I went with family and friends, including 2 x 4 year olds and a 2 year old. The cabins were large and clean. The food was amazing! They were very accommodating with different food preferences. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, and at the same time didn't intrude. The facilities - pool and games area, were enjoyed. It is a bit of a drive into town, but we only had to go in once as the lodge had everything we needed. They were very helpful advising on things to do and see in the area. It was a wonderful week. I highly recommend Mariposa Jungle Lodge to anyone wanting to see the mountainous region of Belize.

We had the most wonderful time here! We came with 2 other couples and felt like we were at home as soon as we got there. Right from the welcome drinks from our wonderful bartender. Everyone was so accommodating for all the excursions that we took to any little thing we needed. The food was amazing! We even got to meet the owners the last night we were there. The whole staff made us feel like we were part of a big family, including our excursion guides.

I spent three wonderfully nights at Mariposa Jungle Lodge, a quiet not too far from San Ignacio, en route to Caracol. The staff was amazing and the food exquisite. I ordered a packed lunch for my drive to Caracol and expected a sandwich and a water bottle was pleasantly surprised to be given two coolers with water, coke, a snack, salad, chicken and veggies and fajitas, silverware and even a table cloth. Highly recommended.

Mariposa was a favorite of all the places we stayed on our trip to Belize. We were greeted with a delicious rum punch. Very comfortable, clean, and spacious rooms. The grounds are beautiful, landscaping rich with amazing plants and flowers. Many species of birds were seen, trogons, toucans, parrots, etc. A birding tower on site. Food was great. The staff accommodated in so many ways, they were incredible. The dinners and breakfast, although not cheep were well worth it.

Wow, what an amazing discovery. An absolute amazing time was had here with the Mariposa, from the very first interaction re booking (combined with Xanadu and San Pedro) to our departure, faultless, consistent and nothing was too much trouble. When researching where to go and where to stay (for us) is part of the vacation experience and you hope that the pros and cons balance out to be a fair judgement on what is finally presented. The team at Mariposa have this down to a tee without any effort, when a team gels the rest just naturally follows. As described, from the initial communication to the actual logistics, drivers waiting, tours carefully choreographed and you felt that those “worries” (not that we have any per se) can sit in the back of your mind so you can concentrate on the why you are visiting here in the first place. The lodge, stunning piece of jungle escapade, with toucans and hummingbirds buzzing around, lovely and often challenging (heat and the Mayan terracing) trail - trails, we did both the outer and inner loops (takes about an hour or two) but was great to see the various trees (thank you for the signs) and Mayan mound. The pool was a welcoming retreat, even just for the dusk watching of the bats and birds roosting. Ok, so the nitty gritty - food, amazing, thoughtfully and tastefully prepared, loved the individualisation each night (I will leave that for the next visitor) and was so damn tasty, beautifully presented and dipping your toes into Mayan cuisine was a perfect balance. Our room (Orchid) was a delight, spotlessly clean, cool as a cucumber if needed and with the additional screened porch and hammock made for a wonderful evening. Turning all the lights off and just sitting in the porch you see and really hear your fellow guests - not in that way lol, a family of Howler Monkeys were clearly having a family dispute one evening that reverberated around the resort and valleys. We undertook trips to Tikal, ATM and horseback riding - expertly curated by the team. In particular I must mention the horse riding that was very lock - one of the best trail rides we have been on, the father and son who took us were wonderful and numerous individuals, and the surprise cave visit was just mad!!! Let your imagination run with that - worth a ride, stunning views. All the team at the Mariposa were wonderful, as were those who interacted with us, be it the drivers (huge shout to Wilton and Vincent on our passport fiasco lol) and their patience. Just a wonderful memory has been made. Thank you to every individual who had a part in our Belize (part one) adventure.

Our five night stay in early February 2023 at the Mariposa Jungle Lodge was great. This is a beautiful lodge, with very attractive and comfortable Cabanas. The site manager (Gladimir) and kitchen staff (Norma, Sevilla and Robbie) were very nice, helpful and accommodating. The food was amazing and prepared to our liking. This was our first trip to Belize, and we found this lodge to be a great location for touring the Cayo area of Belize. The lodge and surrounding area had exceptional birding and wildlife viewing. I would highly recommend this lodge for anyone traveling to Cayo District of Belize.

We spent a magical few days at Mariposa Jungle Lodge. The resort is immaculate, the rooms comfortable, the food by Chef Norma was incredible. We we were treated like family by everyone. The tours were fun and instructive. We learned so much about the history and culture of Belize, not to mention it’s natural beauty. If you plan to visit Belize, you must spend a few days at Mariposa Jungle Lodge. You’ll be treated like royalty. We visited Placencia, San Pedro and Caye Caulker. Mariposa Jungle Lodge was by far our favorite spot: our bartender Robi took care of our drinks at the pool and the restaurant bar, Sevilla served us like a pro and was so knowledgeable. The Manager, Glad was always making sure all our needs were taken care. Rosa kept our cabana clean. Our tour guides were professional, courteous and very knowledgeable. We’ll definitely stay longer on our next visit.

Wonderful visit. The staff were amazing and attentive with many personal touches throughout our stay. The rooms were clean, private and very serene setting. I would recommend the food-especially the lunches “to go”. Not only were they great, they gave us the freedom to explore the ruins without having to worry about hungry children on long days.

From start to finish, our time at Mariposa was beyond all expectations. Even before we set foot on the property, we knew we were in good hands. The email communications (I booked directly through the lodge) were excellent. They sent a food preference form prior to arrival, but even more amazing, when our inbound flight was cancelled and we had to arrive a day late, they were able to modify our reservation and allow us to stay an extra day so we didn't miss our excursions. Our drivers and guides were all exceptional!! Chef Norma prepared the most delicious meals each morning and evening, and her packed lunch of chicken burritos for our excursion to Caracol was quite possibly one of the best packed meals of our lives. The rest of the staff was wonderful as well and we were lucky enough to meet the lodge owners who were delightful! We stayed at the Iguana which was perfect for our family of 6. Beautiful and spotless, photos don't do this place justice. The pool and the grounds are pristine. It is fairly isolated but this was exactly what we were looking for! They will arrange everything you need from airport transfers to excursions. If you are looking for "adventure by day and comfort by night" this is it!
