First, parts that can be better: The hotel is the closest to the Reserve - however, the road in and out of the hotel to the town and almost all other activities (except the Reserve, I suppose) is very bumpy and not a short ride, either, especially when the weather is wet. The amenities of the hotel can be better:...

We stayed in a mountain suite which had a great view of the cloud forrest opposite. The room was great – loads of space, clean and nicely done out. It's not luxurious, but it is down to earth comfort. The staff were very helpful in recommending tours (do the Trapiche coffee/chocolate/sugar tour and spend a day in Monteverde reserve -...

The view from the mountain suite is unreal. Staff is nice. Don't expect a lot of fluff, it's a quaint and humble, but large family owned establishment that has an amazing location tucked away from the main hotel area. The hotel's diligence to their sustainability accreditation is evident. The restaurant is nothing to rave about, but served its purpose with...

Like other posters, I'll say it's a bit tired, When we got to our room after a day's driving to find our room had such a bad damp smell it made us both sneeze and feel a bit 'ick' . They changed our room on request which was better but it kind of put a dampener (so to speak) on...

We really enjoyed our two night stay at Trapp. The staff was very friendly and the property was well maintained. They even took our dinner order before the night tour and had it ready upon our return. We also really liked the fact that the property was situated away from town. In fact it was the last hotel before reaching...

Disappointing stay here. Low season, rooms are tired, bathroom quite dirty and very damp. Needs refurbishment. Breakfast and staff very friendly though. You can get a taxi into town for $10 and recommend doing so as dinner and bar closes at 8pm

Great family hotel. Excellent room with a view. If you enjoy nature, this is where you come to be a part of it. If you enjoy extreme sports, here is where you find it. Try to dine at the hotel's restaurant one evening... Try the Trapp tacos, just delicious.

Lovely hotel with very friendly and helpful staff. Large room overlooking the cloud forest, so peaceful. Clean and spacious. Breakfast was served to you at your table, menu was the same for lunch and dinner, not a huge choice but the food was always very good and large portions. Very close to Monteverde National Park and Humming bird cafe. Receptionist...

We visited in low season so there were not many guests. Room was a good size with great view of wooded hillsides and garden. The menu for lunch and dinner seemed rather old-fashioned (1970s pub style) though the steaks were very good. Due to lack of guests there were maybe only 4 people in dining room at any time, rather...

Our stay at the hotel was great. The room was very nice with an amazing view out over the cloud forest. It is just a short walk to the Cloud Forest Reserve. The staff was extremely helpful and basically acted as our travel agents; we showed up with nothing planned and a lot of ideas, and they helped us make...
