This is a very local hotel that caters to beach holidays and the occasional archeology buffs (like us) looking to see the possible final resting place of Pythagoras. The beach is lovely for a walk, the ruins are interesting, the town does not have anything else to offer tourists, but the hotel is fine for a night or two. Though...

We stayed for only one night, right at the end of last summer. Lido Metaponto was closing down with few establishments still open. Our room was adequate but showed signs of wear : scratched paintwork, a loose door lock, broken electrical switch and tired furniture. There was a pleasant view from a small balcony. Breakfast was acceptable with self-serve cereals,...

Hotel Turismo is a gem in a small beach town of lovely helpful people. Late one night we found ourselves stranded at the Metaponto train station and with the help of some broken Italian and some incredibly kind locals we were connected with the Hotel Turismo. They promptly sent an employee to pick us up across town in the middle...

We enjoyed our stay. The further south you go in Italy the less tourists you encounter. We loved our time at Hotel Turismo. There is a beach right outside the hotel. Breakfast was great and the staff was very friendly and helpful considering we didn't speak Italian.

This was the second time we visited this hotel. We love this little old hotel. It's comfortable enough to stay for a holiday . The beach is very close and the staff is very very nice. I loved Giuseppe and the nice and gently waitress from the hotel. The town is little and there isn't shops etc. If you love...

I have spent many very happy holidays in Metaponto and have stayed in this hotel every year for the last 15 years. The staff I also met years ago, Giuseppe the director, Mimmo the chef, Antonio the waiter and Angela and Mimma the household staff. All of them are excellent at their jobs and extremely friendly and kind with an...

Our stay in Hotel Turismo was most memorable for favors received from Guiseppe and his staff, above and beyond the call of duty! Trying to get to Taranto and avoid biking on the Autostrada, Guiseppe and team personally accompanied us to the bus station. After a wild whirlwind of conversation, we were told to get the bikes under the bus...

The room was very nice and the location great. What really distinguished the visit was the excellent service! The staff was friendly, attentive, went on the internet to help us with bus and train schedules. How often do you have your picture taken with the hotel staff so you can remember them? A great experience after a tough day of...

Beware! Lido Metaponto is closed from the end of September to the beginning of May. And I mean everything is closed. We stayed here so that we could get some beach time and see the museum and ruins in metaponto. This place looks like its peak was in the 80s and they ran out of money at %70 completion. Tr...

Fantastic hotel! Metaponto Lido is an extremely pleasant part of South Italy. As the website suggests, the hotel is literally 3 minutes away from a very clean beach. For young children this is heaven on earth. We were grateful for the hotel reserving deckchairs for us for the week, this prevented the early morning get up to save a deckchair...
