We have absolutely enjoyed our holiday at Royal Garden Beach between 28/10/2023-06/11/2023 as a family of 6, aged 19-74. Having arrived at Antalya Airport we were pleasantly surprised about the free 30-minute Wi-Fi, although you require an identity card or passport to obtain the connection code. The private transfer was easy to locate and took approximately 1hr 30mins with a stop midway. We were greeted by very friendly and professional hotel reception staff who checked-in and provided all necessary information. It was nice to know that hotel staff speak multiple languages. Throughout our stay, we found the reception staff extremely helpful and efficient at resolving all types of requests, ranging from providing general information about Turkey to booking a taxi which always arrived within 5min. The hotel has an exceptionally helpful bellboy who has taken all our bags into our rooms, shown around the hotel and introduced us to our rooms, showing how to operate safe, Air-Conditioning, etc. We have booked 2 Family Rooms which were rather spacious and provided plenty of storage options. The Family Room for 4 people had 1 double bed and 2 single sofas which is not ideal for adults, but given how little time we have spent indoors it was not an issue. The room had minibar, restocked daily with still water, sparkling water, Coca-Cola, Fanta and FuseTea. A kettle, 2 mugs, coffee, tea and sugar were also provided. There was also free safe, TV with plenty of channels, separate Air-Conditioning in each room, balcony and free Wi-Fi. The internet connection was slow, but we had signal almost everywhere in the hotel, even on the beach. We have decided to avoid buying a local SIM card because they were more expensive than our O2 Travel Bolt-On. The room also had hair drier, handwash, shower gel and hair shampoo. You can also get an extra room key at the reception if you require. We were genuinely surprised how clean the hotel is. The floor is constantly washed; however, it does get very slippery by the pools so be careful. The rooms are cleaned very well by a team of rather creative cleaning staff who surprised us each day with new towel animals. The room towels were changed daily and were always spotless. Overall, the hotel has elegant décor, ideal for pictures! The private sandy (little rocks towards water) beach is situated 5min from the main building with a vast amount of clean sun loungers and umbrellas, enough for everyone. They are however placed far from water but you are free to reposition them as you like. There was no need to reserve sun loungers early in the morning as there were always a few empty available throughout the day. The beach towels can be exchanged each day at the Spa Centre if required. The hotel’s animation team is incredible! These fun and caring people organise activities throughout the day for kids and adults to ensure everyone has something to do. This includes; table tennis, beach volleyball, step-aerobic, darts and shooting range. There are also 2 pool tables and games room run by a very friendly young man, but these facilities require payment. Live Saxophone available on Sundays in the Premium Building 17:00-19:00. There are different daily shows (21:00-22:00) in the amphitheatre run by the animation team to entertain the guests after the dinner. Following that, there are lottery, disco and music nights in the White Bar. Majority of the activities are run in at least 4 languages simultaneously, ensuring everyone can participate. The Spa Centre staff are very sympathetic and competent who speak many languages. We have booked a Sauna, Hamam and Massage package which was amazing. It was so good that some of us even booked additional massage sessions, masseuse really know what they are doing! It is worth noting that you should take extra pair of swimwear as you will likely be covered in massage oil that is hard to clean off. Spa Centre also has an indoor swimming pool with a few sun loungers if you wish to relax after massage or sauna. You will also find a spacious Gym nearby (open 08:30-18:30) with good range of sporting equipment, enough for everyone’s need. The hotel has 2 buffets serving a variety of world cuisine. We have discovered that buffet in the premium building was generally emptier so it was easier locating an empty table for 6 people. The tables were cleaned very fast. The food is identical in both buffets and served as follows: Breakfast (07:00-10:30), Lunch (12:30-14:00), Dinner (18:30-20:30), Night Soup (21:00-01:00), Mini Breakfast (01:00-07:00). We would strongly suggest the hotel’s management amending dinner times to 18:00-21:00 because there were too many people during opening and very little food towards closing. The