Detailed Reviews
Cathy and team made this wonderful beach escape a marvellous experience from beginning to end. Communication was excellent, help was instant, and the cottage we were in (Paradise View) was amazing. Security was outstanding and the beach was 3 minutes away. I can wholeheartedly recommend Rugged Rocks Beach Cottages, particularly Paradise View and Sea Forever. Thank you for a marvellous stay and we will definitely be back.

Sea Forever has one of the best locations we have stayed in around the world and would be 5* if it was refurbished. It really needs a good clean. Pillows stained. Curtains and seat covers required a good wash. No shower head. Outside lights not working. Corroded window handles. WHAT A SHAME.! Could be fantastic. Would not want other cabins as views not as good.

We stayed in one of the smaller units and although well positioned and well equiped, it looking rather neglected, aged and really was in need of some loving attention. I had to use bed pillows on the chairs as the cushions were totally flat. It really needed a revamp.
This would be ideal for families as there is plenty of space and the management gave us a disount without us asking - so not all bad.

I have always enjoyed my stay at Rugged Rocks Beach Cottages. They are clean and provide all that you need in the way of facilities. You do need a car here as it is a little remote but there is a fantastic mall not too far away by car from which all your supplies can be obtained. I would if I could stay there for a month or more. It is a wonderful place to reflect, have family get togethers, birthdays, get fit! A wonderful healthy environment with pristine beaches which encourage long walks! I love the place!

DANGER, INGOZI, GEVAAR.
STAY AWAY, FAR AWAY!!
We should have known when we were told to bring our own towels that something was untoward.
This place is run down and filthy to say the least. Dirt, dust everywhere, it looked like they only made the beds since the previous occupiers had left, and that with holes in the sheets! The bathroom is an absolute filthy pig sty, a cesspit, for want of a better word...period! We had to scrub everything in the kitchen prior to use. The stove was a disaster. The braai grids were so dirty they would have given anyone using them a disease they would die from, fortunately we always take our own. They braais were not cleaned the whole weekend, shame on you! The people across the way even used the oven rack, after scrubbing it, to braai on. So, enter here at your own peril, and please Mrs. and Mr. owner, don't make any excuses about staff, covid, economy and the such like! In short, you have no idea on how to operate a self catering resort. THE PLACE IS DISGRACEFUL!
The Mantle family.

What a stunning place with a beautiful view. A short walk and you are on the beach, enjoyed every moment of it. After a midday braai nothing beats the traquil sound of the ocean to get you into that peaceful afternoon slumber.

Really enjoyed this one night stay and would stay longer in the future. What a stunning view, well equipped and so peaceful with long strolls on the beach. A gem of a find. A lovely location and great value for a group of 6.

We booked to go to Rugged Rocks but due to family matters of the health of a relative we have been forced to change our plans. We paid for our accommodation in advance .
I have to give accolades to Rugged Rocks that they are an honorable and class act. They refunded our deposit and while we will miss out going back to this beautiful coast this year, I write this review to commend the management and owners. These days, the honest business ethics of Rugged Rocks are hard to find, while we still fight with another establishment for a Rage booking refund for over 7 months.
I trust this review will contribute to ongoing prosperity of Rugged Rocks and we will endeavor to get there done day soon.
