Really nice experience. We booked a room with a hot tub. The room and tub were both clean and the air con was very effective. The bed was king sized (plenty of space) and very comfortable. The hot tub was good quality with adjustable temperature, jets and lights - a lovely indulgence.

The site itself was clean and staff were polite. We took full board so all food was prepaid and we received a 'drinks card' to open a tab on all drinks. The on-site bar was in a great location on the beach (perfect for watching the sun set next to Stromboli volcano) and the selection of cocktails was good. Limited choice on beer but the lager they served was enjoyable.

Upon arrival we were assigned a dining table which was ours for the week. This was nice as it took away any stress of not being able to find a table. Breakfast, lunch and dinner were a buffet style served by the resort staff. Always a great selection of salad items. Regarding the hot dishes, there was always simple pasta and tomato sauce available alongside a number of more interesting dishes which changed each day. Most days, there was a vegetarian option (aside from tomato pasta) but not always.

Staff were polite but occasionally struggled to understand English. I do not speak any Italian at all.

Upon arrival, we were also assigned a lounger on the resort's section of the beach. Again, this was good as it guaranteed a space, even when busy. The beach was beautiful however do beware that the sand is quite course and painful to walk on in bare food. I resorted to wearing sandles/trainers when walking long distances down the beach for this reason. The sea was clean and highly enjoyable to swim in.

The local town was quiet. There was quite a range of restaurants available however many of these did not fill up in the evenings. There were also some general health and safety issues around town such as trip hazards on poorly maintained pavements. Of course, this is beyond the responsibility of BV Kalafiorita Resort but does contribute to the holiday experience. I also noticed the increased frequency of litter/sewerage smell in all of the towns we visited when compared with the UK.

Over all, a highly enjoyable holiday which perfectly fit the bill for a relaxing week away in the sun.

Spent a week at Kalafiorita Hotel and now hope to return some day! Beautiful location. The hotel has its own private beach leading on to clear blue waters. Antonello runs the restaurant to perfection, and the staff take such care to provide a high quality service. Amazing variety of local cuisine, with loads of seafood and fish options. I don’t eat fish, and yet there was still a wonderful choice. Washed down with local
Vino. The complex is also within easy reach on Zambrone train station and for a couple of euros you can visit stunning Tropea within 15mins, or head up the coast towards Pizzo and beyond. Recommend booking the luxury apartments, to get the use of the infinity pool.

After the good experiences of previous years, this year we returned for two weeks, between July and August. We confirm the positive aspects of previous years and provide some suggestions for improvement.

Strengths:
- the Resort, immersed in a well-kept garden, enjoys a charming natural setting. Small in size but airy, with the colors of white and blue that blend perfectly with the surrounding environment, it is designed so that everything is easily accessible: the restaurant, the pool, the bar and the beach can be reached in a few minutes. 4 stars for comfort. The rooms in the upper area, on the other hand, have the advantage of the beautiful view and the private pool, but the disadvantage of the many steps to go down each time and the distance from everything. We definitely prefer the ones below.

- the beach, of white sand mixed with pebbles, is beautiful and very wide, with only three rows of umbrellas, well spaced between them. 4 stars for the beach. To the right, there is a stretch of free beach that ends with a cliff. Among the rocks, fantastic natural pools. Here are a must 5 stars.

- the sea, blue and transparent, becomes almost immediately deep. 4 stars. Necessary shoes for the presence of pebbles on the shore and attention to when it is rough: the waves are very powerful.

- the fantastic sunsets with Stromboli in the background, a show that repeats itself every day. Is it possible to award 6 stars?

- the cleaning in general and the service, which this year we found even more attentive and friendly, especially at the restaurant, 4 stars.

- the excellent value for money.

Aspects to be improved

- the rooms, all on the ground floor and quite small in size, are furnished in an essential way and all have a small patio. The unhappy location of the air conditioner and the absence of wi-fi lower the Rating to three stars.

- wi-fi only in common areas.

- the cuisine, while improved compared to previous years, would still have to improve to achieve a four-star Rating.

The last two weeks at the resort have been wonderful. The staff was always friendly and helpful especially in the service area. The boss, Antonello, is also very nice and accommodating. The food is very tasty and really good Italian cuisine. The selection or the variance could be a little larger. The beach is very clean and close to perfect as it is practically right next to the coastal slope and therefore very quiet. In the city is unfortunately not so much going on but you can go well by cab to Tropea. The communication in English is sometimes difficult, probably due to the fact that mainly Italian guests are on site. Perhaps that is why it can be called an insider tip.

