Staying at Markezinis was the BEST part of my 3-country, 9-day European jaunt just last week. Book this place as soon as possible, it will be the best decision you make.

Evgenia, the manager at Markezinis, is one of the kindest, most warm-hearted human beings I've ever had the pleasure to encounter. Her generosity, acute attention to detail, vivaciousness and gumption are unparalleled. Whenever she had a free moment, she would give my mom and I a ride wherever we needed to go. These trips were so full of laughter and fun, they ended up being some of our favourite memories of Santorini. Evgenia is a gifted woman and I'm privileged to consider her a friend after staying at Markezinis.

When my mom and I arrived in the early morning, Evgenia was there to greet us with a huge smile and provisions for everything: she dropped us off to Petit Palace (sister property with stunning views and an immaculate restaurant. As a guest at Markezinis, you have access to all the facilities at Petit Palace and Volcano View, which is nearby) while she prepared a scrumptious breakfast.

The food here really must be tasted to be believed - Evgenia cooks with care and a kindness that makes every bite memorable (she even bakes her own croissants. Seriously.) Everything is also gorgeously presented, with garnishes and incredible attention to plate placement. All you have to do is put in your order the night before, and the incredible team will deliver delicious food to your room, the pretty terrace or the cozy indoor dining space the next morning. Alexandra, who works as a kind of assistant to Evgenia, is a star: she is a lovely host and conversationalist, we enjoyed many long, thoughtful chats with her over breakfast and throughout the day, whenever we ran into one another. Evgenia and Alex make every meal feel like a family reunion - we had jazz music going and we sang together over fluffy pancakes and amazing omelettes. It felt like a dream.

The rooms are enormous and well-appointed, with comfortable beds and spacious closets. The ceilings are luxuriously vaulted and dome-shaped, they make you feel really extravagant! But my favourite part of the room was the bathroom - beautifully designed with bronze-hued tiles, double sinks, massive counters and a relaxing rain shower. Amazing.

If you haven't figured it out by now, I'd recommend Markezinis to anyone in a heartbeat. It's romantic if you're looking for a private, highly individualized experience, it's cozy and quaint if you're travelling with family, it's suited to those travelling alone or with friends. It's located in Messaria, which is a relatively residential/quiet compared to more tourist-y spots like Fira and Oia. But it's very central and the local bus is just outside the property - it gets you to any community you desire for about 2 euros and 20 minutes maximum. Having access to Petit Palace means you're able to enjoy spectacular views of the Aegean and a sunset that can only be described as supernatural. (Side tip: Make a reservation for dinner at Petit Palace. You will NOT be disappointed.)

Markezinis deserves all the success in the world. Its staff will not be soon forgotten. My mom and I can't wait to return with the entire family - everyone has to experience this place at least once.

I couldn't speak highly enough about this location. This is a quaint hotel right off of the main road in Santorini, with about 5 rooms total. The hospitality is incredible, if anyone says anything bad about this location they are INSANE. The host, Evgenia, truly went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. She greeted us at the door, had breakfast/food ready for when we arrived, walked us through the entire island and what to do / not to do in term of site seeing and restaurants. On our last day she even let us stay at the hotel until 6:30pm (checkout was at 12pm) because our flight was leaving late and she did not even charge us for that.

Definitely stay at Markezini Suites, don't even think twice.

This place was incredible. The room was clean & comfortable, bathroom was large and the tub was the icing on the cake :) The staff was amazing. I can't say enough good things about Evgenia she really goes above and beyond to make sure your stay is the best possible. She drove us around when she had free time, made us delicious breakfasts every morning. Even when one of our pre booked plans fell through she really saved the day and drove us out to this romantic beach restaurant to celebrate our engagement. It ended up being our favorite night in Santorini. She's always so welcoming and happy we became good friends during our stay and we even invited her to Canada to attend our wedding. We will definitely return to Markezinis Suites :)

We stayed at Markezinis Suites for five nights on our honeymoon. It was our favorite place we stayed in Greece. The room was beautiful, spacious and very clean. The best part was the generous and delicious breakfast served at the time of our choosing on the terrace or in your room.

Mesaria is very centrally located and it's quick and easy to get to many other places on the island via bus.

We will definitely be back.

Remember the name: Grigoris Katsaris. He's the manager, spends a lot of time at the hotel, and was a perfect host for our vacations. We spent 7 nights at Markezinis Suites on our honeymoon and Grigoris made us feel at home. He's the man that makes it special. Always available to give tips about restaurants, beaches (try Perivolos and the bar "Wet Stories") and nightlife in Santorini. The hotel is nicely located, away from the crowds in Fira or Oia, but close enough to get there easily. If you can, rent a scooter, as it is the best way to know the island (the buses were always crowded, and by car it's a traffic nightmare). Would definitely stay again.

