I recently had the opportunity to stay over at The Royal Oak whilst in the UK on a business trip; spent 6 evenings there over a 3 week period. The team are geared to ensuring your stay is pleasantly memorable, to the degree that when I mentioned that a particular dinner dish wasn't to my standard the next week when...

Staying in the area on business, very pleased either the room (Purdy). Lovely furnishing, very good size (bathroom huge), best tea/coffee set up ever (Nespresso machine, loads of speciality teas, nice biscuits). Room was themed with Purdy gin prints, nicely done. Very nice breakfast - care and choice. Only negative was shower was poor, so had a bath instead!

This lovely country hotel had been recommended to us, so we were looking forward to our night’s stay here. We had a very nice, clean, comfortable room at the front of the hotel. We didn’t eat in the hotel restaurant because we had already made alternative arrangements. Staff helpfully gave us the number of a local taxi firm to use....

Lovely room, very pleasant staff, one of whom saved my bacon by lending me some cuff links for a wedding. Excellent Full English breakfast, just the job after a boozy wedding party. Pretty outside beer/wine garden. If I had to criticise, it would be the limited sandwich menu.

Situated in a very pretty village The Royal Oak is a refined pub-restaurant with rooms. The rooms were very comfortable and tastefully decorated. Tea making facilities and a nespresso machine were available in the room. We felt the room servicing and cleaning was not quite to the same standard as the rest of the stay e.g. bin wasn't emptied and...

A truly warm welcome awaits you here. Stayed here maybe 3 dozen times or so and the rooms were spotless, clean and full of character. The food was gorgeous (will never forget that bubble and squeak, and the local steak), but the welcome was ridiculously warm. I arrived late one evening at around midnight, I'd booked late, and the landlord...

We travelled and met family for a catch up at the Royal Oak and what a fantastic place it was. The rooms were spacious and well organised with amazing tea and coffee making facilities and large bathrooms. We dined at the hotel for dinner and all loved the food and great service. In the morning the breakfast was lovely with...

I first stayed here 20 years ago. The hotel is tucked away in a tiny village, so if you want to get away it is perfect. If you like quality sleep, this is the perfect location with highest quality Egyptian cotton bedding. Breakfast was great. Only downside was temperature control on the shower.

Our son chose to take us to the Royal Oak for my belated Birthday treat. The menus were reasonably extensive with a wide choice of different foods. The service was prompt, and the chosen dishes well cooked and presented. In short, a somewhat different type of lunch in a truly historic Pub. Will certainly go there again - for lunch...

Staff very helpful and extremely pleasant, nothing was too much trouble. Room had good facilities, including a personal coffee making machine, bonus, ensuite clean, nice smelliest. Whole place bright and well presented, Pleasant garden at the rear. Good choice at breakfast, well cooked and including hot toast and copious amounts of tea. Would have liked to stay longer but only...
