Perfection once again at Villa La Estancia. I have lost count how many times we have stayed at this exquisite property and I don't know how they do it, but it gets better every time. Everything about this property is perfect. Visually, the decor is traditional and warm. Comfortable in every respect. We love the location - the last resort on a strip of hotels on the Banderas Bay so its quiet with not a lot of beach traffic. The pool is my favorite in all the world - fountains and waterfalls and always the perfect temperature. We always get a 1 bedroom suite as we enjoy the extra space, 2 bathrooms, full kitchen, and laundry room. The restaurants are always on point and the food is perfection. But what really brings us back, sometimes twice a year, are the people. The same warm, wonderful, friendly staff who have the unique ability to treat us like valued family and Royalty at the same time. At the front door to greet us, help with bags, or get us a taxi our are our dear Raul and Gerardo. Breakfast and dinner at La Casona would not be the same without Melissa (who always remembers our favorite table), Lorena (who always remembers that my favorite thing on earth are those little conchitas and my pastry basket),Fernando, Ramon and Rene who all take such good care of us, keep our coffee coming and celebrate our special occasions. Dinner at La Casona, Josue, Roger, Edgar, Freddy and beloved Miguel, all of whom provide exceptional service and hospitality. My dear CynThia, always comes to find us to say hello, check in, and make sure that everything is perfect. At the pool, Lucio and Gabriele make THE MOST delicious drinks with house made juices and top drawer sprits. Sweet Ricardo, with his big smile, Ernesto, Hector (The Protector!), Felix, Raul, Josue, Nicolaus, Ramon, Alejandro make sure that we are fat and happy and hydrated. Eduardo and sweet, sweet, Esbai see to our every whim and make sure we have a comfy spot by the pool. Gabriella, in Room Service, took very good care of us on more than one occasion (Room Service is superb, btw, if you're too tired to go out). And finally, our Butlers, Alex, Carlos, and Christian constantly surprising us with sweet treats or a fresh tropical flower to tuck in to my hair or an invitation to a special champagne party on the beach at sunset. Every single person goes to extraordinary lengths to make our stay special and comfortable. I have never in my life been treated better. And THAT is why we return again and again. When we are home, we speak of ALL of these wonderful folks so often and fondly. They truly feel like family to us. When we are there, we don't want to come home. When we are home, we want to be there. Villa La Estancia is a very special, beautiful, relaxing property But it is the special people there that we remember and return to see.

We just returned last night from 8 days at La Estancia and we chose this again since we had such a great time last year. We came with another couple and had a 2 bedroom all-inclusive suite. The safe was broken on the 1st room and they moved us the next day and then moved us from the 2nd room to the 3rd when a air conditioning generator kept us up at night. No problem as the 3rd room was excellent even with a better view. The all-inclusive was wonderful with a international buffet, Mexican Fiesta as well as a lobster night. We all loved the hydrotherapy spa circuit, the pool service and house keeping! We entered the 1st room with a bottle of chilled wine, a bubble bath with roses in the jacuzzi and rose flower petals on the bed and floor for our anniversary! All of the personnel went above and beyond for a very relaxing, fun over the top vacation! As we were from Washington state we felt so at ease from the corona virus concerns and simply enjoyed everyday at this resort and I would highly recommend it to everyone who, wants a classy, relaxing, amazing food and very personable resort as they went out of their way to make this a "special vacation"

We had postponed this trip a few times due to Covid, but in the end after reading reviews and talking to the hotel, we decided to go over Thanksgiving. We are so glad we did. It was our first time to this resort and we couldn't be happier. We went with three other families and the accommodations were so perfect for us. We originally had a 1 bedroom booked in building 3, but that meant a shared balcony with a stranger, so we paid to upgrade to 2 bedroom, which meant having the entire balcony to ourselves. (The resort should tell people that if you book a one bedroom, you could have someone next to you. ) The views from our balcony were amazing and it worked so well to eat breakfast out there on the mornings we wanted to be lazy. The room also had 3 bathrooms, a full kitchen, and washer and dryer which was so great for kids. We did the all inclusive option, which worked out well, but we also ventured out a few times to support the locals. We ate at La Casona twice and it was fabulous. We loved the lunch options at La Parilla by the pool every day, as well. Their is a small store located on the property which we went to for some staples, but if you want to take a 5 min cab ride, there are two larger grocery stores.
A special thank you to Esbai for helping us with chairs each morning, Christian for being a great butler, and Raul for being the hardest working waiter that was constantly bringing food and drinks to our group of 15. Michaela in reservations was also so sweet. We also appreciated the detail to cleanliness by the gym attendant when working out.
We haven't stopped talking about this place. We always felt safe, the resort was immaculate and clean, they enforced masks in common areas and elevators, the entire staff was friendly and the food was some of the best we've had in Mexico. The place is small and half condo owners, but you could get a little more night life if you went to the sister resort next door. We found the whole set up to be the perfect place to relax while refueling the soul during one of the most stressful years ever. We hope to be back again this winter. Peace out 2020!!!

