I was hesitant to write this review while we still live here but I just wanted to warn people before taking the plunge. This building is all smoke and mirrors, on the exterior it looks beautiful, grand lobby, great pool, BUT it ends there. Management is AWFUL! We have lived in high end luxury rentals for a bit as we move around often and we know the name of the game. This has been one of the most inexperienced staff we have ever dealt with. Emails aren’t responded to, if you need something to get done in your apartment youre looking at a 2-4 month wait. (My washigh machine has yet to be fixed from JUNE 2018!!!) The emails management send out are of bullying nature, they treat this building like a college dormatory. The cleaning staff, conceirge, and super are constantly changing as no one wants to work here for longer then a month or two (and while they work here they bad mouth management to tenants). In addition, staff often lingers by your door so you are obligated to give a tip for any sort of help. Tenants have complained of money being missing from their dwellings so I would tread lightly if you are thinking of putting a parent in this building as the elderly seem to be a target. Also if you are a hotel guest you should know that staff often takes naps in hotel rooms... gross. We moved in with our three year old and while living here we had a baby girl. The building is built in a way that the walls are paper thin, the tenants downstairs don’t really like families and bang with a baseball bat anytime we make any movement. This happens around 5-7x a week, and has gotten quite embarrassing when we have guests. Management has known of this issue since October and have not done anything to mitigate the issue with both parties. The tenant downstairs has cursed me and my children in front of management, and all managements response was “shes a hot headed italian”. If you have small children I say this whole heartedly STAY AWAY!!!! Although this building has a playroom it is NOT child friendly. We pay a ton of money to live here and instead of being warm and kind, they are ok with calling my three year old an “animal” and “spawn of satan” in what kind of world do people SPEAK THIS WAY!!!!??? As for lease renewal, they increase your rent by 20 percent annually, also find bogus reasons to not renew your lease, like if you make any sort of complaint. Again, management is not equipped to handle rhis many tenants. In my opinion, beachwood cheaped out and hired inexperienced management staff ( a former teacher 🤷🏻‍♀️) had they hired someone with more experience this building would Have the potential to be great. Overall, the building cheaps out in many ways hence why its not truly luxury and in my opinion will never be. FYI this building is also NOT dog friendly. While they say they welcome animals, theres literally no where to walk your dog, the restaurants garbage is everywhere ( see picture of dead fish attached) and makes for an unpleasant environment. My dog has never been more depressed then living here I suspect its because we walk him by a busy highway and he cant let out his pent up energy. This is a lengthy review but if I can help just one person from the turmoil I dealt with all year then I’d say its worth it. Please do yourself a favor and Dont move in to the vanderbilt. I promise youll thank me!
