This lodge was so perfect for my stay in Monte Verde. It is close to the famous Cloud Forests which made day trip there easy. There is also a bat museum and butterfly sanctuary down the road which were also interesting to visit. The rooms and bathrooms were very clean and well taken care of. One of the best parts...

Overall it's a decent place. It's one of the furthest away from the main town so walking to the Main Street isn't really an option. You'll need a car. It's basically a converted farm so the grounds are quite nice with roosters and chickens walking around. Rooms are very basic and moderately clean. Fairly old place but ok value for...

Rooms are dingy, as are towels and terrible pillows. No one is taking care of this place and the manager seems like he could care less. Could be really charming if it was cleaned and updated a bit. It's too bad, but I really can't recommend this place, even at $25 a night.

Our tour guide has used this hotel for her clients for years but our experience was not very satisfactory. When we mentioned this to her, she said that the property had recently changed hands and she would no longer be working with them. At check in, they told us our reservation did not include breakfast although our tour guide had...

We enjoyed our stay at La Colina Lodge. Andrea on reception was really helpful in booking tours and our onward accommodation. She even came in on her day off to make us an early breakfast! On the downside the shower was cold on the first day and our room felt quite small and dated.

We staid in December 2014 in La Colina Lodge - mainly because we found the website very convincing. The reality however is different: our room (though one of the higher priced rooms with "private bathroom") are very shabby, warm water did not work. We slept in our clothes simply because the room was too cold and the blankets felt moist...

I came to Monteverde in 2013 as part of a couple of years touring Costa Rica, and stayed at La Colina Lodge because it was recommended by a Doctor I met while studying at an environmental learning center in Mastatal, Costa Rica. I was so happy here, I stayed for months and returned to La Colina in 2014 for several...

Nowadyas i owned and just as hommy as way back then. By a North American woman (Nancy). The original main building and most of the original Quakers moorabilia still on...

A peaceful and serene setting on an organic farm, lively arts and music scene. Breakfast was farm fresh eggs and homemade jam and rolls, everything here is fresh from the farm. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful w/ directions and activity planning, enjoyed a meditation session w/ one of the staff. Great place to chill after the surf trip...

This is such a cozy spot. We arrived and instantly started breathing at a slower pace, finding true peace being nestled into this lodge right at the edge of the Monteverde Reserve. Staff is friendly and place is clean. Great price. It's a happy spot I now dream of going back to!
