Had a great time with me and my friends there. Would absolutely recommend it if you get a chance. The tents are AC’ed and there’s a swimming pool. The camel rides and sand boarding were highlights too!
We had the most amazing stay at the desert luxury camp. It was definitely our favourite part of the trip. Mubarack is incredible, he was so welcoming, accommodating and prepared a surprise dinner with us with candles around the table on the sand dunes. It was all so beautiful. He also made us try sand boarding which was so fun. The camp was beautiful, had AC, and a shower. At night, the staff sang and danced with us and played musical instruments (they even made us try them!). It was truly an unforgettable and once in a lifetime experience and I would recommend this place to anyone!!
This is one of the single best tours my partner and I have ever experienced! From the moment we arrived, we were warmly greeted and treated beyond wonderfully. We began our experience driving from Marrakech through the Atlas mountains, where our driver/guide, Mickey, stopped at some of the most beautiful panoramic sites we have ever seen. Along the journey, Mickey took us to many local stops that we would have never experienced on our own. Mickey truly took our trip to another level. It seemed as though he knew all of Morocco, constantly smiling and waving at friends along our entire 6 hour drive. He was beyond friendly, knowledgeable, and accommodating. When we arrived, we were graciously greeted by Mubarak, who also equally made our trip the best we could have asked for. We stayed in the dome tent, which allowed us to have some of the most scenic and beautiful views of the desert. During our stay, we were given unmatched care. Both Mubarak and Mickey gave us once-in-a-lifetime levels of hospitality. We enjoyed many activities, from desert ATVing, to camel rides, star-gazing, live music, to even a freaking swimming pool in the middle of the Saharan desert!!! And the food.... we'll be day-dreaming about our meals for years... TRULY. Everything was fresh, local, and beyond delicious. If it seems as though there's no way this place was THAT good, let me tell you, it most definitely was. If this tour seems expensive, keep in mind that it includes: 6-8 hour travel to the camp and back to your homebase, the room itself, activities, divine meals, and unbeatable kindness and care. We would travel all the way back to Morocco again just to experience this stay again. It was a once-in-a-lifetime experience that was like nothing we have ever experienced before and hope that we get to visit again in the future. Thank you desert luxury camp for everything!…
Since our time in Morocco was limited, we chose to fly into Errachidia, the closest major airport to the Camp. The Camp arranged for our driver, Sa'id, to fetch us from a local hotel. He first stopped so we could purchase some wine and beer since the Camp is dry in more ways than one. He had a cooler in the car with water bottles on ice, so we had a perfect place to keep the beer cold. We made several stops along the way to the Camp. We are from the US, so we were immediately suspicious that he had ulterior motives for taking a circuitous route. We ultimately realized that he was trying to keep us entertained and delay our arrival until after 5:00pm - for our comfort. We visited midsummer, so the days are blazing hot. Upon arrival, we were greeted with refreshments and the opportunity to enjoy all of the views and activities. We stayed two nights. We drove four wheelers, took a camel ride and swam in the refreshing pool. The meals were all delicious. The sunrise was unreal, stargazing beyond compare and the service was top notch. I even accidentally left my glasses on our bedside table and Jana kindly mailed them back - over and beyond!…
Highly, highly recommend. Everything from organising and paying for our package with Jana, to the personal touches and accommodation provided, it was just perfect. Our hotels were top rated and perfect, as were the staff who all went out of the way. Hassan our driver was lovely and so accommodating - also a very safe driver (strange in Morocco!). The desert came is just fantastic, a glamping tent in the middle of the dunes with a swimming pool, amazing food, perfect staff and entertainment and camel rides all thrown in. Well worth the money to do it right and enjoy it at the same time. We had freedom to do what we wanted and when we wanted, no worries about buses or taxies, working our where to go or even haggling with locals - it was all done for us and also lots of air-con…a must on these trips and they made sure it was always working for us. Amazing trip thank you so much…
For the second time in as many years (due to cancelled flights and the pandemic) we have had to cancel our long anticipated trip to Desert Luxury Camp in Morocco. The purpose of this review is to highlight the exemplary service we have received over several years from this company, Jana, in particular. Not only has she been quick to respond to any and all messages all this time, but TWICE now, she has provided us with a refund when we needed to request it, without hesitation. We are hoping that in the future, the 3rd time will be the charm and we will actually make it to Morocco, but with the experiences I have had with Jana, NO DOUBT we will make Desert Luxury camp our #1 priority in Morocco. THANK YOU, Jana, for making us feel so cared for!!!
