Where do I begin? The property is truly a gem in the jungle. The beauty of the jungle and property is beyond compare. I stayed here with my husband and two boys (8 and 12). We stayed in one of the the treehouses (Iguana) and it was perfect for us - spacious, clean, nicely decorated, and the beds were so comfortable. The AC was powerful and reliable! The boys absolutely loved the grounds - from the bird tower, pool, and the trails. They only wished the basketball hoop was up in the trampoline. The best part of our stay was the personalized attention. From the complimentary drink upon arrival all the way to the details - such as the way Chef Norma prepared extra watermelon slices for my youngest, to the personalized menus each night. The food was delicious. It was my husband's 40th birthday and Chef Norma and Robelvi created an unforgettable night for us. Robelvi was attentive and kind and made the best margaritas! Mariposa also took care of coordinating our excursions and rides from the airport. Definitely request Damian as your guide - he is the best! My kids still talk about Mariposa, and we definitely will be returning. The staff - Norma, Robelvi, Rosa were so attentive and wonderful. If I could give more than 5 stars I would! Best place by far that I've stayed - seriously, you will not regret Mariposa!

We stayed at Mariposa for two nights, and the cottage was amazing, we absolutely loved it. The grounds are neat and very clean, and the view from our balcony was to die for. We ate breakfast only and it was a bit pricey, but hey, Covid has made everything in Belize a bit expensive. Chef Norma was absolutely amazing, very talented and the food was so good. One caveat: We called ahead and were told one price for the cabin, When we checked in I looked up the same cabin on their website and it was quoted as cheaper than what we were paying, so I called right away and they fixed it. Had I not checked, I would've paid more than quoted. Other than that, the stay was amazing, laid back, and very restful. Will definitely come again.

Wow! We'd had friends stay at the Mariposa Jungle Lodge a few years ago, but we truly didn't know how amazing it was going to be! To start, upon landing and clearing customs, Damien, our driver, found us right away and loaded us in for our 2 hour drive. Roads along the way are in all different states, and when we arrived, they were finalizing some construction immediately outside the lodge. The trip for those of you in the future months will be fantastic! Our family of 4 (mom, dad, two teenaged sons) arrived at the lodge not really knowing what to expect, but we were immediately greeted by Gladmir and Robby who offered us our welcome drink. It was a well deserved Bellikin that we enjoyed while chit chatting. We were shown to our cabana (the Iguana cabana - aka the Family Treehouse Suite) and I cannot explain how excited everyone was with the size of the suite (4 beds including a King!) and the quality of the AC (we are Texans, we are professionals at reviewing AC.) Each night we showed up for dinner and were blown away by the delicious food Chef Norma served us (Roast Chicken, Shrimp Curry, Braised Fish, and BBQ Chicken were our dinners.) I was admittedly concerned about the possibility of no protein, but DO NOT FEAR THIS...protein was available and plentiful! Breakfasts were equally filling a delicious and fueled us for each day's adventures. We let Mariposa Jungle Lodge book all of our tours for us - Caracol, ATM Cave, and Cave Tubing/Zip Lining. I could not be more pleased with how well that worked out. In fact, other families who stayed at the Lodge and booked their own tours had admittedly less desirable outcomes with late arriving drivers and guides. Our tours were PERFECTLY coordinated. The owner, Aline, was friendly and kind and we were able to meet her daughter and brand new husky puppy also. We had the BEST TIME...what an adventurous and memorable vacation! We will recommend MPL to others!!

The location is fairly secluded, so it takes a while to get there on the dirt roads. They were doing road construction to pave the roads, but I wouldn't currently attempt to make the journey during the rainy season without a 4 wheel drive. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. Each cabin stands alone and is surrounded by lush, beautiful greenery. The cabins are air conditioned and well built. There is a nice screened in porch attached with a hammock. There is a large water jug filled with fresh water. The only downside was a few ants made it inside the room. Once we discovered it, a towel at the base of the door prevented any further ant invasion. The restaurant served delicious food onsite, but it was a tad pricey. There is a nice walking trail that goes around the property and to a bird viewing tower. Overall, I would stay there again and recommend this jungle lodge.

If you’re traveling with kids and want a safe and exciting Belize adventure Mariposa is a must. They took care of everything for us so we could relax and experience the sights and culture. Thank you Mariposa! I’m not one to usually review though I rely heavily on them when I research. This was our first big trip post Covid and our first time traveling internationally with our two young kids aged 11 and 9. The jungle was our first stop in our Belizean adventure. Our cabana was clean and tucked away on the property and there was even a pool for the kids to relax in during down time. Glad, the manager, arranged several outings for us so we could enjoy our time stress-free. Norma the chef cooked three-course meals for us again removing any stress from our trip. Highly recommend the meal plan if you’re looking to relax and enjoy authentic Belizean food. Our guides were amazing. Don’t be afraid to explore the ATM cave even with kids. We did it as a family with our amazing guide and still can’t stop talking about it. We visited the food market in San Ignacio and also some Mayan ruins in the area. Our guide Damian was fantastic and extremely knowledgeable about the area and answered all our kiddos questions 😜. During our stay the owners Paul and Aline made us feel like family. The entire staff at Mariposa was attentive and helpful. Our major take away from Belize and this jungle resort is how friendly everybody is. We stayed for four nights but really could’ve stayed a couple more as there were a few adventures on our to do list that did not get done. Definitely recommend asking for airport transport as it just makes everything so much easier when you get off the plane. We will definitely try to come back. Thanks again to everyone! 😁
