Our house is located in the spot of Sear, in San Pedro de Bordons, Sanxenxo. Its antiquity is thought to date from the year 1591, although there is a later inscription from 1742. It is sited in an ideal spot to rest and for leisure; ten minutes far from the beach and with some excellent trekking routes. You can gain access to its interior through a large gate which leads into an inner courtyard where there is a baroque balustrade which borders on another small courtyard where the stone flight of steps ends. The winery, the raised granary, the dovecote and the canalisation into the mine have been preserved. This house has 6 rooms: 2 double suites, 1 double special and 3 double standard; all of them have telephone, piped music, television set, kitchen, dining room, living room and toilets.

Elena made us feel like one of the family. All rooms are different and it's a perfect place to stay for special events with family and friends. The attention to detail is amazing. I love all the personal touches that Elena's family have made to make you feel at home. Even the help go out of their way to make your stay memorable. If we have the time I would like to stay there for a couple of weeks. Even though you rent a room, you feel like you have a house. Hats off to Elena and her family since 1580 I think! They also have plans for a pool in the future. The beach is maybe 15 min away.

This small hotel is fantastic. Only six rooms but all different. Very comfortable with good WiFi connection. Beautiful spot for visiting this area. Family run, the hosts are most accommodating.. Elena speaks excellent English and gives good advice on where to go. Her mother is a very good cook, we had some lovely dinners. If you like small characterful places this one is for you.

We liked this little place - very quiet and private. The old house has been lovingly restored and modernized. Elena was very helpful, and provided us with a delicious dinner. The room was a bit small, but very comfortable.

Incredible stay at Casa do Sear. It started with an ample parking, then an excellent welcoming by Elena. The room was absolutely gorgeous, the decoration, the quality of the materials, one can see that a lot of love and thought were put in the accommodations. The bathroom very big, top quality. All the linens and towels were way above average. Then dinner: one needs to book in advance and I highly recommend it. They buy the food as fresh as possible and with excellent quality. we've chosen a selection of seafood dishes and they were all top notch, and I've been eating fish and seafood all my life. The "berberechos" but especially the "navajas" were the best I've ever tried. The food is prepared by Loli and served by her joyful husband. Loli even came to the table and explain where she gets the products and her secrets into cooking. Overall a perfect stay!

Our satnav got us to the right area but not to the door and so we drove around until we saw the signs for Casa do Sear on telegraph poles. It was definitely worth the effort. This was by far the best place that we stayed during our two week tour of Galicia and ranks in the top best five places we have stayed anywhere. The attention to detail by Elena and her parents is amazing (the decor, the soft furnishings, the fluffy dressing gowns, the bed linen, the efficient radiators, the large bottle of mineral water in the room etc). This attention to detail extends to the service and cooking. There is an extensive menu to choose from and if you order in the morning they will go and buy the necessary ingredients during the day in order to prepare your evening meal. We ate in both the nights we were there and the food was delicious. We over-ordered the first night and couldn't eat all the tortilla. The next morning the leftover tortilla was given to us packed in aluminium dishes with knives and forks, paper napkins and wet wipes so that we could have a picnic lunch. That is what I call service! We stayed in the room called Avetorda (Great Bustard - all the rooms are named after birds) which had views to the front garden area and over fields to the South. As you can tell by the above review we were very impressed with Casa do Sear. Elena was very helpful and efficient and charming with it. The only area of complaint would be that the wi-fi was poor even in the reception area. We will definitely return here.

Response from Casadosear, Propietario at Casa do Sear

Dear Ian, Thank you very, very much for your kind words; they definitely made us get emotional. I still remember the day you arrived and all the details you are describing about your stay at our house and believe me, the pleasure was ours to have you as our guests. Actually we wished you could stay longer to share more moments with you. We do everything from the heart because we want our travelers to feel like at home even though they might be so far away from it, and we feel very lucky because on regular basis all our clients give us back that affection and even their friendship. However, there are always special cases, people who go beyond the affection or the good manners, and that was your case: always thankful for everything, appreciating every little detail and letting us know about how happy you were feeling (sometimes people do not show how they feel, what does not let us know if everything is ok for them or if they need something else). I hope you also enjoyed your stay in Santiago, as I know there was one lovely lady specially interested in visiting the cathedral and the historical center of this city, where I am sure you also had the chance to take a lot of photographs. As I said before, it was our pleasure and a truly honor to have met you and had you here. Please, do not hesitate to come and visit us at any time, even if you are not staying in the house because you just stop by the area on your way to the south. The fact of sharing some wine and a good conversation with you will definitely make our day. You know where you have your home in this corner of Galicia and we are already looking forward to meeting you again soon. Thank you once again for your beautiful words, warm regards for both of you and all the very best until we meet each other again. Elena & Family
