We stayed in this lovely hotel one night in april and cannot wait to return for a longer time. Everything was just perfect: the room was big and clean with an amazing view of the mountains. The bathroom was spotless and the towels very soft. We had dinner at the restaurant and it was simply delicious as it was breakfast... More

I spent two nights in this hotel with my girlfriend. I bought a package including a romantic dinner (5 dishes) and two vital-breakfast. The atmosphere was really perfect, the use of the SPA is free. The hotel is very close to a small sky-lift and a few minutes of car from Todtnauberg. Internet was available and also a limited number... More

We stayed here one night, during a hiking by the Westweg. It was certainly very relaxing, after a long journey. We dined at the terrace: very good meal in a very enjoyable place. Staff was very professional and advise us how to take a bus in order to reach the Westweg at Notschrei Pass.

A beautiful hotel, very good service, the area is just as it looks in the pictures, good breakfast, a supermarket very close to the hotel. No cattle in the room. We were a couple with 3 children, ages 16, 14 and 9 and we had a great time there. We stayed there for 8 nights.

A mix-up in bookings left us scrambling for a hotel "near Freiburg" while visiting Christmas markets with friends from the US - the Gruener Baum was the only result received and after driving up to 1200m in freezing fog, was a fantastic surprise. We checked in at the Notschreipass Hotel as the reception at Gruener Baum was unmanned on Saturday... More

We booked three nights half board as the final stage of a month of traveling round Europe. The area is breathtaking and the hotel is in a very picturesque location with a sister hotel just up the road which you can also visit for the pool and spa. The welcome was so warm and informative, we were desperate for a... More

I stayed a week here. I came to actually hiking in the mountains of the beautiful Black Forest. But the hotel Gruener Baum also has a small fitness room, a therm lounge where you can relax after three different types of sauna. The room was nicely cleaned up every day. What I also liked was the four-course menu where the... More

We went on a Monday evening and it was half full. Plenty of parking outside. The menu is quite varied with lots of typical German specialities. I had veal in a kirsch sauce with home made noodles and my husband had a cold meat platter which included about 15 different meats and sausages. I would highly recommend.

The rooms are clean and big enough. Also the bathroom is spacious. There is no elevator, so don't make your bags too heavy ;) The staff is friendly, helpful and can speak English. Breakfast is good (fresh and with plenty of choice). We also enjoyed dinner. The menu has both local and European dishes. Wifi wasn't free (2 euro/day), but... More