Really a wonderful holiday♥️
They welcomed us with a smile and the room was immediately available.
Nice rooms, modern furniture, very comfortable, a really big and comfortable shower especially with children. The friendly staff from reception, maintainers who take care of the rooms daily, young waiters and willing to work. The restaurant so much stuff, always varied cuisine with great dishes, my 2 year old liked everything. The beach, a stone's throw, the crystal clear sea, you have to use shoes for the stones but nothing so difficult, the beauty is absolutely worth it, the umbrellas quite spaced. The bar that serves as both a village and beach bar is very comfortable, offering tables and armchairs where you can relax and have a drink. The entertainment consists of young guys always on the move, kind and never inappropriate, in the evening offer various shows and a very positive thing is the amphitheater that is located beyond the bar and the garden, so not annoying, if you want to participate or watch the show well, otherwise it allows you to enjoy the evening doing other things. The pool a real spectacle, immense, with more heights, the evening illuminated really beautiful. We stayed the week of August in all inclusive, we really missed nothing .. the evening of the 15th a beautiful aperitif by the pool, it seemed to be invited to a wedding, the fireworks, wow. One thing makes you realize that it is the right village for a family, the fact that it is full of children of all ages. Everything at hand, close and non-dispersive. We will definitely come back next year also because we have made so many friends and surely we will all meet there, with us we will also bring grandparents, they deserve to enjoy such a holiday. The Owner always present with a smile 😁 and as a last appreciation, but not least, the sunset, is something special. See you soon Kalafiorita♥️

Room good. The path ways around the rooms were cobble style and when we were there there was a lady that fell and broke her arm.One day the toilet got blocked and sewage then bubbled up in shower and sink and bidet. Had to request twice to get it looked at. Beach you need shoes as coarse sand and rocks in sea. Sharp drop where you can’t feel the bottom. Also you are allocated a sunbed that is yours for the duration of your stay. If you would like the front row sunbed it is at a cost of 6€ per person per day.Loads of fish though which was good. The man who ran us up the hill in the mini bus was good and reliable.

Now the food/restaurant. There is a man who is head waiter who is the rudest person I have ever met in this environment. No eye contact at all and extremely rude. Although to the other guests who were predominantly German he was very polite to us (English) was very rude. Although my father In law is Italian and he was shockingly rude to him as well. Food very repetitive. Fresh fruit at breakfast would of been nice. On our first morning I had mold in the lid of my yogurt. All food is served to you so alot of queuing up . A special mention to the man who serves the pasta. Very nice smiley man. The meal times are short. Breakfast 7.30 -10 am, lunch 12.45-2pm and dinner 7.30-9pm.

There was no adult entertainment on the stage at all during the two weeks we were there. In the bar area there was silly dances and songs for the younger guest.

Lots of ants around the complex especially in the restaurant and in the rooms. Lots of mosquitoes too. Tourist tax is 3€ per night.

We returned to this resort after staying there in 2020, in the midst of the Covid period. We confirm the same positive aspects already found, with some welcome improvements.
Strengths:

- the resort, the result of a skilful renovation, enjoys an enchanting natural setting and is immersed in a well-kept green space full of flowers 🙂. Small in size but airy, with the colors of white and blue that combine perfectly with the surrounding environment, it is designed so that everything is easily accessible: the restaurant, the swimming pool, the bar and the beach can be reached in just a few minutes. minutes. 4 stars for comfort 🙂. All this applies to the rooms located in the garden area, while those located in the upper area are quite distant and therefore uncomfortable in my opinion.

- the beach, of white sand mixed with pebbles, is beautiful and very wide with only three rows of umbrellas well spaced apart. 4 stars 👍

- the sea, blue and transparent, becomes deep almost immediately. 4 stars 👍. Shoes necessary due to the presence of pebbles on the shore.

- the fantastic sunsets with Stromboli in the background. Is it possible to assign 6 stars? 😍

- cleanliness in general is the service. 4 stars 👍

- the excellent quality/price ratio.

Aspects to improve

- the rooms, rather small in size, are furnished in a modern and essential way and all have a small patio. The unfortunate position of the air conditioner and the absence of wi-fi lower the rating to 3 stars.
- wi-fi only in common areas.

