Were lucky to have stayed at the Trapp Family Lodge while in Monteverde, everyone was so helpful and friendly. The hotel is just beautiful! rooms are comfortable and clean, took the longest showers ever! had breakfast, lunch and dinner and the food was delicious! Highly recommended! Gracias Sra. Amelia & Andres por todas las atenciones!

The hotel is clean. Staff are nice. The rooms are clean. The restaurant was good. The rooms on the lower level are a bit dark. You really need the lights on to see. My main complaint was the darkness of my room and the lack of a place to sit outside the room. For example, there are no garden with...

I booked the Trapp Family Lodge because of it's proximity to the Cloud Forest. However, I didn't know how far away it was from town. With constant rain and cold wind, we spent more time in town than in the forest. We loved the adventure of the road getting to the lodge. We did not have 4 wheel drive, but...

This looked like a really good place to stay to do the canopy tours and see the Cloud Forest. Good points - The staff at reception were very welcoming and helpful It appears a lot better than many of the other lodges advertised. Good views but better if you ask for a room on the first floor 10 minutes from...

We were here, as a family of five spread across two rooms, for three days after Christmas. The mixed reviews had lowered my expectations, but we all agreed that the hotel was wonderful. The rooms were spacious (we were in 3 and 4); the much-maligned breakfast was better than adequate (shout out for the gallo pinto); and we enjoyed an...

We hated the hotel right from the start. No facilities. The room had a view but was in a ‘cell block’ of 4 rooms. Well way from the town and facilities along another very bumpy road. The only benefit was that it was a short walk from the cloud forest. Food was OK.

My sister and I stayed there. Beautiful place and views, super comfy and clean rooms. Make sure you carry a light rain coat! Food and restaurant staff: outstanding!!! Roads are bumpy and the weather can be too cold and rainy - but it is worth it.

This Lodge has a beautiful view of the rain forest and is such a quaint and sweet place. They have a dining room that had good foot and reasonable prices. It is very well kept grounds and friendly staff.

Had a great experience here in December 2016 with my girlfriend. We had one of the suites available, which was very clean and roomy with a great view of the mountains. It is a little bit of an uphill walk to get to the suites on top but definitely worth it. The hotel has a very homie atmosphere, everything is...

Very average hotel off the beaten track. 15 minutes from the nearest town down a very bumpy track. hotel was very clean and basic but as we have found in Costa Rica- food, especially lunch is expensive and underwhelming and this epitomised the feeling we have of being fleeced wherever we go. The staff were pretty uncommunicative and didn't volunteer...
