I've stayed at the Marriott in Times Square and I've stayed in a tent at the Black Sea. What I learnt to love about a place in the end is its atmosphere. As long as it has the commodities - clean, warm, hot water, clean bed, LARGE breakfast. And we found each and every one of the them at La...

My 3 night stay at La Colina Lodge was the best of my entire months expedition to Costa Rica, and this is why: I'll be honest, the rooms are a bit rough (even though a lot better than anywhere else we had stayed), but this only adds to the experience of being in Central America. Either way, I found this...

The owner, Kevin, is very friendly and an excellent cook. The rooms are very comfortable and there are warm showers, which is nice because the weather there is quite cold. Overall a really nice place to stay.

I stayed in this hotel as part of a group of 21 people on a world challenge expdition this sumer. After staying in several, not great hotels, this place was excellent. The rooms were clean and roomy, while the hot showerss were marvelous. The best thing about this hotel was the food the owner kevin cooked for us. Being on...

Kevin makes a mean American style breakfast! The conversation was great too. The Monteverde national park is just a 20 minute hike up the road, fantastic location. The thing we most enjoyed was the beautiful view out the back of the lodge that looks out across the mountain tops down to the Pacific Ocean.

This lodge is right in Monteverde, close to everything! We walked to most places. Everyone working at the Lodge made us feel at home. They were very informative, friendly and accommodating. We loved eating the good food at the large dining area with beautifully painted chairs and tables by the owner's wife. We watched the humming birds from the windows...

We found the lodge to be unique and interestingly inviting. The decor is very original and quaint; the owner's wife is the fabulous artist who designs and paints the furniture and rooms with cheerful and colorful designs. My son and I loved our stay; the animals, monkeys, birds, flora, sunsets were lovely and inspirational. Our breakfast and dinner were what...

The rooms were sparse and dirty. Not enough covers for the beds and it was chilly out. Bed linens smelled badly of mold and mildew. The nice lady who checked us in in the eveining never returned- we left (around 11 am) the next morning. No hot water and no one to report it to. Walls were thin and much...

My friends and I were looking for a place out of the rush of the main town and La Colina Lodge fit the bill perfectly. Kevin, the owner was quite helpful and hospitable. The breakfast was good, especially the coffee. It was a relaxing place with tidy rooms, hot showers, and a great porch on which to relax and enjoy...
