We stayed one night to break the journey between Tunis and Kariouan. This is a family run establishment, and we were made to feel very welcome. We were served a magnificent feast for dinner, including an El-Kef special variant of couscous. An excellent breakfast followed the next morning. We stayed in an apartment area that was slightly separated from the rest of the house, which was comfortable.

Excellent welcome, warm atmosphere and friendly hosts who opened their home to us with great kindness.
The setting is ideal after a cold and winter day. It feels like home around the fireplace sipping a good herbal tea!
The rooms are clean and functional. The meals are very good, served generously and live up to our expectations. Special mention to soup, Fatma fingers and tender and well spicy tellment meat!Everything is very fresh and well presented. Breakfast is hearty served with hot mlawi, fresh juice, eggs, bsisa and jam.
The location is ideal in the city center.
Nothing to say! Dar Alyssa is the ideal place for a getaway to the Kef and its surroundings.

Only stayed one night, but thoroughly enjoyed the stay. Contacted the guesthouse via email, and Leila was very prompt to respond and she reserved the rooms for us. Great selection of en-suite rooms with multiple numbers of beds to accommodate families of all sizes. Street parking in front of the house is convenient and safe.
The house is beautiful and the rooms are furnished as such. The guestrooms are separate from the main house where brekkie is served. The breakfast room is beautiful and Leila and her team served a wonderful breakfast with so many options. Leila is a wonderful hostess and we certainly appreciate her hospitality.

This B&B is quite confortable, if you don't care carrying your luggage stairs up. Room is nice, toilet a little bit short. No shower gel but hands soap. Ugly zone with no views, as a matter of fact the whole village El Kef doesn't worth it, but maybe a visit to the castle ( Kashba ). The problem is Mrs. Layla bills. Room with breakfast is double price than in an equivalent or better hotel. 150 dinar. But the dinner based in Brik and Couscous was 75 dinar, the price of a dinner in an expensive restaurant with Red wine and water. Here of course not wine, but even water was charged appart. You better stay in a hotel 3 or 4 stars half price. In the near Sbila there are beautiful hotels much better rooms half board for 155 dinar. That's the correct price.

We visited the guesthouse for a family dinner. The welcome and service were very good. We were welcomed by the chef, the manager and her mother who prepared us an excellent local couscous with borzgane! We highly recommend this table d’hôte!

We landed here - on short notice ( a phone call about an hour before we would arrive) - for one night during our driving trip around Tunisia this December. The owner/ hosts, Habib and Leila - were delightful. The house is character-filled and very comfortable. Our top floor room was spacious with a canopied bed and also contained a small bed/couch living room area. We could park our car on the quiet street in front of the house. It was a little tricky to find Dar Alyssa using the Google maps, but ask around and you will be directed to it by anyone walking along the street. Habib cooked us a delicious multi-course meal - for an additional fee - for our evening meal. Habib speaks excellent English - he is a retired English teacher; his wife speaks limited English but is adept in French. The Dar is within a 10-minute walk to a well-stocked grocery store along the Main Street of the town. Very handy to stock up on any of our needs. Just remember that only cash is accepted at this small hotel, but there are ATMs nearby if you need them.

My colleague and I, visit El Kef for a project. He told me that we will stay somewhere "special". I didn't believe him until we arrived. An exquisite house with incredible design, full of souvenirs from all over the world. Mr. Habib and his Family are warm people and made our accommodation pleasant. Domino(the dog) is also lovely!!! Hope to see you again soon!
