We stayed here for my 30th birthday. Very spacious room with balcony looking out over the forest. We would often see stunning rainbows! We enjoyed cocktails and one breakfast at the hotel bar restaurant on the balcony with beautiful views. Only downsides were it was a trek to get to the town so taxis definitely needed! Also food and drinks were very expensive.

We stayed 2 nights with our 3 kids. We couldn't fit in one room so we had 2 rooms next to one another, not connecting though. The rooms are cabin like with wood floors and walls. The balcony was spacious, well furnished and with amazing views. The restaurant was excellent, the best farm to table cuisine I have ever had anywhere. Breakfast is not included in the room rate, but that's ok because the food was phenomenal, well priced, excellent service and amazing view. We were disappointed the farm was 25 minutes away and you had to book an excursions to go there. There is also no pool, but there is a beautiful pond and dock for swimming and a lovely hot tub. We also very much enjoyed the sprawling garden which serves the restaurant. Many varieties of vegetables and herbs all well taken care of. Location was great, just a 1 0 min drive to town. Highly recommend for anyone, families, couples, honeymooners.

My husband and I took our honeymoon to Costa Rica in January 2020. Belmar was our second stop and we loved it. It is a magical hidden gem of a hotel. They set up a private transport for us to get there and the driver was friendly, safe, and on time. The hotel itself is incredible. Our room had its own private indoor jacuzzi that overlooked the forest. We loved it. The restaurant had delicious fresh food and the cocktails were amazing. The view from the restaurant is incredible. We spent most afternoons watching the sun go down from there with a delicious cocktail in hand! They set up all our excursions and tours for us without any hassle. We did both a night hike on the property as well as the hanging bridges and zip-lining a short drive away. We would recommend both! The town was a nice walk away, we spent one afternoon exploring the quaint town. Lastly, we loved the complimentary yoga class and the juice bar right next store. This hotel went above and beyond and we would 100% recommend.

Hotel Belmar is a magical place - so quaint and charming. The highlight was the incredible food, the friendly staff, and just the environment. We took advantage of the hotel farm tour and met Andrea who was our guide - she was AMAZING. Highly recommend doing the tour of the farm and learning from her how they work hard to ensure a carbon neutral process. So so amazing and she was so lovely/intelligent!

My boyfriend and I decided to treat ourselves for a couple nights of our vacation and stay somewhere a bit more luxurious. Hotel Belmar exceeded our expectations. Our room and the view were absolutely gorgeous, and the service from all team members was exceptional! The food (and drinks!) at the restaurant was super fresh and delicious, and the excursions we took from the hotel were amazing experiences. We did the After Horus tour with Ernest at the private reserve, Savia. It was an incredible thing to experience the cloud forest in the dark and Ernest was so knowledgeable, we learned so much. The hospitality including the food and drinks on this tour was even outstanding! We also did the horseback riding at the Hotel's farm. Madre Tierra. It was just the tour of us and our tour guides. We got to see incredible scenery and again at the end of the tour, they gave us a fresh, homemade snack of fried egg, and fresh tortilla, as well as cheese empanadas all made from their farm ingredients. And lastly, we did the Garden to Glass class with Oscar at the Hotel, where we got to explore the green house on site, choose our own herbs and flowers to create a custom cocktail while learning all about the sustainable practices of the hotel. Our only regret was not staying at this hotel longer throughout our stay in Monteverde!
