Avoid. Booked this Hotel for ten nights but only stayed 3. There is nothing to do or see around this hotel which is on the railway line. There are 3 places to eat and no one around. It's like a ghost town. We booked the hotel as we wanted to be near Taormina but it was a mistake. Our room was so small with no view other than the block opposite. The shower cubical was so small I had to wedge myself in side ways. You do not have room to bend down to pick up the soap! It was more like a hostel than a hotel. It's cheap but there is a good reason for that. Don't make the same mistake we did .

The Owner of Hotel is very friendly and helpful. The spirit in the Hotel is like in a family. The breakfast are very good, the rooms are maybe a little bit too small but very cosy. Hope to see you again :) Thank you.

Review collected in partnership with Wizz Tours
Fairly economical, extremely close to the beach, and very friendly owners. If you are looking for a place to sleep close to taormina, this is it. There is a train station nearby, a bus that goes straight to taormina, and if you shop around you can find an etna tour that comes pick you up.

This delightful small hotel is very well run and I enjoyed my weeks stay very much. The owners could not have been more friendly or kind. My room was perfect and was cleaned every day. Even small gifts were made to me of cherries and water, I felt very much at home. If you want to escape tourism and crowds this is ideal. The beach is a two minute walk away and the people of Sant Alessio are very welcoming and helpful. I would definitely return.

My partner and I arrived on the 7th May 2014 and were delighted to be welcomed by an Italian Man who, even though did not speak any English, knew my name. He showed us to our room which was room 101, on the ground floor. He explained the set out of the room, but we did not understand due to the language barrier. We got by by using actions which made our holiday that bit more exciting. He showed us the shutters on the doors which took us out to our garden area. We had air conditioning in the room and a fridge. The room was very clean and we had soap/shampoo/shower gel etc in the bathroom. After our flight and the shock of the heat from the UK, we wanted a shower to freshen up. Unfortunately, when my partner went for a shower it had to be a quick one due to the shower being blocked and flooding the bathroom. We brought this to the owners attention who gladly fixed this problem. We had a fantastic time in Sicily, although on our last day we just wanted to relax in our room/garden; but unfortunately at 10am, the cleaner banged on our door and told us we had to leave because she needed to clean our room. We did not appreciate this at all. The room was always cleaned to our expectations every morning, but I did not appreciate my clothing being moved, including my underwear which I left on a chair. Our room always ended up being covered in little stones, due to the stoney beach just down the road. This was always cleaned up every morning for us. The second day of our holiday, I was so hungry and was in need of breakfast. I tried to translate a letter to the owner asking where I could get some breakfast. He directed me to the end of the street. I went for a walk but did not find anything. A couple of days later, some other guests arrived who spoke Italian. That morning they received breakfast and coffee, which I was hoping for. There was no way of me to ask the owner about this service that he would understand. Our survival method of being in Sicily was the nearest DE-SPAR where we bought bread and spreads etc for lunches. This would have been the perfect stay if we spoke more Italian. We missed out on the main amenities due to the language barrier. We had WIFI connection, but this only worked when the owner had the desk computer on... which wasn't very often. Overall, a good stay!
