It was a great experience, clean, organized, the staff was very helpfull . We enjoyed Jairo energy in every show!!! :) I'll be back again to see him again!! Would most definetly recommend coming here and seeing him when you do :)
I really enjoyed the hotel and the atmosphere. The food was great and the employees were also really helpful and welcoming. Jairo's energy was amazing and really made us feel at home. This vacation wouldn't be the same without his presence and we created a great friendship in such a short amount of time. I recommend those who come, to make sure you see him in order to have a great time!
I stayed at this resort last weekend, overall it wasn’t too bad… definitely not the best “all inclusive” resort I’ve ever been. Of course I read pretty much all the reviews about this place, but because I only stayed 2 nights with my mom I really didn’t care, also I had very low expectations about the resort…. So here we go with my own personal opinion, the buildings need lots of improvement, our TV didn’t work, the A/C remote didn’t work neither, we were on the 4th floor which it was an issue for me because I was with my 74 year old mom and there is no elevator, it gets even worst when it rains and it gets slippery. Food was just OK, and it was to be expected. Drinks weren’t too bad, but I’m not a big drinker, their wine for dinner wasn’t too bad, but we tried the restaurant at the pier which is not included… it was about $68.00 for dinner without tip for 2 people. But hey, the beach was beautiful!!!! The security team was so friendly and were always checking on us!! Wendy at the pool bar had the BEST attitude, also John (it’s spelled like that) from the buffet was really nice and enthusiastic about his new job!! I’ll probably come back, for that beautiful beach and the great staff that works in this resort! Great location and very close to the airport… I just wish they had someone better at the front desk, because Emmanuel hates his job and he is everything but friendly, he definitely don’t want people to come to this place… so get rid of him! Overall if you aren’t too picky and you just want to enjoy a few cocktails by the beach, I recommend this resort… Be aware of the vendors that walk around the beach every 5 seconds, I honestly wanted to help everybody, but they are too many!!…
The hotel facilities are very neglected, nothing to do with the photos shown on the web, the quality of the drinks is terrible, the snack bar is super slow with long lines, the food is not very good. I will never go back to a Whala Hotel.
2 Pools 1 with the main Cafe Smaller pool was where you get your afternoon snacks (quieter) Right on the Beach which was cleaned (there were a couple of dogs but they didn't bother you Cats sometimes made a noise at night 3 Star Hotel Cleaned almost daily if you wanted 3 Star Food A bit bland and sometimes not Hot but plenty of it Afternoon entertainment was not that great Evening entertainment was a little bit better WiFi wasn't to bad in all areas Staff at most times pleasant But some of the lads did seem to hover around the Girls Surrounding area was a little bit shabby but seemed OK in the Daytime A good basic place to stay
The Hilton La Romana resort was a great family vacation getaway. Me and my family felt very safe and thought the resort was very well kept. The hotel rooms are large and spacious as well as very clean. The food was delicious and the staff were very kind, friendly and helpful. We went for 6 nights and my kids were constantly entertained with the water park, pool, beach and the amazing shows that take place outside at 9 pm every night. One of my favourite places to eat was the main buffet. The buffet was very clean as well as extremely kind staff. My Covid test was done at the hotel! Was super easy and did not need to scramble to try and find somewhere to get my test. Right before leaving I called the front desk to ask for assistance to bring my luggage down to the lobby. Within 2 minutes of that call Carlos Gil came to bring me and my family’s 4 suitcases down to the lobby. He was super friendly and kind as well as helpful. Carlos Gil was a very kind staff member and left me and my family very happy with this resort as well as service/staff when leaving the the Hilton La Romana all inclusive hotel. Me and my family had an amazing time and will definitely come back again!…
Stayed here over the new year. Room was not clean and falling apart. The door to the room kept jamming, there was water damage and there was no cover on the outlet by the bed. The food was bland and boring. The beach was beautiful and there were enough beach chairs for everyone. The staff seemed nice, but nothing ever got fixed.
After 10 wonderful days in Hotel Zapata (wrote another review), we decided to try 5 days all inclusive in this hotel...huge mistake!!! Pros:position in front of the beach, a few steps to shops and amenities, cocktails at the pool bars pretty good. Cons (a lot!!!) : - food always the same, not tasty, neither fresh (the Dominican food is tasty and delicious, completely different!!), red wine pretty undrinkable as per beer (both served from recycled plastic bottles, many hours after drafting !!!), fruit and sweets always with tons of flights.... -Air con in room very old and noisy if on, impossible to use it during sleep or watching tv - Booked directly on the hotel website a partial sea view room (the most expensive except for the direct sea view ones ), asking for a king bed and they gave us 2 queens with view on the roof - At 10 am, the second day, we saw the housekeeper didn't replace the towels after took it away and we had no towels in the bathroom, so we told her still in the corridor. She answered she was going to solve the problem.....After going 3 more times at the reception we could have our towels only at 23,00!!! So one full day without towels!!! Unbelievable !!!…
Friendly budget-conscious beach hotel. Great location near town. The good: - location, beach ( incl shaded areas) - buffet: fruit, salads, eggs to made order, fish, coffee Not so good: - occasional mosquitoes and cockroach in room, - buffet entrees, - music volume at one of the pools (an issue when there’s construction at the other) - no room towels while they’re being cleaned This was my second stay and I will return.