This was my second time staying and traveling with Desert Luxury Camp. First time it was with my partner and this time we took the entire family. Jana helped us to create an itinerary that suited us all. We were party of several generations including one child so it was not easy. We had two nights in lovely hotel Dar Hnini, 2 nights in camp and after we took the flight to Casablanca from one of the town in the desert. Our driver Hassan was fantastic and taking a great care of us. He was always making sure we were well. We stayed in the superior camp that had 4 tents which suited us great as we took the camp as private. The tents were large with bathroom that had running water and regular toilets. There was plenty of hot water in the morning and evenings. The tent was air conditioned but it worked only from sunset to about sunrise. What we all love was that we could see the desert from interior of the tent. Each tent had glass window in the entire front of the tent. We had visited during our stay the Main camp too for the use of the swimming pool. The highight for most of us was the camel trek. Riding camels in the Sahara is wow experience and also the dreamy sunsets each day. The food was plentiful - perhaps even too much. It was good too. They have accommodated all our meal requests. I would recommend this experience to anyone visiting Morocco.…
We had a wonderful experience at Desert Camp. We reserved 2 of the more isolated dome tents and could not be happier. We were greeted with snacks and drinks as we were waiting for dinner to be ready and served between the dunes. Through the clear front of our well equipped dome we could see the stars at night and woke up to the majestic vision of the dunes. Camel ride was awesome and we got to use their gorgeous tent pool to cool off in the heat of the day. The experience included great meals, quality food, local drums performance, sand -boarding, and the general manager even took us several times for off roading on the dunes. It was magic! We could not recommend this camp more! Best glamping ever!
Our experience was unfortunately quite different from the other reviews. Our family of four’s expectations were high because of the TripAdvisor reviews and we were disappointed. I read all the reviews about the great drivers/guides who were engaging, fun, and spoke about Moroccan culture and history. And a huge benefit of travel IMO is to experience new cultures! We did not have that at all. I suppose there was some bad luck because our original driver was unable to pick us up because his car window was broken the day before in an attempted robbery (absolutely terrible and scary)! That being said, a 5-star company would have informed us and partnered with us on an agreeable back up plan. Instead, they arranged (without telling us) for someone unexpected picked to us up in Fes. On the morning of departure, the Riad led us to a car and the driver introduced himself (he had a different name than the driver Jana had told us we would have). He then told us to get in the car and started driving without saying a word! There was a brief moment where we panicked and thought we were in the car with the wrong person/company or being taken away to be robbbed. Luckily I emailed Jana and she explained the situation. Anyway, the person who picked us up was not a guide and didn’t speak enough English for us to meaningfully engage with him. Jana told us the original guide also did not speak much English when I inquired so I am not sure we would have been better off with the original guide anyway. That being said, once we got to know him, he seemed very nice and drove safely. But it made the trip extremely long and seemingly quite different from the experiences of other reviewers. We downloaded podcasts which made the trip more tolerable. The sad part is that we were with wonderful guide and driver in Fes who had offered to take us to the dessert. Had we known about the mishap, we would have gladly accepted and I think we would have enjoyed the journey much more with a true guide. The other unlucky thing for us was that our tent's air conditioner broke at 11 pm. It was sweltering and we tried to find someone to help but no one was around. No one told us how to contact anyone. What if someone had a medical emergency in the night? Our tent also didn’t have soap which seemed odd for “luxury”. The food was ok and water was not as abundant as I would have expected for the Sahara in summer. We had to seek it out. There were positives. The Sahara is gorgeous and the morning camel ride was not just a trip highlight, but a life highlight . The pool was amazing as well and much needed to stay cool. We stopped at Dar Hnini on the way back which was out of this world . The food, service and accommodation were spectacular. Highly recommend and we will right a separate review for that. Ultimately, I would not recommend this company unless you are guaranteed one of the drivers people rave about in the other reviews. If I could do it again, I’d book with a real guide so that the journey to and from the dessert was part of the experience instead of long silent car rides.…
This was a very special part of our Morocco experience. We stayed here in July. It’s hot. Very hot. However the experience was magical and worth the trip. I definitely would not miss it! Youssef drove us in a clean and comfortable Toyota 4x4 across the desert to the camp. When we arrived, our luggage was taken to our spacious private tent and we were given water and a choice of beverages. We sat outside under a shaded area in comfortable cushioned seats to relax and take in the beautiful campsite and desert. That evening we took a private camel ride around the desert. The guide was warm and had a great sense of humor. Afterwards, we enjoyed the refreshing pool located inside a huge tent. Dinner was good and plentiful. Live music was really fun, engaging, and memorable. After dinner we sat outside and enjoyed the quietness of the desert. We slept in a king bed. The tent had air-conditioning, electricity, a toilet, and a shower. The next morning, we got up early to watch the sunrise. There were lots of comfortable areas to sit quietly and watch the changing colors of the desert. I even fell asleep on the comfortable cushions outside. It was peaceful and serene. The wonderful and attentive staff brought over coffee so we could privately enjoy the sunrise and the quietness of the desert. Aside from beauty, what made this particular camp special was the attentive, warm, friendly, and hospitable staff. I highly recommend this gem! (The owners of the camp own another place in the Atlas region called Dar Hnini. Also an incredible and special experience!)…
