Non-balcony rooms also look at the pool, we did not have a balcony last year, overlooked RIU but close to the ocean and loved having our window open at night to hear the waves. How much time do you spend in the room...just to sleep.I was actually happy to not overlook the pool due to the noise, I would love a balcony facing north with the ocean to my west :)
We did meet some people who were just provided a balcony, no add'l cost, all timing and then money if one is available, IMO. You will very likely enjoy your stay, great staff, cleanliness, quaint hotel, friendly guests, safe travels!
