Not worth the money at all. - No one is on duty at night. Dialing 0 (front desk) received no response for 2 nights and even one morning. I had a small cut and was bleeding and no one answered my call; - Breakfast had a wide selection but everything tasted terrible and flies were everywhere. Cut fruit had all gone bad and smelly; - There was a mattress protector underneath our bedsheet. It was covered with blood stains and yellow sweat stains, absolutely disgusting - The brochure had lots of daily activities but turned out most were unavailable. The only thing available for booking was Mangrove tour but needed to book 24 hours in advance, and when we wanted to book for the next day it was fully booked; - Staff were friendly though. Rajan was one of them. Very helpful.

My friends and I spent a couple of nights at Avani Sepang Goldcoast Resort, when we booked this accommodation we were expecting a great time with the number of activities on offer, as well as it being a 5 star resort. When we arrived, the resort had a beautiful entrance and main foyer, we were impressed until we had to converse with the front staff for check in. This process was slow and unorganised, there was no explanation on how the resort worked, for example, no WiFi was mentioned, we had to figure out how to hire bikes on our own, and when asking the front of house staff regarding activities on offer, they had no idea what we were talking about eg. the Honey Farm ATV tour. The resort had a lovely infinity pool, but this was ruined by the staff member manning the towel station recording patrons in and by the pool on his phone. This is completely inappropriate and unprofessional. We had a lovely buffet dinner, which offered multiple types of cuisines. During the first night at the resort, we were greeted by a bat flying around in our room when we got back from dinner. Reception were able to assist by initially sending security with all the gear needed to catch a flying animal, which indicates this may happen on a regular basis. As the animal wasn't able to be caught, we requested a room change and as there were multiples instances that made us unhappy with this supposed 5 star resort, we believed it was justifiable to request a room upgrade, which they were unhappy to provide. To top it off, we found a dead bat which had obviously been dead for days, ants crawling on the beds, brown stained bed sheets, and the aircon kept turning off during the night, it's difficult to try order a Grab, and the only other option is to pay an overpriced taxi fee organised by the resort. Please let this review serve as a warning, don't waste your time or your money.

I had a very relaxed 2 nights trip here, keeping myself away from the busyness & fast-pace of most cities. Looking at the beautiful night sky with stars and listening to ocean waves, such a relaxing experience..!

Avani is one of the best staycation experience we have. Unfortunately, i just figured out that i lost my gold bracelet after a week. When i check photos in my phone i noticed the bracelet still in my hand a day before check out. Then i call the call centre to help me looking for it. Ms. Renu from the call center really put an effort to find my gold bracelet from the lost and found department. Keep it safely finally send to me. Thank you so much to Ms. Renu. Still can’t believe it i’ll get back the gold bracelet. Thank you also to the housekeeper because very honest and trustworthy in carrying out work. Besides that buggy service also very friendly only that staff at lobby reception really need put a smile to all guest.

The resort itself is incredible, rooms, facilities and restaurants are all top notch. If you are looking for a stay of the water at a quiet location, this choice can’t be beat. That said, you are an hour and a half, without traffic, from Kuala Lumpur; and getting a Grab or Taxi to pick you up at the resort is difficult. That leaves you either renting a car, or having the resort get you a car/driver at about twice the cost of Grab.

Hi all, I’m writing to highlight this incident at Avani which is extremely frustrating and disappointing for me. When checking in we were informed that reception and valet is open 24 hours, I specifically checked because my parents and I checked in earlier and I was going to pick my husband up from the airport late at night. I parked at valet. On return from picking up my husband, with the flight slightly delayed, we only arrived back at the hotel slightly after 1.30am. On arrival we noticed the valet counter not manned and the reception all closed. There was no notice indicating a short break being taken and how we should contact either the valet or the reception.  We tried calling out to the receptionist who we believe was inside the office a few times and tried knocking on the door, with no response. 5 minutes passed and still no sight of anyone. My husband then tried to enter the office to ask for assistance, only to be treated by a rude member (someone who was working on the 25/3/23 at 1-2am) of Avani staff insulting him by saying you are not supposed to enter this office. My husband responded by informing the staff that we have been waiting and no one was answering, what should we do? The staff member then said that they do not operate at night and that they deserved the break. To me this statement has no relevance as we were informed that Avani has 24 hour service but obviously was not the case. Such bad service and absolutely ridiculous to know that Avani treats guests this way. My husband and I were tired so decided not to comment and jus asked for help with valet service. We then had to walk all the way in as no buggy service seemed available. 30 minutes later another staff member rang the bell to our villa roughly at 2am waking up my elderly parents. This is such bad and inconsiderate service. He came by to give me the valet card that I asked for before. The staff member apologized but my parents have already woken up and will later have trouble going back to sleep.  Also to note that we ordered in house dining that night, and as requested we left our plates outside the door..although this staff member came to drop by the card for me, did not bother collecting the plates. The plates were left on the ground until 1pm. I booked Avani to have an enjoyable holiday but it had turned to be one with bad experience. My main objective for sharing this feedback with you is to hopefully not happen to any other guests anymore. Apart from that during the day the staff members are friendly and the environment is lively.

This resort has definitely seen better days. It has lost most of its appeal from years ago when it first opened its doors as Golden Palm. This is the 3rd time we are here but also the worst experience. We already knew not to expect much from the beach and sea as the part of the country is not known for pristine beaches and clear waters. But what we did not expect is to be so utterly disappointed at what the resort has become. The place is now poorly maintained. The rooms look nothing like the website photos, with chipped wall paint and aged furniture. Fresh bedsheet has some kind of permanent yellow stain visible. The two bedroom villa we stayed in had balcony door handles that didn't work; fridge that wasn't cold enough; and the bathroom amenities were very basic for what claims to be a 5-star resort. Room lighting was poor but air-conditioning was ok, although the ceiling fans creaked all day and all night long. The swimming pool had green moss along the sides and a part of the pool bottom had a rough patch that injured my husband's foot. The glass panels that separates the baby pool from the main pool is so dirty and stained that the glass is almost opaque. The round bar area at Bila-Bila has also lost its former glory, now looking dilapidated and in need of upgrading. Poolside afternoon snacks available were only basic fries, nuggets and fish fingers. No fresh juices available, only can drinks and cordial juices. The LPG storage area had broken doors which is unsightly and not exactly appearing to be safe. The breakfast spread had many choices but can be better in taste. It was hard to enjoy a meal when there are flies everywhere and when birds also make their way indoors trying to get scraps of food. The bicycles that are available all over the resort should be better maintained; some had no chains; some had brakes that don't really work; some had handlebars that are loose... all this pose safety issues to unsuspecting guests who uses them. We also noticed an emergency "life jacket box" along the walkway had no life jackets inside. The employees need to be further trained too in order to give guests an enjoyable experience and stay. Although they go about doing their jobs somewhat adequately, there is generally a lacking of the welcoming happy smiling holiday vibe that one expects from a seaside resort that again claims to be 5-star.

Here the possibilities are limitless and the location/idea is almost perfect. Unfortunately incompetent staff ruines the experiment. Orders in the restaurants are handled incorrectly and questions are not answered due to incompetent staff. In addition the resort is in the middle of nowhere. So if you want to be maintained by ppl who clearly have no idea what they are doing this is the place to choose.
