Food is tasty, althought main dishes like fried eggs, chicken and potatoes repeat every day. There are a lot of snacks during the day so you won't be hungry. All the food is behind the glass due to covid restrictions and there are often long lines in peak hours. The restaurant team is the most pleasant among hotel's personnel.
The main regreat is room cleaning that equals zero and electronic key to the room that works extremly bad. The towels and linens were not changed during 9 days. Be ready for the maid opened your door without warnings. To open the room somethimes we stand for 5-8 min in front of the door. One time the maid came to help us and her master key didn't work as well.
There is no animation due to covid.
We picked this hotel mainly based on price and its 4/5 star rating on various booking websites.
We were probably neither delighted or disappointed with our selection.
We could not fault the waiters, cleaners, daytime reception staff or overall cleanliness of the hotel.
Selection of foods at all meal times is plentiful and varied. There was always usually something that you could eat.The food in general was pretty bland in taste for our palate, and what we have to come to expect in Turkey over the years.
Drink on offer was again reasonable for the budget .All drinks were locals no brandy or bacardi on offer.Beer was pretty good and wine at mealtimes was acceptable.Personally we were not too impressed with anything else we tried.
Our main disappointment was with our room.It was not in keeping with the hotel ratings or reception /bar/restaurant areas.
Cant comment or other hotel room ,but we were based in the top floor in a family room though only 2 of us!It was in one of the main blocks in the hotel .
The phone in the room didn't work (yes we reported, but never got fixed). The flooring in room looked as though had suffered water damage to the laminate style planks. The bathroom shower area was pretty dated and definitely needed regrouting/sealing.Both tvs were vintage and must be about 10 years old at least.
About 30% of the double bed and lounge ceiling was on a slope and you would continually bump your head going in/out bed or using tea/coffee facilities.
Use of safe in room is not included despite being an AI hotel.I would like to hope that they have plans in place to refresh this room over the Winter period.
On the booking website we used, we opted for a standard room as opposed to a budget rooms I dread to think what they may be like!

Having read the reviews, we were apprehensive about this hotel, but in all fairness, it was spotlessly clean, the cleaners never stopped cleaning, and would always clean your room if you requested it, using the door sign. The heating and air con both worked.
The food was ok, loads to choose from, but for allergy suffers or people on specific diets I.e me, some simple signage would be helpful. We found the waiters to be mostly helpful, some miseries, but hey ho so would I be.
Reception offered us a €50 upgrade on arrival, which we declined, and regretted. We both had flu for the week, so weren’t at our best, but I think if we’d been well, we’d have been bored, but it suited us just sitting about in the sun. Yes there are cats, but theyre spotlessly clean, and very friendly, and well cared for, and we loved having them there. The pool was a total no go, it was absolutely freezing, the sea was warm enough to swim in though.
The beach is ok, in the winter, it’s very bleak, and the walk to old Side, is a hotch potch of lovely & horrible looking hotels, but with really rank looking beach fronts with just the metal frames left for the summer sunshades.
We had a nightmare with our transfer, and reception helped us to sort it out, they also helped us with excursions.
For £800 for us both for a week in sunshine over Christmas, it was value for money.
No i don't think the hotel is a 5 star, but its a good 3+, but i'm not sure really what others are expecting for the price being paid. The Hotel is a smaller hotel and caters for a more relaxed holiday and was perfect for what we were looking for. Yes the main clientele are from Germany and given that its their bread and butter it stands to reason that they would cater towards them.
We arrived late due to a flight delay and we were checked in swiftly and politely by reception, given a top floor room which i requested, not with a direct sea view unfortunately but close enough (in hindsight this was a mistake as all the evening entertainment is by the bar and can be very noisy, but it didn't really stop any of us from sleeping). We were advised that although the main restaurant closed at 9pm, there was food provided at the patisserie, which included cold meats, cheeses, lots of salad, soup and some hot meals, which was perfect as filled a hole before we sent to bed.
Our Room was clean and functional i don't have any complaints, the drains were a bit pongy but that resolved itself after 4 showers, to be expected with all the dry weather. There was a safe which you pay 2 euros a day for which we utilised and a mini bar which was stocked everyday with bottles of water, coke, fanta, and some juices.
The main buffet restaurant had a large selection of choices, and yes very continental but why go abroad if you are expecting bacon and egg. The extend of the food on offer, someone should find something to eat. All fresh salads and vegetables, there is even a kids buffet for the fussiest of eaters (pasta, nuggets, chips etc). Outside by the bar they have a set up for cooking breakfast they do omelettes and fresh pancakes, and for dinner its a grilled meat and fish. The Garden Restaurant does personal pizzas, Burger and lovely Jacket Potatoes, and the Beach restaurant is similar to main buffet but on a much smaller scale, although there is a lovely lady doing quesadillas sweet and savoury.
The Main buffet has a different themed dinner most evenings and there is entertainment every night with the exception of Sunday.
The Beach is kept clean and there are plenty of loungers both in shade and sun, given the time of year i found the sea warmer than the pool as its not heated but it didn't stop the kids from being in there.
I found the staff to be very friendly some speaking good English some don't but i never found any trouble conveying my requests. Not in anyway did I find them rude, they are a little abrupt but thats the nature.
Side Town itself is definitely worth a visit and you can catch the Dolmus from the main road it takes between 5-10 minutes to get into town depending on traffic and is about 100 lira for a family of 4 so just over £3.
All in all we had a lovely holiday and we would return.
Only part of Seher hotel that worth the rating hotel is the lovely elderly gentleman who driver you from pool to beach.
Don't book it this hotel if you are black please bare in mind that it doesn't matter if you have the same religion as some the people who work inside this hotel as they view themselves as European first then Muslim second. They only cater to white Europeans/or Turkish, and blatant incidents of racist by their staff get ignored.
So I would recommend EVERYONE to steer clear of the hairdresser on the lower floor. Pedicure/manicure, Ouch! Oh terrible job done.
