Nice and compact hotel, no long walks. Very pretty and well groomed grounds. Frienly staff. Only steps away from the beach. Pools are warm but are a lot smaller than they are shown on some pictures. Overall delightfull experience.

My mother, daughter (10). And I travel to Mexico annually. I have disabilities so we wanted to try a smaller hotel this year. I’d say the best part of this hotel is its staff. Everyone says hello to you as they pass. Salvador is at the top of the list servicing the restaurant in the mornings then serving drinks by the pool or on the beach. Entertainment staff was always out, the kids club went searching for iguanas every morning. They fed them fruit. The pool is the best feature. My daughter was fine on her own in that pool making friends. The rooms are outdated and aren’t cleaned until later in the day. Elevators are out of the way, it is not the most accommodating for disabled travellers but that’s a tall order. The hotel was small enough that I could walk around on my crutches just needed support on the ramps. There is a little shop on the beach, not a big variety of vendors out on the beach. There’s a great convenient store right by the billiards tables. We only went to the buffet and Italian restaurant because it was impossible to get into the Mexican restaurant. The buffet was good a bit above average, those with kids should be notified of the self serve ice cream, it’s available all day and a big hit. The Italian restaurant was delicious the steaks were good. For lunch they open an area at the Mexican restaurant and serve burgers, hot dogs, fries. If you eat in there guacamole is an option, at the buffet the waiters will get you guacamole if you ask. The theatre is a bit hidden, it’s through the outside seating area of the buffet to your left. We enjoyed all the shows but our favourite was the Michael Jackson show. Staff kept an eye on use to help and assist in any way we needed and always kept an eye on my daughter. They all helped with my Spanish. I think his name was Luis who brought our bags up was a great help. Taxis are at the front and will be hailed if you need one. I would go again just for the staff and the size of the hotel.

Room Tip: Ask for guacamole, steep ramps and elevators far, best way to the beach is by stairs, showers only

We typically look for smaller resorts with great amenities, and Samba Vallarta certainly fits the bill! The hotel is just 4 stories high and has authentic Mexican charm. We were able to upgrade to an ocean front suite for a very reasonable cost (thank you David), and absolutely love the view and extra space. The staff are wonderful, especially Salvador who delivers amazing drinks at the pool and beach throughout the day, and Manuel our favourite sever in the buffet, who goes out of his way to make sure the kids are having a good time. The kids love Manuel's magic tricks! Sadly, the Covid 19 virus is having an affect on all of the resorts in this area, including Samba. As the number of guests has diminished, cut backs are having to be made, which is totally understandable and responsible. We feel so bad for the staff who are losing their jobs and hope that the world recovers sooner, rather than later.

Like many of the other reviews you've seen, yes, the resort is a little dated. However, that didn't stop us from having a great time. Everything was very clean in the hotel and the room. The food was good. The a la carte's were pretty good as well. I did not get a chance to use the gym, but it looked nice. I enjoyed the availability of chairs at the pool and on the beach, both of which were very nice and relaxing. The service pool and beachside was usually excellent and the bartenders were all great. The staff in the restaurants and the lounge were extremely nice and extremely friendly, which really sold my brother and I on this resort. The only real downside is that you can hear everything in the hallways, whether it's people coming home late from drinking and talking loudly, or kids running up and down the halls in the morning. That said however, we will definitely stay here again if we go back to PV.

We booked this trip after reading great reviews and looking at multiple sites for peoples experiences. Being a trip advisor top hotel for 2019, an 8/10 experience rating, and being rated a four star we were excited for our trip as a family of four with two little ones. How extremely and hugely disappointed we were. We’ve travelled to multiple resorts in the past but this was our first time to Mexico. We understand that certain things are different when you’re on an all inclusive. And we also understand that there’s a huge pandemic going on but we booked prior to any of that happening and decided to go ahead with our trip. There were definitely some good things: -the staff. We cannot day enough great things about them. They are happy and helpful. -the cleaning ladies do a great job -the water pressure is INSANE! -the food was fresh. Not a huge selection but that doesn’t bother us. -the grounds are beautiful and well maintained -we didn’t go to any shows on account of the kids being in bed but we were told they’re fantastic - they have lots of live iguanas on the grounds that is cool for the kids to see -the kids club is AMAZING!!!!! So many great crafts and Bernina loves the kids and always has a huge smile. -the maintenance guys are great. We had a toilet issue and they were up and took care of it and had it working as good as new in no time. -the daily entertainment is great. With highs and lows and great at getting people involved without being too pushy. -the music wasn’t all Spanish. Tons of variety including American pop and classics. -small and intimate which is nice -SUPER kid friendly Now unfortunately there is bad. And bad is pretty bad. -our first night the room was absolutely awful. It smelled so bad of mould and mildew that every time the AC went on the smell woke me up and my nose burned. We asked to be moved on our second day which they did to a somewhat better room but we still couldn’t use ACof fan on account of the smell. -the furnishings are dated, which normally would be fine but some of the fixtures were so rusty I wondered about tetanus for my kids -the beds in the first room were hard as rock. I woke up from laying on my side with my hips hurting and had to switch sides multiple times the first night. The second room was much better. -the pool needs maintenance. Badly. There are constantly tiles popping off. One of the pirate ship slides has a hole and all of them are leaking. The pool also needs to be cleaned. Badly. If we let our pool toys float around there were black rings from sand/algae/sunscreen buildup along the edge. This kind of surprised us for the pool cleaning since everything seems clean otherwise. -the rooms are constantly damp. We understand that in a humid climate this is common, but a simple ceiling fan would greatly help. Both adults have scratchy throats and upper nasal irritation with productive coughs which were attributing to the room air. There are a lot of locals that vacation here so lots of Spanish and Canadians. A few Americans. The resort is closing for two weeks second to the pandemic. I really hope that they take this time to do some updates and maintenance since this resort really has so much potential.
