I stayed at the hotel with a group of cyclists to ride the cobbled sections of the famous Flanders routes. The hotel has a secure underground bike storage room with racking so you can lock your bike and rest at ease. The food is good and there is a well stocked bar.
I used Google maps to find this hotel and what a great find it was. I had tried to get closer to Calais but made the mistake of calling the Berg' Hotel - 2 B route de Crochte, 59380 Socx France and had the worst experience of trying to book a room in my whole 50yrs of travelling. (See my TA review). The Leopold Hotel was easy to find, incredibly helpful at reception and set in a wonderful small city about two hours from Calais - where customer service and great attitude are easily found. The staff were polite, helpful and the bedroom was just what I needed after a very long journey. Bar staff were great making recommendations about local bees and food. There are plenty of great places to eat within a short walk. A great find. Thank You (Sandra)
We stayed 10-11 April 2021 with 2 adults and a one year old. Fast check-in and even received free upgrade for our room. Bed for one-year old was ready didn't have to drag along our own. We arrived late and starving. Room service was very fast (via whatsapp) and food was deliciously home-made. Staff is very friendly and very responsive in handling orders. Rooms are spotless and quiet. Hotel is easy to reach by car. A lot of parking in front of the door. Ideal for staying when visiting west- and/or east-flanders. Good when combining with Kluisberg, Koppenberg in an area which is, unjustitifiedly easily overlooked. We Will return here.
Ok, this is a decent hotel for the area for a few reasons: 1. Rates are reasonable and it includes breakfast 2. Breakfast is decent 3. Location! It is walking distance to the town square that is surrounded with restaurants and a beautiful clock tower and cathedral. Cons: 1. No AC in Oct!!! They shut off the AC if you happen to have the standard room located in the main building. You have to get the executive room in order for you to get a studio that has AC!!! 2. No iron & iron board 3. My colleague’s room didn’t have a phone!
Good choice for recharging energies, really clean and tidy hotel, rooms spacious, great pillows, with some nice amenities. Great location close to main highway accessible from bigger cities. Front desk personnel was friendly. Free parking in front of the hotel but you can pay extra to have private parking for a few euros. Fully recommended.
This is a modern stylish hotel within walking distance of Oudenaarde town centre. My initial impressions were good with a car park located immediately in front of the premises. It quickly becomes clear that the hotel embraces the cycling heritage of the town with full wall cycling murals adorning wall spaces in the entire premises. There is even a full hotel cycling kit to purchase. There is a secure bike store in the basement equipped with a track pump and cleaning equipment. The staff were very friendly with good English spoken. Our room was modern and stylish, it was well maintained and kept clean. You can elect to miss the daily room tidy and instead take a 5 euro voucher that is redeemable in the bar. There is a good selection of local beers and the food served was good value and well prepared. This is an ideal base if you wish to ride the cobbled climbs that are used in the Tour of Flanders. Definitely a place that I would stay in again.…
Didn't know the place before and it seems we are landing in the middle of nowhere but the hotel is charming and pleasant. Had sympathetic staff and nice breakfast. The room was large enough with silent AC which is always appreciated. Would could back in case I have to visit again the region.
Spent 3 nights here with four friends on a cycling break. The hotel was clean, the staff friendly and there was everything in the rooms we needed. Breakfast was great, as was its position in the town and the beer magnificent!
Night staff overworked, unfriendly, grumpy. UK management contacted, but refused to address issues or even apologize for poor service. Shame, as otherwise could be a nice hotel. We visit often, will stay elsewhere in future.
Great hotel with a warm welcome from Gary F&B manager on front desk. Went out of his way to help with our room and dinner. He is an asset to the hotel. Chef made a delicious steak. Will come back again!
