Lynn and Maureen are the perfect hosts: warm and welcoming without being intrusive. The rooms are impeccably clean with everything you could possibly need and a greater selection of teas than I have at home. Full English breakfast was delicious and filling. The location opposite the Captain Cook Museum is ideal for exploring Great Ayton. No wonder people return again...

Maureen and Lynn have it just right. Everything is comfortable but not fussy here. Great breakfasts. Our 2 walking men were defeated by the size of the kedgeree portion. This is exceptionally good value. It is well positioned and parking was no problem.

Staying at this B&B was like stepping back in time, without compromising on comfort or service. Staying with Maureen and Lyn was like staying with family without the tensions, squabbles and expectations that family visits often engender. The standard of everything (food, cleanliness, welcome, etc) was faultless. We have not enjoyed a B&B this much in years. Don't expect to be...

We just returned from a long weekend break in Great Ayton staying in The Travellers Rest and can not recommend this place highly enough. Lyn & Maureen were fantastic hosts with a friendly, down to earth, no nonsense approach that added an authenticity and homeliness to the stay which could never be matched in a run of the mill boutique...

This was my first stay at this beautiful and well maintained B&B. We were on a sponsored cycle ride "coast to coast". They were eight in our party so we could not all stay in the same B&B, but how lucky three of us were to land at this little gem of a B&B! It was a peaceful and a...

I have stayed here several times and the welcome is always warm and friendly. For stress free, peaceful, safe and comfortable accommodation the Travellers Rest cannot be bettered. Lyn and Maureen keep the cleanest B&B you will encounter and provide the widest choice of breakfast fare I have seen, outside a large hotel. Book early to avoid disappointment!

What a super place to stay if you're passing by on the C2C, Cleveland Way or simply wanting a stay in a lovely village. Lynn and Maureen were wonderful hosts, picked us up from an agreed spot along our walk on the Cleveland Way and returned us the following morning, made us most welcome into their spotless and comfortable accommodation...

How lucky we were to find this gem of a B&B! It is a peaceful and gentle retreat from the madding crowd. The whole ambience is one of homeliness and caring. How one enjoys the cleanliness of it all with comfy beds, very nice breakfasts with delicious toasted bread. Maureen & Lynn will make you feel so comfortable with a...