Compared to the previous stay, I found a clear improvement in the cuisine: while remaining in an area of simplicity, it was always varied and pleasant, with attention to local products 😊. The always served buffet is a strong point, as is the courteous and punctual table service 👍.

The Kalafiorita of Zambrone is a village located in a definitely particular context. It is relatively small but right on the sea, in a panoramic position, between the nearby Tropea and the famous rock of Leo. At that point it exploits a beach of fine sand that, however, at the access point into the water, often has a strip with small stones that suggest the use of shoes.
There are 90 rooms, including 20 deluxe rooms located in the upper part of the village and equipped with their own swimming pool, to reach which you have to do a stretch road uphill, or a steep staircase that takes five or six minutes. But the Ace up the sleeve of the structure is certainly a futuristic Volkswagen electric shuttle, usable, at any time, through an operator always present and on simple call, for roundtrip to the beach or to the train station, which is also very close.
All the staff (except for a few lifeguards a little “edgy”), is courteous, helpful and kind, able to put every guest at ease.
At the reception the friendly Mrs. Patrizia is always ready to intervene to solve any problem with courtesy and competence. The maitre d'État, in the dining room, is a true Pro and Guides a staff of valuable collaborators who prepare and serve buffet meals and dinners worthy of consideration and appreciation. The bar is an appointment for everyone and the entertainers, coordinated by Nanni Macario (a descendant of the unforgettable comedian), are definitely engaging.
In this week of stay our group of 50 people, lived with the sea a unique experience that can only be redone on the Pacific Ocean, in California (where I live for a few months a year) or in Nazarè, Portugal, where I have been several times.
Everything perfect then? Not really, because an objective problem are the spaces to share in case of bad weather, which are just missing.
If it rains or winds, it will be difficult to park at the edge of the fantastic pool or in the area in front of the bar, partially protected in one part but annoyingly dripping in the other.
Pietro Falcone, young and prepared scion of the Management Owner, constantly present and active among all staff, hopes that it will be possible to find a suitable solution in the near future. Unfortunately, this village gem was designed in the past by architects who had not carefully considered the possibility of climate change!
In conclusion, it is a village that I would recommend to everyone and I only put 4 stars because of the common areas not available in case of rain.
Remedy? Go only when the sun is out, which is not uncommon and you will not regret it!
Our group, despite the unhappy weather week, came home very happy.

The structure is located in a beautiful position, practically on the sea, it has a private beach equipped with umbrellas and sunbeds. The resort is very large, with lots of greenery, a huge swimming pool (which I honestly find useless given the wonderful sea that is 30 meters away), friendly and non-intrusive entertainment.
The staff is very helpful and friendly (great Iacopo from the restaurant!)
I gave "only" 3 out of 5 because in my opinion a 4-star structure should take much better care of the comforts aimed at customers, especially the room.
The mattress is too uncomfortable (there were 6 adults and everyone was given the same version) and the air conditioning (which in our room was managed by an old and noisy system) was installed above the beds; it's the first thing not to do!!
Other details that certainly need improvement are:
-the umbrellas on the beach which have been installed on the sloping part of the beach and which are therefore all not level making it difficult to put even just a bottle on them.
-there is a big ant problem
-the pool shower leaks from everywhere and it is impossible to wash.
Finally, the food that often (unfortunately not always and I imagine that the cause is to be attributed to the quantity to be prepared which often leads to mistakes that make the dish appear inedible, an example? Spaghetti with clams: I saw the person in charge of the pasta continue to prepare the dish by adding pasta, cooking water and oil.. mine was really disgusting then oh the Germans will like it too) it turned out to be of good quality and tasty. The fruit assortment needs to be improved.
For children under 3 years old there is very little

The location is excellent - right on the beach and not far from the train station. The food was delicious and plentiful, the rooms and grounds were clean and well-maintained. The kitchen and cleaning staff were extremely friendly and accommodating. We even got on very well with the chef. However, Covid restrictions still apply in the dining room. There are plexiglass walls with hatches everywhere, and the food you want is then served on a plate. You weren't even allowed to press the button on the drinks machine yourself. Another problem: the animation team and the lifeguards. They meet in the pool bar and talk at a deafening volume, with no consideration for guests. If anyone dares to put a stop to the noise, they are immediately confronted by one of the lifeguards, who finds this absolutely normal in an aggressive tone. Complaining to the receptionist is pointless, she is not the boss, and besides, that is just his character. No thanks.
