The Avani Sepang Goldcoast Resort offers a serene atmosphere and picturesque, albeit remote, location that guests find tranquil with beautiful views. While some travelers commend the cleanliness of the hotel and enjoy the amenities like the spa and family activities, there's a consensus that rooms could benefit from maintenance and updating.
Service experiences vary widely, with some guests praising the staff's friendliness and others frustrated by inefficiencies. Moreover, the resort's value is often questioned due to overpriced services and additional fees.

Hotel's Favorite
This hotel is amazing. We had a family holiday flying in from the UK and Australia - 'meeting in the middle'. Both adults and kids loved it! Service is outstanding. The team can't to enough to make sure you're happy. Grounds are lovely. Rooms and villas are large. Private balconies and beautiful views including sunsets. Spread over a large area, the walk from the end of a 'palm leaf' to lobby is around 600m and very pleasant. Buggies are super quick when you call one, and will even take you to the beach! The pool is much larger in real life that the promo pics make it look. It's super clean and the pool team make sure you have everything you need. One of the best infinity pools I've ever enjoyed. Lots of space with loungers and cabanas, even when the hotel is busy (which at times it was with large groups arriving). We ate in all the restaurants which were excellent. Breakfast is very good too, with a huge choice of Asian and Western choices. Self service, with plenty of service and food being cooked freshly as well. Lots of fruit too, all covered, and good coffee! The private beach is nice, with loungers and a beach shop including water activities to book. We had the beach to ourselves both times we went. The sea is warm, and fun. Cloudy as it's super shallow, but still fun. You can walk out as far as the end palm leaf and it's still only up to your knees when the tide is out (it goes out a long way). When the tide is in, it comes right up to the beach which is nice, so pick your time to go enjoy. Shout out to Leela who is the Leisure Ambassador and knows everything inside and outside the hotel. Super helpful and we enjoyed catching up with her each day too. We enjoyed the Mangrove tour too. Both she and The Captain were excellent. Also Saras who was always around at breakfast or in the Pantry and couldn't do enough to make sure we had what we needed. And the gentlemen in Sepoi Sepoi - great setting for a beachside restaurant and again, great service. TIPS. Enjoy the hotel and the service. Also head out of the hotel too. There are some great restaurants just a few minutes walk away. Also some small shops selling essentials. There is a shop in the hotel selling essentials and gifts too. The hotel will also organise transfers to and from KLIA and it's only around 50-60 mins transfer time. Super easy. Thanks to the Duty Manager who organised our early check in and late check out to tie in with our flights! In summary, thank you to everyone at Avani Sepang Goldcoast Resort. We miss you, and we will return!

Avani offers good discount and it's affordable. We managed to get around RM600 per night for a family villa with breakfast for four adults. The design of the family room is good as there is a wooden sliding door should parents need a little privacy when staying with their grown-up children. The view is amazing. The buggy is always ready to bring us to the main lobby which is quite a distance for a walk. The villa has both ceiling fans and air conditioners. This is a good option for guests especially when we prefer to open the sliding doors connecting with the balcony. For the family villa, there are two toilets, which are comfortable for parents not to share with their children. The design of the roof is amazing and very unique. It gives a very different experience to guests even to us as local guests.

