This hotel gouges and has zero compassion for extenuating circumstances. My family and I booked 2 nights ($566 a night) for August in early April (4 months out). Right away, it’s clear they’re gouging at $566 a night for what appears to be a fairly basic hotel in the photos. They also immediately sent an email asking if we wanted to purchase transportation. Yet, I get it - I worked in hotels for many years and you need to capitalize on your high season. However, I had a serious snowboarding injury just days after making the reservation where my hamstring muscles detached from my hip requiring surgery in order to walk again. Traveling and snowboarding is out of the question for a whole year. We explained this to the hotel and even though they could resell the room in a heartbeat (and had 4 months to do so) and we had only made the reservation recently, they still refused to refund any part of the 1-night penalty of $566. As I said, I worked in hotels for years – when someone provided a doctor’s note and we still had plenty of time to resell the room for the same or MORE, we would always try to help the guest out. It’s the right thing to do and it creates good will. The best they said they could do was switch dates within the same season even though we were clear that traveling was not an option until the 2019 season. Our friend who lives in Chile even reached out on our behalf and said the person they spoke to was rude. Expedia tried to help us and the hotel never picked up the phone or responded to any of their calls So in short, this hotel is all about profit and does not show any compassion for emergencies despite having plenty of time to resell the room, quite possibly for more.…
Staff is very friendly; Hotel web site says it offers shuttle service from airport for staying 6 days or more- but does not say if you use booking service its an extra $160 (bait and switch for people booking on TripAdvisor, you get less.) Manager gave us a hard time when wanting to invite friends to dinner in the restaurant. Had a friend from Santiago up for the weekend and took him to dinner in restaurant; although he had place to stay I offered spare bed in the room and was up charged, unfairly, over $150 per night for two nights for the same room I had already paid for?!? The ski shop has rentals on premises but doesn't offer waxing/tuneups. They will not really help you to arrange transportation between the ski resorts from the hotel. "free wifi" is weak and most often not really available in the room.…
Just returned to Australia after staying 7 nights at the Apart Hotel. What an experience !! From the minute we walked into the Hotel the staff were amazing in helping us in every way possible. The food is absolutely top class !! The rooms are clean, tidy and secure !! Location Location Location !! To Carlos, Luca, Rodrigo, Gisela and Elliana, thankyou for always smiling and making this experience one to remember !! Cheers :)
We travelled from Canada with our three teenage sons. We stayed at El Colorado Apart Hotel for 5 nights and skied 4 days. Our room (#221) was perfect for all of us. We were right on the hill and less than a minute walk to the first chair lift. There were 4 single beds and a loft upstairs with a queen bed and full bath. There was also a full bath on main floor. The balcony over looked the T-bar coming up and the sun. Upon arrival we were greeted by Lucas who helped us with our room, luggage, and lift tickets. Just a note, Lucas saved us a lot of money by getting our lift tickets on line. The room was clean and spacious with a little kitchenette. We had a breakfast buffet in the morning (similar to a European continental) and a 4 course meal in the evening. We were very impressed with the dinner. The Chef had a very thoughtful meal each night that was delicious and a lovely presentation. The staff in the dining room were awesome ! Rodrigo, Maria, Elli, Sol, and Marta (hopefully I spelt the names correctly) were nothing short of wonderful ! Our 1 son is celiac, and the Hotel went out of their way to accommodate him. They were so polite and kind. Truly I can't say enough kind things about them. When we return we will definitely stay here. The Hotel is a bit rustic, as is the restaurant. If this is what you like, then El Colorado is perfect for you ! …
Nice ski in ski out. Is a simple hotel, but clean and with a great location, beside on ski lift. From there you can ski to Valle Nevado and La Parva. The dinner was delicious. Friendly staff specially Romina and Dayana.
Excellent! The service, The room, the location! but not for baby, dosen't have baby cot. The attendants Marta(restaurant) and Dolores (mucama) are wonderful!!! Really nice hotel and service!! We really want come back soon
It was one of the best experiences of my life!!! The service and staff are world class!! They really care about you and your stay. Very friendly people! The food is excellent and I don't know any bad aspect to point out!!!! I recommend it!!!! Leo Barbosa
Nice, helpful staff! Always trying to help you the best way they posibly can. The ski area is pretty small, but the hotel was impecable. Prices on food, drinks etc are expensive in the entire ski area.
How often do you find a hotel with that location and with personalized service. All included except for the ski passes, free to pick where to ski and "surf" around the ski areas. Dinner was great, unique dishes with fresh ingredients......we will be back!
My family and I stayed at the hotel in the middle of August 2011. The cabin was large enough for a group of four adults, having one large bedroom with 2 single beds, a smaller bedroom with 3 single beds and there were two more single beds in the living room, which had a large tv (not many channels available), a fireplace and a small kitchen. There were 2 bathrooms with tubs. Also there was a nice porch with a view of the slopes. Everything was very clean and confortable. The heating in the cabin was fine, sometimes it even got too hot. Breakfast and dinner were nice, nothing too fancy, but perfectly alright. We didn´t need to bring food to cook in the room, because they served a lot of food in these meals. Next to the room where the meals took place, there was a pool table, and a table tenis table. At night that was pretty much all the hotel offered. There was not much to do at night in terms of bars and dancing. This was a calm hotel for people wanting to sleep early, get up early and go skiing only, because once you left the room, you were only 50 meters away from the lifts. About wi-fi, it didn´t work properly, on rare ocasions we could have access to the internet. The other thing that wasn´t very good was that the reception was closed most of the time, and sometimes we needed to talk to the hotel staff and had to go to the restaurant kitchen to find someone. In all, it was a good experience and I would go back there.…
