We spent a week at Chalet Valluga while skiing the local resorts. We were treated like family by the incredibly attentive owners and staff. Cozy and comfortable, the hotel is nestled in Farellones which is practically ski-in and ski-out for El Colorado resort. It is also about a 7 min drive to La Parva (our favorite of the three) and 30 min to Valle Nevado (road conditions permitting). The owners were always available for any needs and questions we had during our visit. They were a joy to chat with about everything and anything. We had to change plans twice due to airline problems and then due to the weather, and we were accommodated without any issues. Breakfast and dinner are included with your stay, and that was huge because there are really just a couple of restaurants in town. Chilean wine, beer and cocktails served at the hotel are delicious. The hot tub is perfect for sunsets, so definitely reserve your spot. We are seasoned skiiers and come for the snow, and this place was absolutely perfect for us to leave the comfort of home skiing in the US and venture out.

Wonderful, sensational, spectacular, these are the words to express our joy and satisfaction of having stayed in this chalet at the foot of the mountain. Cozy rooms, perfect heaters, in the middle of winter at -3 degrees at night felt warm when sleeping.. Laughter. Bath with very hot water without having to wait to come in the hot water pipes. Super soft pillows, sheep-type blankets and heavy warm a lot. The Chale itself is simple, but all the decoration is harmonious, well planned, everything very clean. We stayed in a room with balcony facing mountain range (Sensational to the landscape). Food with dishes prepared by the chef (Food is different from Brazil, you may find it weird, we do not have beans, rice is rare, but the food is well made and tasty). Anyway, I recommend much exceeded our expectations. OBS: The dog Ayamara (Linda), came to receive us on arrival and at the farewell stayed on the balcony watching our departure. Ohhhhhh gente. It broke his heart. (Photo Annex).

Excellent option in Farellones. Very pleasant accommodation, very close to Farellones Park. It offers an excellent dinner included and a hot tub. It has a hot tub that is sensational (you stay in a heated hot tub in the cold weather outside). Very friendly and helpful staff. I recommend.

Our experience was not cool. I don't recommend it, especially for those who suffer from rhinitis and have children, as well as for those who value the hygiene of the place and friendly service. The rooms have fabric curtains that are visibly poorly sanitized (and the accommodation we stayed in had carpet, which was poorly sanitized; I was very ill with rhinitis!!!); The cleanliness of the accommodation leaves a lot to be desired. In our experience, it was possible to see that children were not welcome and, furthermore, guest service in general was not at all courteous.

Very beautiful guesthouse, in an incredible location, but the people who work there lack sensitivity. Spaces for collective use are not well used, the hotel's idea is to ensure that guests do not use them and stay outside the hotel, or in the apartments. A big shame.
The outdoor heaters are all piled up in one corner and are not used. The hot tub, although it says that use is by appointment, this does not happen. Kind employees, but they do not make guests feel comfortable in collective spaces, giving the impression that the guest is disruptive by staying there.

Poorly educated staff and scarce food.

Employees are very poorly educated, they laugh at us, they make ugly faces, they whisper when we ask for something, they whisper out words we don't understand.
Extremely fat and dislike children.

They serve one type of dish for adults, and another for children. If you have food restrictions, you have to beg them to make another dish.

Dori and one of the attendants are very polite people, but unfortunately today I refused food due to the neglect and indisposition of the employees.

A deplorable situation!

The owners and staff are beyond excellent. Everyone is amazingly nice & helpful. The location is very convenient to skiing the Tres Valles ski areas. They do provide transportation. (A small extra fee for Valle Nevado). Breakfast, happy hour & dinner are included. My biggest problems with this hotel are: 1. Very small rooms.
2. Rooms are quite noisy from other guests.
3. Incredibly small trash bin next to toilet for ALL toilet & room trash needs. (No flushing of TP).
PLEASE put a much bigger trash bin in the bathroom....and maybe some facial tissues too.

My room was not large, but it was comfortable, well cared for, and had a balcony with a great view of the mountains. Dorin (the Manager), her family, and staff could not have made me more comfortable. I felt like one of the family during my entire stay.
A full buffet breakfast was served every morning. The evening dinner buffet was always superb with the flavor of home cooking. Two meals a day were included, and lunch was available at an extra charge. There was a good wine selection. A shuttle was provided for skiing at three great nearby ski areas, El Colorado, La Parva, and Valle Nevado. The ski room was spacious and handy. A late season snow fall on the day of my arrival made for outstanding skiing. I skied in all three of the ski areas. The Chalet was not fancy or luxurious, but it was a really great place to stay.

My husband and I just returned from a ski holiday in Farellones, and stayed at Chalet Valluga for four nights. From the attentive and welcoming staff, to the comfortable accommodations and delicious food, we are 100% happy with our choice to stay here and would come again in a heartbeat.
This was our first trip to Chile, and Dorin, the manager, helped me plan our trip details in advance over email. She answered all questions I had prior to our arrival, including arranging for transportation for us from the airport and helping accommodate us with ski rentals if needed. We received a warm welcome upon arrival, and any help we needed with small details, or planning our transfers to the ski areas.
Our room was small but very comfortable and clean- everything we needed, and included a balcony with a lovely view of the mountains. Our ski gear was safely stored on a lower level and out of our way. The wine and cheese reception each afternoon was a great time to unwind and relax after long days of skiing, and both breakfast and dinner were delicious, and something we looked forward to each day. Dorin also arranged for a fun birthday surprise for my husband, which added to the many details that made this stay a wonderful experience for both of us. The whole staff was also very accommodating of our minimal Spanish skills, which was a nice bonus and hugely appreciated. We don't take being able to converse English for granted anywhere we travel, and do our best to make sure we learn at least key phrases of the home language wherever we visit, so it was a very welcome and pleasant surprise that we could communicate very easily with everyone.
The proximity to the ski areas is wonderful- a very short drive, included in the hotel rate, to both La Parva and El Colorado. There was so much mountain to explore at both that we never even made it out to Valle Nevado.
The only drawback to our stay at Chalet Valluga was that it was too short! I look forward to hopefully visiting this part of the world again, and if I am lucky enough to do so, will happily stay here.