We tacked on a few days here on the back of a work trip in KL and our first impressions were that of feeling disappointed. My wife even commented that she hoped it wasn't over mud flats but that's pretty much what she saw when we arrived. The photos on the web site portray a pretty idyllic over water resort but in reality it is tired. It didn't help we arrived at low tide so the tide was well out and the sand flats fully exposed. We understand they are renovating the place so this review may not come as a surprise and the place certainly needs it. The family room we had was nicely situated on the end of one of the fingers and it was big, done in a Polynesian fashion with lots of dark wood and a dated layout with uncomfortable lounge chairs an a small TV (not great for our movie nights).
Service overall, excluding room service, was pretty average and this needs to be improved - meals out at different times and slow to attend to us. Room leaked a bit, never enough tea and coffee so we had to continually chase and basic items, such as soap and hair shampoo was not replenished.
All that said for the price we paid it was certainly value for money and we were able to go with it and enjoy what we had together. With some work and retaining a good rate it may be a good option. Just don't go expecting a flash place with idyllic water views. To us it felt like the level of service was just not there and it wouldn't be that hard to raise the bar here and deliver a lot more value.
Meals and drinks are up there in price but some good local grub restaurants on the beach next door out of the resort area and you can swing into town on a Grab (download the app) and buy beers for a lot less. Take your mosquito repellent to the restaurants.
It was coming in to Chinese New Year when we were there and we had to laugh as they must have had a 6 track playlist on the entire time we were there. We saw the funny side of it but it did start to grate on us.
Be interesting to see to see once the renovations are done so maybe request a room that has been completed.
A bit disappointing also that the activities were limited to the tide as well as the shooting and archery were not available. Again, expectations were not aligned with reality.

We are almost regulars here. But it has been the same as before. There will always be something tht is not right in the room. Before I checked in, i wrote a request by email to make sure the air cond is in working condition n no leaking at the bidet n such. Hahha. Still same problem. Ok anuar who drove us to the room was ok. A guy named Paarthiban supposed to check the aircond helped fixed the sliding door of the master bedroom tht was almost falling down. N he repaired the leak at the bath tub pipe as well. N the food in your restaurant. Yesterday’s buffet it was great. I was really happy. But today oh my oh my. Your mee kari, was literally water n curry powder. The curry for roti canai was like kilos of salt. Seriously. N the first night we had dinner there, burger was not bad, but Vani, had really bad attitude. Salute only to Shanti. Your fried kuey tiow we had tonite( which i had not more than 2 spoons) was sooooo sweet. We returned. N came another plate with tiny 2 prawns with tail unattached n still in the noodle. We are paying rm22 yaaaa....The macaroni cheese was sooo salty but not frm salt but frm msg. Shanti said thy cant void so she offered my son to take something frm
The buffet. My son took an ice cream. I requested for an egg to ‘repair’ my fried kuey tiow, but it never came. I know we still have to pay, but no worries. I will pay. Hope my comments wld give an idea tht you guys mist improve. Tq

I stayed here for two nights admist the pandemic.the Hotel parking area is isolated. There isn't any security stationed in the parking post as claimed by the hotel. In fact, nobody would be around in that area. My room door failed to open twice and the sliding door was broken. Consecutive breakfasts are 100% identical. No variation in the food served although they tasted average. House keeping not timely. Having the "don't disturb" signage displayed on my door knob, I caught housekeepers in my room when I returned room after my lunch. Some of the workers wear mask displaying their nostrils. I wonder if they know the purpose of wearing a mask. ATV on the beach cost rm65 for 20 minute. I find it rather pricy.

Arranging group check-in, inclusive of one and half day meeting at this place was exceptionally smooth. From the Director of Sales Mr CK and his team at Avani Sepang Goldcoast Resort (Banquet, Restaurants, AV, front office and support staffs), they are so committed and helpful in ensuring our event runs smooth and well taken care. All last minute requests were successfully delivered at timely manner. The rooms are spotless, buggy ride on a timely manner although during rush hours and the food served at Bila-Bila Restaurant and Perahu Restaurant (BBQ Dinner) were scrumptious. All of our delegates are happy with the place and its services! Two Thumbs Up! Special credit to these staffs that have made our event/trip to Avani memorable : Mr CK Leong (Sales), Ms Kay, Mr Ismail, Ms Ida, Ms Menaga (Restaurant), Ms Saravana & Mr Mamat (Banquet), Mr Sham (AV), Bazmeer (Buggy). Their services are 1st class! Thank you.

