In short, hotel is in a good location, very clean, 300 m from the railway station Zambrone and stores. Closest city is Tropea, and you can reach it by train in 10-15 min. Tropea is very nice city, mixture of old and new, full of shops and restaurants, where you can enjoy tasting traditional Italian food. The hotel is composed of several buildings, which have been positioned in cascades towards the sea. the sea view of the Zambrone bay, from the balcony is magnificant, and when the weather is good you can see the Stromboli vulcano as well. hotel staff is very polite, food is very tasty. for breakfast you have a typical Italian buffet, not too many things, mainly based on backery, ham, cheese and cerials. For lunch and dinner, you can pick two dishes from the menu that changes daily. First one (starter) is usually pasta and second one (main course) is some dish with meat, fish or else. water and wine (white and red) are included in price, and for everything else you must pay separately. For lunch and dinner is also available buffet with salads and cold dishes, but the quantities are limited and if you don’t come on the beginning of meal, you won’t have a large choice. My biggest disappointment was fact that during the meals you don’t have the selection of fresh fruits. The swimming pool is small but very nice and clean, with large part adapted for children. Beach is around 500 m from hotel, and hotel provided the electric car which goes every few minutes from the hotel to the beach for free. The beach is partly sandy, partly with gravells, and large part of the beach is reserved for hotel guests with free umbrelas and sunbeads.

Beautiful location. Spacious, lovely rooms. Friendly and helpful staff. Good food. Many beautiful places to see around if you have a car. Or you can go with your tour agent. My favourite were the Eolian islands. You will An amazing view of Stromboli vulcano. Would love to come back.

This Hotel has a beautiful beach, but unfortunately also has a mad Lifeguard on the beach, who poisons the mood of the guests. He not only discriminates between Italian and International guests, but also loudly quarrels with international guests and regulates them constantly and angrily with his 10 words English vocabulary. Angrily drags ladies' sunbed out of shadow to the sunshine, - several times per day!!! Closes the umbrellas, while dresses are hanging under it. And what is the most outrageous; guests have to walk to the next public beach if they wanted to swim in the sea, because mad man just cannot stop blowing his whistle. Definitely he has no clue, what would be his job. I have never ever experienced similar to this.

(Unforgettable selections of different pasta every day plus fish, meat and starters of various kinds). Big, clean pool. We stayed a week in the hotel Scoglio del Leone and enjoyed our stay very much. Hotel is very nice, most of the rooms have wonderful view, meal was good, people very friendly and helpful. Not much to see round (unless you rent a car or go for a trip organized by travel agency or by hotel) but the beach with a crystal clear sea was big plus.

In this hotel I was for the first time. It is very well located, near the Tropea (only 9 km), Pizzo, Capo Vaticano. All these wonderful places you can comfortable get by train, station is only 5 minutes away from the hotel. Train in hotel is not at all to hear, you do not have to worry about noise. The hotel is situated in a beautiful garden with nice clean pool which gave option to swim well. I was staying in the main building of the hotel. The room with functioning air conditioning, fridge, safe and TV was everyday cleaning. Every day gave us clean towels, shampoo, toilet paper. The room terrace has a beautiful view of the sea, Tropea and the Aeolian Islands. Although the furniture in the room is a little older, the overall impression of the room was very good. Food in the hotel was very good. Breakfast rich, we could choose eggs, scrambled eggs, ham, sausage, muesli, yogurt, fresh croasanty, jam, honey, fruit, vegetables .... very good. Lunch and dinner are ordered in the morning .. we always had two courses, the first (primi) two kinds of pasta, second (secondy) meat or fish, for lunch fruit and for dinner fantastic dessert...moreover piza, salads and various goodies and of course good red and white wine. Very good atmosphere in the hotels restaurant created waiters. The hotel staff was very friendly and always willing to help. The hotel's beach is beautiful with stunning sea and white sand. Entry to the sea is slow with small stones. The beach has also the part where you can snorkel. On the beach is available to everyone comfortable couches, chairs and umbrella for free. You can rent a pedal boat or a small boat, lifeguard was very helpful. From the hotel to the beach we got by electric cars, which were still available. The overall impression of the hotel is excellent, I met friendly people, very good hotel staff and services, restarurant with tasty foods and I can say I had a really lovely holiday. I saw other hotels in this area (Zambrone, Capo Vaticano) and I think hotel Scoglio del Leone is among the best. I recommend this hotel to all my friends and I believe I return to this beautiful place of Calabria. Grazie:-)))

We spent the most beautiful seven days in your hotel. Your hotel is excellent, with brilliant location ( not far from the sea and the train station). The staff was very friendly, always ready to help us. The rooms were cleaned everyday (new soaps, new shampoos and also the towels and bed sheets). The food was PERFETTO, pasta with so many different sauces, meat, fish and the desserts were just marvelous. Sending greetings to all of the staff especially to the waiters ;) We highly recommend this hotel to everyone :) . Thank you for the best holiday in our lives. Hope we’ll come again one day :) Best wishes and regards from Slovakia :) Jana and Maria

It's planned to spend holidays in the 4-star small hotel with good animation team and comfortable beach. As for the beach it's very hard to enter in the sea. There're lots of stones. Feet are fool of scratches since all these little stones are constantly moving. The water was calm only during few days. The lifeguard's behavior was very strange. It was highly entartaining for him to hide people's towel without making any warning and to enjoy people who were looking for there belongings. Some sunbeds were in a very poor state. Sometimes shuttle to the beach has few seats. It can easily happen that you'll have to go on foot. We stayed at the main building (the most expensive one), there you can find problems with water in the shower, the hairdryer isn't powerful at all, so you should be ready for late dinner (too many time it takes due to it). All equipment is VERY old. As for the shampoos, it's also of the very poor quality, for 2 people it was not enough. As for room cleaning, it was at a good level. Bedlinen was changed only 2 times during 2 weeks (instead of 4 times as it was told). As for the restaurant the breakfast is AWFUL. It's normal for them to start it much later than it should be. There's no hot food. Don't dream about eggs, bacon and toasts. Pastry is often raw or burnt. Sometimes it's difficult even to make an order for coffee. Fruits are very rare. Dinner and Lunch are tasty but they don't have a variety of dishes. On the second week we had to eat the same things. Waiters are great, it's vivid that they know well what they're doing. They know how to pass between tables which are extremely close to each other without falling down. It's quite impossible to talk to each other while you're eating on the grounds that there're lots of children who are crying and their parents don't even try to calm them down. The Animation team is amazing. One of the best I've ever seen, Very beautiful guys, great team, all games, performances are well-organised. It's hard to choose who is better! If you decide to go there, my advice is to think better!