Made this trip in June 2013 across Paris, Amsterdam, Athenas, Santorini and Mykonos. Every island in Greece has its own mood. Santorini is a romantic one. Breath-taking views, relax, small, you may cross it by car in 1.5 hours.

Regarding Markesinis Suites, the service from Horchos (George) was just incredibly perfect. More than we received in any other city in this trip, in fact maybe more than we had ever experienced before. They have only 3-4 suites so they can fully focus on few people and they give the most of them on fulfilling your needs, making easy your staying, helping you enjoy the island the more you can and building the perfect atmosphere for those who travel in couple.
The breakfast always on time in the terrace, fresh ingredients (probably bought every morning 'cause they ask you one day before what would you like to have for the next morning breakfast and you choose whatever you want from a list they have, extensive list btw).

George is a chef, hotel manager, tourist guide, knows about history, knows the entire island and the places you should go to, gets discounts from car rentals for you, arrange your arrival so you don't worry on how to get the hotel, and the departure as well... He just takes care of EVERYTHING. We were just about to offer him a job in Mexico, lol.

It's perfect for honeymooners. If you have the possibility, don't hesitate and go.
Please never let George go, and if you do George contact me, Mayan Riviere would perfectly fit for you, LOL.

I'm a busy person and I usually have no time, it took me some months to get here to post this but I really wanted to recognize George and Markezini Suites for their exquisite taste. Even though the whole trip was awesome, this will be the only comment I'll post .

Well had not been on holiday for a long time six years to be exact ...... but well traveled before this, so after my partner had said we were going to Santorini in Greece i replied with "nice".....
Nice was an understatement After arriving on the island we were transported to our hotel ... on arrival we were amazed by the architecture and the beauty of the place was fantastic the reception was clean tidy and well organized.
We were met with such enthusiasm and care it was not a case of you were guests and they were serving you they genuinely wanted the best for you for your holiday and your stay with them.
After being shown our room we were shown the rest of the hotels four other boutique rooms all fantastic we chose to stay in the one with the big spa bath :-)
the breakfast service was AL a carte and severed in your bedroom or on the terrace which was beautifully hand crafted mosaic.
They also have two sister hotels and one is the Petit Palace which you can use there facilities too, the pool, restaurant, lounge area all with amazing views of the Santorini sunsets it's famous for!!!
Well i can tell you for sure i will be back next year .... as they are making for some exciting additions to the Markezinis suites which will only make the experience even more splendid.
The location amongst the old and realistic village of Messaria, will add a piece of culture and history on your door step without the hussle and bussle of the touristy bit!!!!!
but your not to far away from it if you want it

Our small family had a very pleasant 3 nights at this hotel. Its a former mansion turned into a 5 room hotel, more like a bed & breakfast. Its located in Messaria, which is located in the center of the island. 3 bus stops which are a 5 minute walk away get you to Oia, Thira, or Kamari. If you are expecting grand Caldera views or luxurious amenities, I would not recommend this place.

But if you want the true Greek experience from a local perspective, this is a great place to stay. The best part about staying here is the host Evgenia. all compliments about her on this site are absolutely true. Hospitality is in her soul! Her breakfasts are amazing and the staff are real friendly and hard working! Cant thank her enough for such a memorable stay.

First of all you will never find better than Evgenia and her team, they are the best!!!!! Before our trip, my partner and I had read all the reviews of this hotel and every one of them mentioned how amazing Evgenia and her team were. Well, we found out for ourselves that indeed, they are the warmest, most welcoming hotel staff we have ever met. Nothing is too much for them and they genuinely cared about making our stay perfect. I really wish we had stayed for more than one night, but we are already making plans for our next trip to Santorini and staying, of course, in the Markezini suites!!!
The hotel itself is wonderful too. Beautiful, peaceful, spacious rooms. The bed was surprisingly comfortable and we had a great night's sleep. The bathroom was another surprise with a large jacuzzi bathtub and rain shower combination. Breakfast was a dream on the terrace just outside the room.
Another great feature of this hotel is that guests have access to the facilities at Petit Palace and Volcano View properties. My partner and I spent a day relaxing by the pool at Petit Palace enjoying the incredible view of the caldera and stayed until the evening for a very delicious dinner.
We can not praise Evgenia and her team enough. It was a short trip but it was truly an unforgettable time. We can not wait to return.

Santorini is truly a beautiful island but it’s people like you who make it shine more brightly. Your kindness is humbling and we very much appreciate that you would go to such trouble to detail your lovely experience for others to use. People who read such detailed comments have a better understanding of our fundamental mission of how we want each guest to feel like royalty. Per com'è strutturata l'isola ci vuole uno scooter o un auto, con i quali tempo dieci minuti e sei alla spiaggia di Kamari. In alternativa c'è l'autobus all'incrocio a 5 minuti a piedi. Ma qualsiasi consiglio o dritta puoi chiedere alla signora Eugenia, persona eccezionale che parla italiano perfettamente ed è gentilissima e sempre sorridente e disponibile per un aiuto.
