Beautifull villa on the cliff facing Tirrenian sea. Large comfortable room, modern shower, direct access to garden with small lawn, steep staircase over the cliff leading to the beach, parking is available. Friendly owner meets you on arrival and wish you safe trip on departure. Tasty breakfast on veranda with beautifull views. The best beach for swimming and snorkeling in the area. Highly recommended for stay.
Wow amazing views from this villa. The way its laid out means every room should have a view. Breakfast included – croissants, fruit – served on the terrace overlooking the sea. On arrival there is an electric gate, you need to phone the villa to open the gate, the road to the villa is quite steep (glad I had a automatic for the way back up). Its a bit of a walk back up (but do able). Not good for guests with mobility issues as lots of steps around the villa. Book in was simple and hosts were lovely. Rooms are pretty basic, but not needed with the view. Nicely decorated bathrooms. About a 10 minute walk to the centre with plenty of bars and restaurants. There is a private walkway down to beach (again a lot of steps – so need to be fit (ish).
Words will only minimize the incredible and brilliantly beautiful destination that is Villa Crawford. The location is breath taking, (and I have traveled my entire life) Villa Crawford will remain my favorite place to visit and will choose them every time I come to Italy. What I mean to say is, I would rather be here than anywhere else, not just in Italy. The owner Andrea has become a part of our extended family and provides the very best service and environment possible.Though I was just there with friends in Sept. 2018, my family and I will be returning June 2019, I will soon be at peace and my heart happy when I return to Villa Crawford.
Villa Crawford was a gem to find in San Nicola Arcella. Our comfortable room with balcony provided sweeping views of the rugged coastline, Crawford Tower, the Prince's home, Dino Island and beaches toward Praia a Mare. The owner, Andrea and his staff, Isabella and Agnieszka made us feel welcome and spared no effort to make us feel comfortable and relaxed. Breakfasts were bountiful, delicious and included seasonal fruits. The only challenging aspect of our visit was parking, which, given the location of the villa, would have been easier had we a smaller vehicle. Definitely would return.
Our evaluation of the room, view, and service would be a 4.5 were it not for the very difficult parking experience. We spent one night here on our way to Reggio Calabria. It is located on a steep hillside, which provides the advantage of a great view of the sea and adjacent coastline, but makes access difficult. We knew to follow the signs to the nearby Il Principe hotel but we were not expecting the extremely steep, narrow, downhill slope to the left of Il Principe. There are a couple of "rooftop" spaces halfway down the hill just before the Villa Crawford sign. Other parking is at the very bottom of the steep hill below the villa, where the lane becomes flat. Either parking site requires going up or down stairs to get to the villa. Getting out of the upper parking space was a challenge to put it mildly. One had to back out onto the lane without hitting the stone wall or the curb and then get back up the steep hill. No thank you. Otherwise, the room was attractive, primarily because of the stunning view. Furnishings included a double bed with two night tables, AC, luggage rack, chair (used for our second rollerboard), tray, closet with safe, fridge, and hangers. There was a lovely balcony with two chairs and table. The very large bathroom had a generous shower, towel warmer, and toiletries. Wifi was good. Upstairs, there is a large terrace for lounging and breakfast. We were the only guests, off season, so everything was quiet. We walked up the slope to have dinner at the Il Principe, where we were the only customers. Continental breakfast included strawberries, coffee, cake, jams, and croissants. Another note: make sure you know how to use the key to the main door. Our key was very difficult and took several frustrating tries to get the door open from the outside.…
