The exterior design of these apartments is very beautiful but once you get into the room there are issues. This place has no reception and no one was there to welcome us until the owner appeared from his house which is by the way one of the apartments. His manners was not the best , he was smoking when he was showing us to our room and he was using inappropriate words. I booked a standard double room with fireplace and once we got in I asked him if we could use the fireplace and he said we could not use it because the chimney was not cleaned yet. The sofa was dirty and the room in general was filthy there was dust everywhere and had a smell of naphthalene. We had to use antibacterial wipes and clean that mess. The mattress was very hard and there were no slippers. The entrance door had a gap and we had to stuck the rug so that we can keep bugs and cold out. The breakfast was poor not much to choose from. Same morning I noticed a room with a smoking chimney. The owner said he had no idea about it and he did not care. We decided to leave the place one day before our check out and called the owner to let him know and his response was “did you wake me up for this ? You can leave I don’t care” the photos are old this place is neglected.…
Owner Petrus, acting disgracefully, yells at the guests, the bathroom and the shower is shocking. Don't go there! The shower from upper floor was liking to My daughters room. Breakfast is not served on time, the wifi did not work in the rooms.
Without doubt the best place we stayed in Greece. We arrived after a long days walking. Not least up through the village! Let’s get the only bad thing out the way. The shower. Why can’t the Greeks make good showers? The room was large and comfortable. A decent bed and sitting area. Lots of hanging space and the most delightful views. The surrounding mountains are amazing. Even the outside area was fabulous. What else? The food. Breakfast was very good. I love fresh cooked eggs. Anything you wanted. The pool are? We took 24 hours to find it. The wait was worth it. And again the views. Outstanding. I loved pretty much everything about it.
We loved our stay at Avragonio in Papigo. Adorably decorated, amazing breakfast and cosy rooms. The view from any part of the hotel is great and the pool, which is available next door, is lovely for a dip. The owner goes out of her way to care for the guests. Definitely a highlight of our time in Greece - we would absolutely visit again. Papigo is also a fantastic base for exploring the region!
Avragonio is a mountain hotel with character and very well built / decorated! Its location views and aesthetics are top notch! Some minor details are the mattresses that were really hard, sound isolation between upper and lower rooms were not good and last but not least the breakfast was just OK (in such a location and hotel I would expect home made pies, fresh orange juice and more options). Last but not least both days the heating was off in the breakfast room! Overall i recommend it without hesitation!
