Lazy Day is a very special resort-so far our most favourite we've been to in Thailand. We are a family of 4- 2 adults and 2 children- 5 years and 19 months. It isn't all shiny and fancy, and the menu is small - although there are many things, including fresh seafood which isn't shown on the menu. Drinks and cocktails are also very nice. Staff are very friendly and helpful and the bungalows are spacious and clean. We stayed in bungalow 1 and it was just beautiful. Literally on the beach and in the morning we could run across to the water, where there were many shady parts-sand and in the sea- which my children could play in happily in. There were enough shells and crabs to keep them interested also. We didn't explore the island much as we were just happy being there. As I mentioned above, staff are helpful and kind. For example, we were due to go to another hotel at mid day. They came to pick us up but were a little early as they had to collect some other guests from the pier. Instead of us finishing our lunch there and then-with children wouldn't be great!-staff noticed this and offered to take us to the other hotel after we had finished. This small act of kindness with no stand offish behaviour made such a difference to our day. There are a few dogs around the site, but they do leave you alone. This hotel has baby chairs and the slightly taller chairs for young children too. Once this new round of covid finishes, we would definitely return to this place.

I booked my stay corresponding with the resort over Facebook Messenger. Since I'd never been to Koh Mak (or any of the other nearby islands) I booked a package that included 3 nights, full board and transportation To/From the Trat airport. Everything was seamless with respect to getting to/from the Resort. Now that I've been there I think I could arrange the transportation part myself; its not difficult. I probably would book the Full Board again; all meals were included. During this time of Covid other places to eat are limited, so the Full Board package is a particularly attractive option. There is a limited portion of the menu included in Full Board (most of the chicken or pork), though the menu is not expensive if you want other things. In practice the woman who seems to manage the resort, Took Ta, can quickly arrange for things not on the menu if you ask her. The resort has a large section of beach that is beautiful all the time, but particularly so at sunset. I went over a Thai holiday, and it seemed like most of the buildings were occupied, but it does not at all feel crowded; most of the time you feel like you have th large beach to yourself. The buildings you stay in are basic but clean and comfortable, with a patio facing the beach about 40-50m away. There is a resort next door that is closed. This means there isn't anything else particularly close. You can rent a scooter, though the hotel arranged for a drop-off and pickup from one of the staff when I wanted to visit a bar on a pier at another resort one evening. I look forward to staying here again sometime.

Decided to spend 2 nights based on reviews, All communication was prompt. We booked ferry tickets thru the lodge. Everything went smoothly. The staff are attentive. The rooms are simple and clean. Watching the sunset is a must. Do go the sunset room. The beach is clean and the water clear for snorkelling. Highly recommend to stay here when visiting Koh Mak