This is one of the best Costco deals around. The money you pay to stay in a Villa of around 1700 sq feet is just awesome. We stayed in a one bedroom Villa, bed was super comfy, the bedroom was very roomy as was the bathroom. There was also a ton of closet space in the bathroom and 2 sinks and a hot tub. The living room was an open floor plan with kitchen, dining area and living room area. We totally used the kitchen, picked up fresh breads, croissants and cheeses from the market and enjoyed that on our balcony which truly is the best feature of the Villa. Fantastic view, whale watching and sunsets. Everyone at this resort was very pleasant, helpfull , fun and just really nice people. I find the Mexican people are mostly all like that. We ate dinner mostly in Bucerias, it is i wonderful walk along the beach or the pathway and there are tons of different restaurants to choose from. We spend most days on the beach, wonderful wonderful wonderful. We have so much fun interacting with all the Beach vendors and just sit and watch for whales, dolphins and stingrays. Our one and only complaint, and really I find this not to pertain to the resort but more to some of the guests who made the decision to be as loud as possible later in the evening. This property has "quiet" time from 10pm till 8am. Now we like to sleep with our balcony doors open so we can listen to the waves. Half of our time there we ended up closing the doors because of loud guests. And one night there was a Wedding that went till 11. In the beginning of our trip we were interested in the Time share presentation because we love this resort. However, after staying 9 nights we decided we would never want to own anything in this resort because of the guests that can't seem to just tone it down a bit. Again, I really do not feel that it is the responsibility of the resort to try to quiet down loud guest that most likely have been drinking. Everyone gets a piece of paper on which the guidelines of this resort are stated. And people, really, there is the resort next door or Bucerias is full of fun, so be considered and party elsewhere. One last item, do by all means go get "massage on the beach" It is right next to the resort and those girls are fantastic, for $20 an hour!

I reserved a "Unique" two bedroom suite from 1/15/20 to 1/19/20 for my family. The unique experience is supposed to include additional items for an additional fee. The items listed on the reservation are the following: 1 complimentary beach bag, use of the Tetawari Spa Hydrotherapy Circuit once per adult during their stay, 1 welcome cheese board, 1 welcome bottle of wine, 1 Make your Own Michelada Kit, 1 bathroom preparation per stay, Aromatherapy experience, L'occitane, bathroom amenities, kit, and Nightly Turndown service with Ferrero Rocher chocolates. Upon arriving in my room none of these items were delivered or offered. I notified the reception desk the following day and some of the items were delivered to me. I exclusively booked the "Unique" two bedroom suite for the hydrotherapy circuit experience at the Tetawari Spa but I was told by Astrid, from the reception desk, that this is not offered and I responded that I paid for it and it was on my reservation. I requested a refund for the additional fee that I paid if the product could not be delivered as advertised but this was refused. She said she would get back to me and she never did. I followed up again with another representative about the items that were not delivered and once again I was told that someone would contact me and no one ever did.
When we arrived the deadbolt to the main entry door was defective and I contacted the reception desk immediately. A maintenance man was sent but he said he would come back and repair it in the morning. He never came. It took 5 phone calls to get the lock repaired and it was not fixed until late afternoon on the last day of our stay. I was shocked that a 5 star hotel provided such poor customer service. I paid for services that were never delivered and were advertised on their website. I booked directly through Villa La Estancia. I have had better service in 3 star hotels. I will never book with Villa La Estancia or recommend it to any of my family or friends.

This has been our beach get away resort since 2008. We usually stay 2 weeks, this time we stayed a month and was as usual amazing. We were in a two bedroom unit that we rented through an owner. Despite the rooms starting to look a little tired, I expect the rooms that are exclusively for the hotel/resort to rent might be better. What really makes Estancia is the pool, the views from your balcony and mostly the staff. We only dinned once in the restaraunt during our stay, Dec. 24 set menu at La Casona, was very good but pricey, service excellent. We mostly did breakfast in our room, full kitchen and went out for dinner in Bucerias just a short walk north of resort, lots of great restaurants. The pool guys, Esbai and Mario took great care of us, setting up lounge chairs and always checking on you, positioning umbrellas. Food and bar service around the pool is great...get the fish tacos! Beverage service staff, Ernesto, Raul and Ricardo are great. We have come to know many of the staff over the years they really take pride in their jobs and ensuring you have a truly relaxing time. Front desk and concierge staff very attentive and helpful. This a nice sized resort perfect for couples and families. They also did an outstanding job with Covid procedures, numerous hand washing stations, always masked...wish I could say same for some guests, luckily occupancy was very low during our stay so social distancing easy to do. We had a car rental for our stay and there is free underground self parking or valet parking, we opted for self parking to avoid contact.

