#1 of 4 Specialty lodging in La Tigra
La Tigra Rainforest Lodge is the result of the desire of our Business partners to protect the environment and share their love of nature with visitors. We are located just a couple miles outside of the small town of La Tigra, San Carlos, and about a 30 minute drive from the popular destinations of the Arenal Volcano and the town of La Fortuna. The concept of the Lodge is different than others in that it consists of 10 tent cabins on raised platforms immersed in the magnificent tropical rainforest on the outskirts of the renowned Children's Eternal Rainforest, the largest private reserve in Central America. Much more than simple lodging services, we are an environmental conservation area, where each of our guests learns the importance of conservation. In addition, our project directly supports the San Jorge de la Roca Elementary School, located next to the property, we supply job opportunities for the community, and all wood and construction materials were removed from the property itself in a controlled felling planned for this purpose for over 20 years. These are just some of the reasons we are more than just a cute place to stay. At La Tigra Rainforest Lodge we provide the perfect atmosphere to enjoy your vacation and get in touch with nature amidst a tropical rainforest. You can help our re-foresting projects by planting your own tree in one of the designated areas on our 8.5 hectare land. More than just a symbolic act, this is a real plantation which aims to form part of a future biological corridor and provide the ideal habitat for countless species of plants and animals.

Such an amazing rainforest authentic experience. You need to be comfortable with the wild life. WiFi is only available at the lodge. The food is fantastic. The lodging is rustic but you’re in the middle of the rainforest. Would definitely come back

Perfect place to stay in the mountains. I loved everything, mostly the concept and the bongalows. What a luxury to sleep in the middle of the forest just listing to the rain and the birds. The bongalows where perfect, just make for us to enjoy the nature. The breakfast was very good and enough for an hike afterwards. But unfortunately the dinner was a bit of a disappointment. Food could have a bit more flavor and balance in the seasoning

stayed only for 1 night, great experience, open but private cabins, spectacular view into the jungle, listen to the sounds of the jungle during the night and be woken by birds. Pitch-dark by 5:30 pm though so makes for an early night :) Food was great, personnel very friendly and overall a wonderful experience

Wow! So cool! It is tree house. It is first time to stay in a tree house. Only electricity is in the rest room. Wifi doesn’t work in my room. We must go to lodge to get wifi. In our balcony, there are two chairs and one hanging bed. Very relax in the nature. Vegetable is from their vegetable garden. So fresh, so healthy. They prepared dinner for us, delicious. We even saw tree frog at night when we waited for dinner. It’s just on the tree. Also, it is cool to see the tree house from down hill.

We went there for 6 six nights two adults and 3 kids. Stayed in two of the tents. The surroundings with rain forest and great views were amazing, but the tents humidity in tents was too much. Furthermore, despite that the staff said that there was hot water, we only experienced cold showers. The restaurant was quite an old school and the dishes ordinary. All together we had to leave two days early and did not receive any competition. The potential for a great travel distinction is there, but it fails due to unprofessional personal and preliminary housing.
