I recently took a trip to Belize and could not figure out where to stay in the San Ignacio area. San Ignacio is a city in the Cayo District of Belize where you can plan many excursions and adventures with the multiple tour companies there. After much deliberation, I chose Moonracer farm which is in a beautiful jungle setting near... More

I found this place on TripAdvisor when looking for some lodges that were remote and more off the beaten path. Communication and arrangement were easy to made and we felt welcome from the first moment we contacted them. A car is needed to get there as it is around 30-40 minutes from San Ignacio and pretty much "deep in the... More

After reading all the striking reviews, what else could I say but YES to it all. Somehow I missed the part about no electricity or much light at night. It's dark at night...CAVE DARK! How wonderful to lie in bed and listen to the monkeys, wait for the toucan call, and hear my morning coffee brewing as Janeth gets up... More

So glad I picked this place to stay, after checking out several other lodges online and reading TA reviews. I like that this is a small lodge, only allowing for 1-2 parties. This allowed for great interaction with the local Belizean managers, Julio & Janeth and their family. The US expat owners, Marge & Tom, were also very helpful with... More

Great hospitality, great food, great setting. Rooms are comfortable and clean. A great jumping off point for many adventures in the area. Julio and Janeth were very helpful and friendly. Tom and Marge gave us some very helpful advice about living in Belize. Highly recommended.

My wife and I stayed at Moonracer farm in January, 2015 for the first part of our trip to Belize. Tom and Marge (the owners) are Americans from upstate NY who moved to Belize several years ago. They helped us coordinate the stay ahead of time and provided good insight into some of the tours we were planning to take.... More

This was the highlight of our summer trip to Belize. The setting is beautiful in the middle of forest and the accommodation is cosy and spotlessly clean. The family made us very welcome and we enjoyed walks with them and exploring the area round the farm. The food is all home cooked and plentiful. A must for any visitor to... More

Enjoyed our stay at Moon racer. Hosts Julio and Janeth were wonderful, friendly and helpful! Janeth's cooking was amazing - we had 3 meals with them! They were even able to accommodate us as vegans and kept the menu fresh and delicious....I confess, although tasty - we were getting a bit tired of rice and beans as our only option... More

We chose Moonracer because it was on the way to the Caracol ruins, was less expensive than many other lodges in the area and had positive reviews on Trip Advisor. Very glad we did. The lack of electricity added to the charm of the place. Being able to sleep without any outdoor lights and waking up with the natural day... More

Our four night stay while in the Cayo District was amazing as we were surrounded by the Belizean jungle in one of the two cabins at Moonracer. It is several miles off the main highway on an uneven dirt road so our 4-wheel drive we rented was put to very good use. We arrived later than scheduled in the night... More
