiful, well-maintained swimming pool.
Breakfast buffet, various egg dishes can be ordered. At dinner there was a 3-course menu, which was not selectable, which was served. The food was OK.
There is an observation deck with a watering hole where you can watch animals. However, during our stay we only saw a few species of gazelle/antelope.

We have been guests of Frans Indongo Lodge for several years and it has become one of our firm favourites. Almost like visiting family or even better.
Being so ell acquainted, and remembered, our welcomes are of course special but so they are to 'new' guests too. The old maxim that a new friend is simply a stranger that you have yet to meet holds very true here.
We love the place and the ambience from all staff. The managers are on site and very visible which is a very good sign although teh staff are competent to work independently when required.
Meals are single menu or limited choice but can be flexible to various personal tastes. The wine list is very comprehensive and worth exploring but the staff are happy to help you choose.
There is a small pool for sybarites and a large viewing deck over the game reserve. New this visit was a floodlit waterhole which drew in antelope etc., as the sun started to set each evening.
Activities include a short game drive into the reserve to see animals including Rhino close to. Visits to nearby Cheetah Conservation HQ and several walks along marked and unmarked trails on the property.
Accessed by about 18km of gravel road from the main tarred B1 highway the Lodge is about 3 hours 30 mins from Windhoek City.

Frans Indongo Lodge is absolutely awesome. Very nice hosts, the food is outstanding and the view from the restaurant too!
The chalets are quite spacious and spotless clean (cleaner than anything I saw in Namibia). Beds are very comfy and we had a very good sleep there! The Owner took his time to explain everything and also told us a bit about the animals and surroundings. I'd really recommend the game drive, you'll also take a littel walk through the bush and if you're lucky you can catch some Rhinos!
The wifi was very fast as well (that's not really important but I had the impression it was the fastest wifi in Namibia so it's worth a mention). All in all it is a very nice lodge and I can only recommend staying there - I will stay there again for sure!

We stayed here the night before our departure and after two weeks of safari. It was just what we needed.
As soon as you arrive there is a sense of serenity. The rooms are beautiful and peaceful. The viewing deck is magnificent with a floodlit waterhole to spend the evening watching the great variety of antelope. The restaurant is worth 5* in itself, we had one of the best meals we had experienced on our trip. All of the staff were kind and helpful.
We slept like a couple of logs and woke up wishing we could stay for longer. We enjoyed a walk of the grounds and came face to face with some zebra before heading back for a wonderful breakfast.
There was a mix up with our bill that was rectified without us even noticing. Not only that but they offered a very kind gesture to apologise for the mix up.
We will definitely stay here again and would highly recommend to anyone.

We spent one night camping here. The spot was amazing with a great view and a beautiful sunset. Sadly we did not see many wildlife but that is nothing the lodge can plan. The road is a bit rocky but fun. The capsite had a nice fireplace and there was no one else there, so it was also very quiet. Bathrooms were clean and spacious. Don't forget your torch, there is no electronical light other than around the bathroom facilities.
The lodge seemed very nice as well but the campsite is a bit off site so we did not spend that much time there. However, the staff was very nice and friendly, even joking around a bit.

We had this Lodge planned as a stopover on the long B1 road. But it was a hidden diamond on our Nimibia trip! The nice reet covered huts were spacy, well-appointed and offered a modern, fully equipped bath room.
The lodge has a lovely terrace to view the animals coming to the water hole. The dinner in Namibian cuisine was excellent, the food perfectly prepared and tasted deliciously. The wine list offered more than expected (Thank you for having the shiraz from ReV, Stellenbosh on the list;-)! The service was perfectly attentive as well for dinner, for breakfast and on the terrace. Thank you for your motivation, we could feel your passion for the job!
We can highly recommend your house.

Spoiled to distraction. Service from arrival to departure could not be faulted. Dinner and Breakfast was a delight, sundowners overlooking the waterhole with lots of animals just contributed to a fabulous stay. Our cottage was heavenly appointed, bathroom in itself made for enjoyment. Wish we couldve stayed longer.

A beautiful lodge with very nice and large chalets. The staff is friendly and helpful. There is a great deck from where you can watch the waterhole with lots of animals, mainly antelope species. What we didn't like so much is the menu, which is limited to a starter and a main course. You can eat vegetarian, but there is only one main course that you are served, whether you like it or not. The same goes for the starter.

As far as I know Frans Indolgo does not offer rhino walks however has game drives. You can see rhinos while staying in Etosha, Okaukueyo. We were visiting Cheetah Conservation Fund driving from Windhoek to Frans Indolgo (you need to turn from the main road and drive around 40 km, then drive back; there is a shorter way but for 4WD only). The road is gravel and 40km/h is max. Regarding driving sedan... I would not recommend... We drove toyota rav4, which wasn't 4WD but is higher and much better for Namibian roads. During our 2-weeks journey I saw 3 sedans parked along the road, waiting for help...
We also stayed at the end of our trip and we really wished we had booked for two nights rather than one. It was such a beautiful place and there are interesting things to visit nearby like the cheetah conservation project which I would very much like to have done. So I would say definitely go for two!