food was replenished fast, but some dishes were only available in limited amount, therefore it is best to get there early to try the best dishes as they wouldn’t be available again. The dinners followed a theme; Monday – Italian, Wednesday – Turkish and Sunday – Seafood. We wish there was more food from Turkish night available throughout the week, as it was amazing! The dining staff primarily spoke Turkish so finding out allergen information was difficult, best to avoid dishes you are not sure about. The hotel provided diverse dishes to cater for everyone’s needs and we have always found something to eat. The hotel had delicious meat, fish, vegetables, chips, rice, salads and desserts which were hard to resist. Majority of the hot dishes had a label with the name of the dish written in 4 languages. Cold dishes and desserts did not have that, which made it difficult determining what it was. Breakfast was same everyday with limited options. All pasta dishes were sadly tasteless. Apart from Baklava, Pide and Lahmacun there was very little authentic Turkish food. We would be very interested to try Dolma, Kofte, Kebab, Perde Pilav, Simit or even Doner at the snack bar. The hotel provided a range of seasonal fruits, yet we did not find any berries in the hotel. The pool Snack Bar (12:00-16:30) served burgers, chips, vegetables, pasta and fruit whereas beach Snack Bar (12:00-15:00) mainly focused on Pizza and Pide. On your way to the beach, you will also find Gozleme and Ayran, open daily (11:00-16:00). However, the lady would either give you a pre-made gozleme which was cold or say she was closed for some time. One person cooking caused long queues, and meat gozleme was finished very quickly, leaving cheese for the rest of the day. Adding another cook would be very beneficial as they would be able to accommodate more people. The patisserie (10:30-12:30 & 14:00-18:00) serves desserts similar to the ones you can find during the dinner with an addition of Ice Cream, which can only be eaten within the facilities. The Italian, Chinese, Turkish and Fish A’la Carte Restaurants are booked 1 day in advance at Guest Relator (09:00). All are closed on Wednesdays. We have tried Turkish which we found very slow, the main dish was given to us after about 2 hours and plain water tasted of bleach in this restaurant. We had to order juice instead. We have also tried Chinese which we liked more, the atmosphere and food was great. Nonetheless, after both restaurants we (and many others) went back to the main buffets in order to eat more food as the portions in the restaurants are tiny. There are 5 bars in total. Suite Lobby Bar (10:00-24:00), Premium Lobby Bar (07:00-24:00), Bistro Bar (21:00-07:00), Blue Bar (10:00-24:00), Beach Bar (10:00-18:00). Each bar had a good choice of alcoholic drinks and very tasty local beer. On the other hand, there were little options for non-alcoholic drinks and cocktails. The available cocktails were rather sweet. The glasses at the beach bar were not washed, only rinsed which does raise some hygienic concerns. You could taste the previous drink if you have ordered plain water, or even see lipstick on some glasses. Hot chocolate & coffee machines placed around the hotel made same drinks differently in terms of taste, the best taste was in the Lobby Bar. The hotel is located 20min away by taxi (15 Euro) from Alanya Centrum and about 10min by foot from Time Centre with plenty of shops, bazar and restaurants which serve all types of common food. We had no problem using Euro to pay for everything, although they are also happy to accept Dollar and Turkish Lira. Be prepared that each seller attempts to lure you into their shop. It is always advised to bargain with the seller in order to reduce the price as initially they will quote double the amount. There are plenty of things to do and see in Turkey, you can either book excursions or rent a vehicle in order to visit them yourself. We have discovered that excursions are expensive in the hotel, so we advise you to book them outside, plenty nearby. Hotel provided 1 free trip to Alanya Centre for shopping, booked via Guide. Essentially, the driver takes you to the high street and you agree where and when they will pick you up to drive you back to the hotel. Hotel provides free parking and IDP is not required to rent a vehicle. Overall, the hotel delivered high quality service which is fully reflected in 5 stars. Beautiful atmosphere, staff always polite and smiling, great entertainment, relaxing spa, delicious food and exceptional beach. We have made some great friends and lasting memories. We can definitely recommend this hotel to everyone! Huge thanks and best wishes to everyone at Royal Garden Beach!…