My husband and I just returned home after our 7th visit to the Villa la Estancia. We NEVER tire of spending time at this beautiful resort.
Our villa was spacious, beautifully decorated and spotless.
We used the fitness center and were alway warmly greeted by Daniel and Paul. They welcomed us, provided towels, water, cold wipes and wouldn’t let us clean equipment after use.
The spa was a real treat! I had a wonderful facial and loved the sauna, hot and cold tubs and enjoyed the cold cucumber eye treatment.
The pool was so relaxing. Esbai was amazing and has perfected positioning umbrellas to provide either sun or shade. We loved all of the offerings at La Parrilla ...especially the fish tacos, ceviche caribeno and aguachile. The staff there works so hard. I can’t imagine how many steps that they walk while serving the pool area.
We love everything about La Casona. The food is delicious and always beautifully presented at breakfast and at dinner. So many wonderful people there provide impeccable and friendly service. We always enjoy seeing Fernando, Migel, Roger, Edgar, Eduardo, Angel and Cinthia.
The resort is located on such a beautiful beach. We love to walk, especially at low tide when the beach is HUGE. We also love to watch the sunset from one of the 4 hot tubs.
Villa la Estanciais a very special place. You should treat yourself with a visit! You won’t be disappointed!!!

Hector the waiter is awesome and hilarious. He was super attentive, personable, and funny and made himself memorable. The cleaning services made our rooms up whenever we were gone, leaving us uninterrupted during happy hours or when we decided to come in for the day. Only complaint would be the food.

Perfect as always! Villa la Estancia has done an amazing job, despite COVID, to give guests a phenomenal experience! This is our third time coming and it never disappoints. From the moment Gerardo opens the door to your taxi to help with your bags, you can feel the stress lifting. “Welcome Home!” is the greeting as you walk into the lobby, and it does feel like home. After that, Eduardo, Rogerico, Oscar, Ricardo, Edgar, Jamie, Miguel, Carlos (both for breakfast and poolside), Lorena, Cheli, Ernesto, Angel, Fidel, and Esbai will make sure that your dining and poolside experience is absolutely amazing! This was our 3rd time here and we always choose ocean front rooms and All Inclusive. For us AI is 100% worth the added expense. La Casona is one of the best dining experiences we’ve had while traveling abroad. This was our first time to stay in the one bedroom suite with the full kitchen, den and dining area and it is SPACIOUS!. Fruit, cheeses and red wine were waiting on us as we got settled in the room. We loved that housekeeping comes daily and replenished the towels and laundry soap pods were provided so we were able to go home with clean clothes. Masks were requested while we were in common areas like the lobby and prior to being seated at the restaurants but were unnecessary outside of that. Taxis are fixed rates when leaving the resort, as these drivers are delegated to work with the resort. When coming back from your in town excursion, negotiate your rate prior to getting into the taxi. We found several drivers that charged much more than we had paid leaving the resort. The rapid COVID test for returning to the States was easy to set up and results were emailed in a few hours. What is amazing is that we could tell that several of the staff remembered us from previous stays. How amazing! Those 4 furloughed months were tough for these sweet, hardworking people who we consider friends. Eduardo especially! We have kept up with him and his family since visit one and he has with ours! His laugh is infectious and you cannot not laugh with him! He is a delight! He knows which table we prefer and without even asking, it was reserved for us nightly. The short of it all, GO! Visit Villa la Estancia in Riviera Nayarit and enjoy every minute of it!

As other reviewers have mentioned, you may have ended up at La Estancia when you fully expected to be staying at Flamingo's next door. As timeshare members with the Villa Group, we did not appreciate being told that we were booking Flamingo's when they full well knew it was closed. Covid or not, Resortcom member services should be honest with their members... shame on you!
Negativity aside, the resort and the staff are top notch an worthy of a 5-star rating. Our 1-bedroom suite had an amazing view of the pool and ocean. Food is a bit limited with only two restaurants, and is our only complaint as we had purchased the all inclusive package prior to our trip. That being said, the wait staff at La Casona (Eduardo, Edgar, and Roger) are some of the best we have ever experienced. Very personable, talkative... which we love, and fun to have serve you!
We spent most of our week poolside and of course, sitting at the pool bar. Pedro and Gabriel served up the best drinks, joked and laughed with my wife and I, and genuinely made us feel so welcome. Nico and Ramon always passed by with a smile and made sure we wanted for nothing, while eating lunch or sitting in our pool loungers.
Each morning, I was greeted by Esbai or Alberto poolside to help setup for the day. Towels always ready, extra umbrellas for shade (it was a HOT week) and made sure to move them around during the day as the sun moved across the sky.
If you have the chance to stay at Flamingo's or La Estancia, do yourself a favor and visit the spa. Not only did we receive two of the best massages, arriving early for your appointment and taking advantage of the hydrotherapy area is a must!
The staff is what made our week long stay so great. The resort is pristine and very well kept, but that is the case with all of the Villa Group resorts we have stayed at. We have plans of returning in Spring 2021, but will be staying next door and hopefully see some of our new friends working at Flamingos!

To add to “Michael b” comments, normally they have free coffee in the lobby each morning. There is a small market next door at Flamingos that has coffee, donuts, breakfast and lunch items. Also has liquor and amenities that you can get if you forgot something or need.
I have been going here for many years and I have yet to be disappointed. Have fun!!!
