Mira Montra is a small hotel, in a lovely setting. The beach is wide shallow and sandy. Our beachfront room was very calm and uncluttered with huge windows overlooking the sea, and we liked the open air shower. We ate at the restaurant where the food was good but took a long time to appear. The pool was gorgeous and there were shaded loungers alongside it. There were a few little things like no shower gel provided and the sandflies are a pain so take coconut oil.

Just came away from 3 nights at Mira Montra - wished we’d have stayed longer... nice villas set in peaceful, lush gardens manicured by a team of gardeners on a daily basis. In fact they also clean the beach every morning too - there’s a great deal of attention to detail paid at this resort. Salt water pool and private beach make this an excellent haven to come back to after a day out exploring. Staff are genuinely friendly and went out of their way to make sure we enjoyed our stay. We’ll be back.

The resort is situated at the best location on the entire island with a very big and private beach area. You could easily kayak to different islands around, kayak to the famous overwater bar next door, kayak back to the resort.
Beach was really big with large area of shallow clear water, you can swim and snorkel everywhere.
Rooms are very clean, new and comfortable. We stayed at the beach front villa and it is truly beach front, you felt like you own the beach yourself with direct access. The size of the room is very comfortable with all the amenities and even outdoor shower.
Service is really amazing, friendly staff and attentive. Food was really really good, they can find super fresh crab, fish and prawns!!
The whole experience was unforgettable!!! We love koh mak so much that we can easily stay here for weeks!!
The only downside as expected of a tropical island is some sand flies and mosquitoes. But we’re not allergic to them so we’re completely find.

Unfortunately we couldn't travel during the period we had originally booked due to COVID and travel restrictions, therefore we've asked the hotel for a full refund given the circumstances with the lockdown and high COVID cases and we were not able to travel interstate. We were lucky that another hotel that we had booked on the island were very kind and understanding towards the situation and they provided full refund but sadly Mira Montra did not. Instead they provided us travel vouchers to be used within 30 Nov,2021. I have asked for them to extend the stay until end of Dec and we will book additional nights so we can enjoy the experience. Traveling is still inconvenient for us due work and health priorities hence why we've requested for extension. Sadly again, they've rejected the request and told us to sell our vouchers! It is very disappointing that they do not show empathy towards the situation and can not accommodate to potential guests unlike other hotel chains we've stayed at. We believe that all they want to is make money despite situation where some restrictions are still place. This has been a negative first time experience and encounter with this hotel and very unfortunate that we will never recommend this place to anyone wishing to travel to Koh Mak. There are other hotels on the island that are more empathic towards their guest's situation.

Dear Khun Amolaya, We are sorry to hear about your dissatisfaction, the resort has tried to accommodate our guests where possible and would like to explain to you via more details below: On 06/04/21, the resort received the original reservation with a non-refundable and non-changeable policy selected by guests via the online website for the check-in on 17/04/21 during the Peak-demand week of 'Songkran festival'. On 14/04/21, you contacted the resort and enquired about the cancellation policy. The resort informed you that the reservation is non-refundable and non-changeable, however, in this exception situation the resort was willing to issue a voucher for future stay with us if the guest requested (with expiry date at 30/11/21, more than 6 months away). On 16/04/21, you contacted the resort requesting for the voucher to be issued and not opting to check in the next day. With less than 24 hours until check-in time, the room reserved for you was understandably left unoccupied for your reservation period given the short notice period, yet the resort process the voucher for you straight away. Between mid-April to end of October, there were no communication raised to the resort. Meanwhile, during this 6-months period most of the stay vouchers issued to Thais and Expats guests due to Covid-related disruptions have been used at the resort. On 31/10/21, you contacted the resort and asked for a full refund on the original non-refundable and non-changeable reservation, which the guest rescheduled and converted into the voucher back in mid-April. The resort informed you that the refund was not possible as per the original booking, but tried to assist you further by informing you that a name change to the voucher was possible. However, from all the above solutions proposed by the resort to accommodate, the resort apologizes that the guest remains unsatisfied. Best regards, Mira Montra

My wife and I stayed 3 nights here after staying 3 nights at Ao Kao Resort and we were a little disappointed. Mira Montra is beautiful, don't get me wrong, but you pay a lot more for that beauty. Costs ranging from beer to laundry are all a premium here which is not the case at other similar resorts on the island like Ao Kao. I would recommend visiting and having a meal, but if you are going to stay multiple days on Koh Mak you can find a much better value than Mira Montra.

I love this resort so much! The fact that, its staff is so helpful, friendly,and attentive. Thank you Ms. Gloy for her hospitality.
The location is also very good, right on a private beach with free Kayak service. So, you can kayak to a Cococape bar nearby.
Resort itsself is also spotless, impecable, gorgeous with spectacular vegetarians and lots of flowers. Thank you Mira Montra for such a nice stay! I will definitely come back!

The resort is beautiful and situated just in front of the beach. Very nice and big swimming pool with sea views. More than perfect for a few relaxing days. Very good breakfast and food overall. Just a few small details to improve the overall experience: We stayed in one of the villas on the hill and it seems it wasn't fully finished yet. We missed a hanger for hand towels in the bathroom, the painting in the shower was not perfect + it was not so straightforward to book a scooter. Despite that we definitely loved it there. The staff was super nice. Special mention to the resort manager- very nice and helpful! 100% recommendable!

Stayed several nights in a great beachfront villa. The villas are well designed, airy & bright, & facing right onto the ocean. Great sleeping at night to the sound of the waves & the wind in the trees. The resort is well run, with staff working non stop to clean the beach, and an immaculate pool looking out over the ocean. Good, generous, breakfast. Our villa was cleaned every day while we were at breakfast. The resort rents motorbikes, organizes boat tickets & arranges transfers to and from the piers. Mira Montra rates & restaurant prices may be a bit on the high side, but it is a first class resort with friendly, helpful staff, that still retains a laid back atmosphere.

If you pay top dollar for an hotel , you expect outstanding service . But unfortunately the Mira Montra Koh Mak fails on quite a few issues . Breakfast is small and not much choice , Staff everything is such a chore , slow , no smiles . Not enough staff , need at least 2 more staff , this hotel is run by one family they don't have day's off , you need a rest at times . Ordered food , after 45 minutes still no food had to cancel . Nice accommodation , clean , beach front . Would I go back , maybe , but needs improvement . If you go to Koh Mak , make sure you do your research , some of the hotels are very isolated , wherever you go you will need to hire a motorcycle , and the choice of hotels is excellent without paying a kings ransom .

The check-in was ok, but after that everything went in the wrong direction... The staff are generally ignorant to guests and smiles are rarely seen. The rooms are not sound-proof. We could clearly hear the neighbours having a good time... When trying to eat at the restaurant we had to call the staff to get the menu, to order and to pay. They pay no attention to their guests. This is part of our three months long vacation, and we have already stayed at several hotels in Thailand. 3 Star, 5 Star and 2 star. This is by far the worst driven hotel we have visited. The rooms are nice and comfortable. The beach is not good, at least if you compare to Koh Kood which we have visited several times before.

Thank you for getting in touch. Unfortunately, the last speedboat from Trat to Koh Mak is at 16:00. If you land at 18:00 you can spend one night in Trat and take the first speedboat from Laemngob (Trat) at 10:30 on the next day.
