This was one of the most enjoyable stays it was simply amazing, the tree house is built around the massive tree and on stilts, it had everything you could possibly need all finished to a very high standard. We just couldn't believe the size of the rooms, you are in the grounds at the rear of the main hotel over... More

Everything about our visit as a large family group was excellent but what made it especially so was the friendliness of the staff. They coped cheerfully with our fluctuating numbers and accommodated all our requests. From the management down everyone was outstandingly helpful and friendly, we would definitely stay here again, quite possibly in the tree house now that we've... More

I wasn't quite sure what to expect after pulling up to the car park at the front of the hotel. Architecturally the newer part of the hotel fits in so well with the old coaching inn with the exact same colour brick, and inside it is not easy to tell either. But the architectural style is quite frankly a little...unprepossessing.... More

This is such a great and detailed review, thank you for taking the time to post this and I am thrilled that you enjoyed all the small details and appreciated the efforts we go to. The Trencher is our speciality and I am so pleased you enjoyed it. Let's hope we shall be welcoming you back soon. More

I arrived to find plenty of parking and a warm welcome from the staff in the reception and bar. The room was a good size with views over the immaculately kept gardens. The food in the bar/ restaurant is excellent, particularly the steak and kidney pudding, and faultless service, as was breakfast the following morning. This would have been a... More

Thank you for such a kind review. I am delighted to read such lovely comments. I am sorry the wi-fi was not great during your stay. There was a fault at the exchange we were unaware of but have since had BT out to look at it and solve the issue. Hopefully on your next visit this will not be... More

We visited this hotel last year so knew what to expect. We chose a ground floor room as we did have our dog with us. The decor was a little dated but the room was clean and comfortable and had everything you would want for a great holiday. The staff are very welcoming, polite, friendly and helpful and even managed... More

We stayed at the Hotel for the second time because of its service, dog welcoming policy, fishing and restaurant. Again, we weren't disappointed. We had a garden room which was spacious and comfortable. The restaurant food was excellent as was the service. The salmon and sea trout fishing was the best I have encountered although it pays to use the... More

We had dinner here. The food and service were actually quite good. I have no complaints other than the tables were sticky. It simply feels yucky when you touch a table top, your hand or sleeve stick to it. I suspect that it is the cleaning product they are using reacting with the varnish on the tables since all tables... Our maintenance team are on the case with this issue and hopefully this will be sorted before the end of the week. I do hope it didn't taint your dining experience too much. More

The Fox and Hounds was the chosen venue for Jays sisters wedding and Jay and I stayed for two nights, a nice place which allows dogs. We asked for a quite room away from any dogs and was given a converted loft. It was very comfortable with a great view over the rear garden. The wedding was a well organised... More

We always enjoy helping plan and host weddings with friends and families of our couples. It is great to read the hard work pays off and as such the day is enjoyed by all and not just the wedding couple themselves. Do make a return visit soon, we would be delighted to see you again. More

Our friends came down from Bristol to spend the day with us and to go out for a meal together. This was a lovely venue and we were greeted in a friendly manner. The menus were made of wood (as would have been in the olden days) and this made for an interesting start. The menu was eclectic and when... More

We were well impressed when we arrived at this beautifully decorated and furnished venue located in its stunning location but rather disappointed with the Sunday carvery, firstly we were one of the first shown to the carvery area and the food was already only warm, over cooked potatoes and overall a disappointing selection of vegetables perhaps this was a one... I am so sorry to read this review. Our Sunday Carverys have always been freshly prepared on the day and I am sorry to learn this appeared to you otherwise. I can only apologise for what I am sure was a definite one off. Our carvery always has a selection of three different meats on it, plus roast potatoes, Yorkshire... More