My family and I recently stayed in the Family Villa which was clean and well appointed. I felt that the lighting in the rooms were a not bright enough in the evenings but it created a romantic relaxed atmosphere. The main problem with this hotel is the inconvenient parking. Due to limited space, guests have to park some distance outside the hotel and walk back or wait for the hotel shuttle vans. The other inconvenience is that the rooms are located far from the lobby. In our case it was about 600m away and our options were either to walk or use the hotel bicycles available or wait for the hotel buggies to bring you and your luggage. During peak check-in/out periods the wait for buggies can be up to 30 mins. The hotel restaurants were just average but if you are feeling adventurous I would recommend trying the local restaurants nearby.

The experience I will never forget was definitely because our vacation in Avani was so much fun. Avani provides a variety of facilities and is suitable for all ages, the kids provided an indoor playground that I felt was very safe. Mr Bazmeer is a person who plays a key role in ensuring that our holiday season feels like we are VVIPs while we are there.
I would like to share with you other amenities provided such as exercise rooms, free parking, a variety of restaurants, SPAs, and most importantly bacteria-free.There are plenty of sanitizer sprayers available around the corner.

This is the first hotel in my entire experience whether domestic or International, it took 2 hours to check in. Such a long queue and the staffs were pretty slow.. when asked the manager about this delay in expedising the queue , his reply was "short of staffs". Is that how a so called 5 star rated hotel responses to its guests?
There was 3 of us my husband, daughter( age 10) and me, we took a Family Villa room No 228.
Upon checking in the room, we were shocked to see that it was horribly dirty with crumbs of food on the sofa, table, TV in the living area not functioning, the fan in the living area was making noise, the balcony floor was so dirty looked like sand and mud. The bathroom in the master bedroom was smelling of urine. Worst of all the bed in the master bedroom the bedsheet had a few big yellow stains could be anything...vomit, urine, food. I called the room service requesting to change the entire bedsheets and comforter and to my surprise they told me they can't change now that was around 5 pm. As such told me they could send the bedsheets over for me to change myself. How could I go for a peaceful holiday after a darn 1 and a half years later and pay exorbitant amount and end up cleaning the room myself. We have been so careful with cleanliness all the while especially so during this pandemic time . This hotel is atrociously dirty, smelly, unkept furniture, amenities not in working order. Above all the staffs including the managers need special training on how to speak to their guests and be able to positively solve any issues.
Looking at this I didnt want to stay thus checked out immediately and demanded my full payment . I will never go back there nor recommend to any families with kids looking at cleanliness to choose this place. Its a wrong choice. It doesn't deserve a 5 star rated hotel. It's a 1 star with terrible staff attitude.

My wife and I travelled to The Avani Sepang Goldcoast Resort from Auckland arriving on the 16th March. We were looking forward to some R&R after travelling the north and south islands of New Zealand before returning home to the UK.
Therefore we choose this hotel as it’s near the main airport (40 mins by cab) and only just over an hour from the capital Kuala Lumpur which we were going to visit before our British Airways flight home on the 23rd. Cabs are reasonable cheap and the journey was less than £30.00.
Unfortunately our trip was cut short as the coronavirus finally arrived in Malaysia over the weekend causing the government to place the country in lockdown. Coupled with the fact that good old BA cancelled our flight for the 23rd we decided to leave after two nights and fly home as best we could. The Hotel staffs were wonderful especially in a situation they had no control over.
It’s a shame as the resort was everything we wanted with white talc-powder sand warm shallow seas wonderful food in a lovely location that hopefully we will re visit again one day soon. My thanks go out to all at the resort and hopefully thing return to normal as soon as is possible.
When the world finally goes back to normal please give this wonderful resort a visit as I optimistically believe that you will not be disappointed.
As a tip try and fly Emirates and give BA a wide berth.

The hotel is charging for the entire experience, so I would expect the taxi to be marked up some 300% as well.
When you see the water, you might not want to catch anything.
I'm sure you can. Try to contact them and make necessary arrangements. They'll be glad to assist you.
