Everything about the Hidden Canopy is absolutely fantastic! Our stay with Jenn and her staff was magical from start to finish. The customer service she provides is off the charts. The breakfast they serve every morning is huge and delicious, and the view of the cloud forest canopy spread out before you and all of the hummingbird buzzing around the gorgeous gardens is just unparalleled. We stayed in the Avalon Treehouse and saw green toucans and so many other forms of wildlife right from our balcony. The shower and jacuzzi tub are amazing and the sheets on our bed were so soft! This was our splurge stay for our trip and it was worth every penny. Jenn took such good care of us and the tours she suggested were incredible and fun - we had a blast and learned a lot at the same time. I honestly can’t recommend this place enough. Go! You’ll love it!

You'd be forgiven for being suspicious when you see a perfect 5-star rating based on >50 reviews... but Jen's place in the cloud forest of Monteverde deserves every single one of them. Firstly, the location & cabins themselves are just something out of a fairytale (or Instagram viral post..!) - being that high up in the trees & surrounded by the sounds of the rainforest, its inhabitants, and its rain, while safely protected from all the bugs/insects/etc + with all comforts provided for... it's just unlike anywhere else. Secondly, and equally importantly, Jen is a truly exceptional, intuitive host. We got so many delicious freebies in the room on arrival; were lucky to learn so much about the surrounding fauna/flora and top tips on getting around / getting the most out of our brief visit / get basically a private-driver experience at v reasonable pricing through her contacts. Critically, she also treats her staff extremely well - the place has a homely, familial feel. Down to the banana bread she had baked & packed in our early-morning to-go breakfast just because I'd mentioned I love banana bread in the preceding breakfast... what a wonderful touch that sealed a perfect trip for us. Thank you for everything, Jen! We'll be back!

What an amazing, magical place! The setting is spectacular, and the owner goes out of her way to take personal care of every guest. We arrived to a delicious welcome dessert, Tres Leches cake for the adults and a chocolate cake for my teenage son, both were awesome. The treehouses themselves are amazing, each designed to maximize the feeling of being immersed in the cloud forest. We stayed in Rivendell and it was perfect for our family of 4. Our treehouse had a spectacular view of the Gulf of Nicoya in the distance, and almost 360 degree views of the forest around us. Breakfast is amazing, not only was the food delicious but the presentation was beautiful, We had fabulous french toast one morning and banana pancakes the next, and every day they had delicious typical CR foods including rice and beans and plantains. As amazing as the food was, the view is even better. Right outside the window of the restaurant is a fantastic hummingbird garden, we must have seen 10 different species with dozens of humming birds flying around, one even landed on my son's finger! I could sit and watch them all day. The owner also built a series of walking trails through the property which were great, we saw toucanets and an agouti as well as beautiful plants and some busy leaf cutter ants, and at night with the lights on in our treehouse we had dozens of moths fly to our windows, some of them were really spectacular looking. What an amazing place and a fantastic way to begin our visit to Costa Rica. Highly recommend to everyone, if we get the chance to come back to CR we will definitely stay here again.

This was a return trip to Hidden Canopy for our honeymoon! Jenn, the owner, is an absolute LOVE and bends over backwards to make sure your stay is as perfect as it can be! She can book excursions for you, such as a nature walk which we took. It was amazing and our guide, Koki, was so knowledgeable and taught us so much and found rare birds and animals for us! We stayed in the Avalon treehouse. It was a huge, luxurious, 5 star suite made of local wood, polished to perfection, with a large patio with lounge chairs overlooking the preserve. Birds of many kinds can be seen and heard from there. We saw 3 toucans fly by!!!! There were also white faced capuchin monkeys right outside our treehouse. I was fortunate to get a few photos before they went on their way. Breakfast each morning was an event in itself. Overlooking the preserve, with the windows open, you are first served fresh fruit , your choice of eggs and whatever the special of the day is, along with fresh baked breads, juice, coffee, tea. Everything is made on premises in the professional kitchen inside the house. Jenn is present during breakfast, chatting with guests before they go on their way. There is a photo of the breakfast area on this site. Yes, it's that gorgeous. We will be back next year to this beautiful, peaceful paradise in the Cloud Forest of Monteverde. We give it a TEN star recommendation!!!!! When you visit, you will see why it got Trip Advisor's Best of the Best award again this year.

This is the best place we have ever stayed in all all of our many travels. To start, the place is beautiful! From the rooms to the common areas (dining room, gardens, walkways, hiking trail), all details of the property were very well thought out. The construction is amazing and all the materials are put together to match to nature in a away that makes you feel you are always outside (even if you are inside). The decor selection is a compliment to the construction and fits together so well. Our room (Avalon) was spectacular! There is nothing we have been at to compare it to. During the day, you can see all the way to the ocean. At night, you can see every star in the sky. There were lots of little amenities in the room that made it special. We had a snack box, teas, coffee, milk and sweeteners. There was also a yoga mat and dehumidifier which came in handy each day! The bathroom was stocked well with everything you would need for your home away from home. The breakfast was phenomenal every day. We really couldnt get over how good it was each morning. The fruit was fresh, the coffee was so good and the homemade bread with butter and preserves were second to none. For the hospitality, Jenn (the owner) was gracious and attentive. We were so thankful for her assistance during our stay and enjoyed our morning conversations during breakfast. She was very helpful with coordinating our activities and suggesting places to eat. It added so much to our experience to get to know her. The location is off the beaten path between the main city and a few of the major attractions. There is a parking lot on the property for those travelers with cars. If you dont have a car, the taxis pick you up from the treehouse and take you most places in the city for $5 each way. We recommend this place to any one who wants a once in a lifetime, unique experience and to travel somewhere off the beaten path but still have the amenities from home.
