My family and I had a great time during our short vacation at this Resort. Simple yet offers a serene ambiance that made a difference among the other busy hotels in the island. It is a promising hotel that could still give more as soon as renovations completed. I was assigned in a renovated room and I should say it... More

I was visiting St Maarten on my honeymoon. The room needed to be undated and the A/C unit didn't work properly. I told the front desk but it was never fixed. The room had a weird smell no matter how many times room service came it was always there. The location was easy to fix and staff was friendly

I wish I could say something nice about the Sapphire. I really tried to like it... Ummm, I guess the pool was nice although we didn't use it. That is where the good stops. Our biggest issue came with the rooms. The hotel itself is old. I know I am not staying in an Omni or Ritz. I have lived... More

I have been going to this resort most years for the last 25 and was recently there in June. There have been too many unjustified overly negative reviews on the internet. This resort has had its issues in the past, but has always been essentially sound and from what I have seen is making positive steps in the right direction... More

Had a wonderful room supposed to sleep 6 but slept 8. There were only 2 of us so we had plenty of room. The shower in the little bathroom was not very good, shower head needed to be decalcified. The other bathroom was awesome, plenty of hot water. There was a hot tub on the balcony, nice touch. The restaurant... More

The resort is in the process of being renovated so it is not operating at its optimal performance. The hot tubs are not working, they do not have enough staff to keep up with suppling beach towels or fixing things like short circuits or other problems you might have in your room. The internet is very expensive and can be... More

We have been staying at the Sapphire for nearly 20 years, often in May and November. It was once a premier facility, but over the years suffered from neglect from the developer/owner. It appeared to be on the rebound in the spring of 2011 when Jan Borsje became general manager and had specific plans for improvement. Unfortunately he did not... More

The Front Desk Guys were the first best thing about our stay. Definitely showed a lot of love, fun attitude about having a good time at their hotel and on the island. Basically, this Resort has a lot of things going for it but it is definitely showing it's age/decline. We enjoyed the poolside happy hour (2 for 1) and... More

This place definitely has potential, but until the renovation is complete, I'd recommend staying far away! Rusty appliances, broken tiles, dirty linens and cockroaches are the main reason to stay away. The bartender, Paulo, is a nightmare. We didn't eat at the restaurant so I can't speak to that. Positive: the manager was very nice and took good care of... More

We own a week here and it was great when we bought it almost 20 years ago. It has not been taken care of although they receive millions in maintenance fees. The bad.. rust from the vents, and a strong smell of mold was in the unit we stayed in for our last visit. The elevators smelled like a sewer.... More
