Just left back to the states after another great week at West bay lodge. It was great seeing all the familiar faces, Celeste, Milos, Quincy, Melanie and others. As usual it was very relaxing. Massage at the spa was great, much better than another on the beach. There’s a local tattoo artist who gave my 53 year old wife her first ink. We stayed in our favorite bungalow #6. Air was ice cold. Had several lunches and dinners at the onsite restaurant and they were great. We kept it real low key, eating at the expanded plaza most of the time on the access road to the beach and one time in west end. It was SLOW everywhere, the beach felt deserted at times which if you like quiet was cool. Dove 5 days with bananarama and there was never more than 5 divers per trip. Reef and reef life better than I remembered. Also seems the cruise ships are retaining more of their crowds on the east side so all the craziness on cruise days isn’t as bad. Roads are improved on way to the resort. We always had the pool to ourselves. If you want a great low intensity vacation now is the time to visit WBL. I wish air was cheaper as we would double up on our trips back to WBL!

Hotel's Favorite
My husband and I recently stayed at WBL for our 13th year, and it was as wonderful or more as the first year. The grounds are beautiful, the animals are sweet and not intrusive, the Bungalows are clean, cool and comfortable. But the most significant is the staff. The owner Celeste is attentive, friendly and eager to make sure you enjoy your stay. The office staff, Melonie and Loreli are superefficient and helpful with ANYTHING you need. The kitchen staff with their leader, chef Sam, puts out plates that are delicious every time. The bartender Hiram has you covered with some of the best cocktails you'll find on the island, the mojito and painkiller watusa, are two of my favorites. And Quincy will be there each morning for your breakfast service with his contagious smile and hearty sweet laugh not to mention his great wake you up tunes. Rita in housekeeping keeps the rooms sparkling and her bungalow bouquets are worthy of a florist. For go-to help with everything from birds, luggage or hammocks we love Marco, he is such a nice guy and always ready to help. If you decide to use the spa Celeste and Tasha along with the staff have an awesome selection of treatments for a little pampering time out. And Tasha is an amazing tattoo artist if your interest lies there. We got two while we were there and they are works of art. Granted after 13 years I am a bit biased, but I also know quality lodgings from my many travels and Celeste and her staff have nailed it. The lodge is a short walk from the beach, great shopping, a very nice wine bar and many wonderful other restaurants. Do yourself a favor if your coming the West Bay and stay here, you wont regret it.More

I recently returned from my second stay at west bay lodge. I had stayed three years ago and forgotten to leave a review but I absolutely love this place!! It was so nice to return and see so many familiar faces. the accomadations are so comfortable and the employees so kind and helpful. The lodge is located just on the other side of the street from busy west bay beach. It is quiet, peaceful, and so, so lovely. I have now stayed in the same cabin twice, so I can't speak for any of the other rooms, but the beds are comfortable, the cabins are clean, there is fresh water, a kitchen where we could cook whatever and if we didn't have what we needed, all I had to do was ask. The breakfast is delicious every morning. I have recently found out that I can no longer eat wheat products and Celest was so lovely and made me a wheat-free banana bread which was absolutely delicious! Also, the menu at the restaurant is great, but one night we were asking about conch which is not on the menu. Conch is only in season part of the year so not served daily. The chef, Sam, heard us talking about it and promised to find some conch for us. The next evening, he had made a delightful dinner of conch ceviche and conch fritters and sat down and chatted with us for a good while. The bartender/waiter, Hiram, also joined us and was very helpful every evening that we ate at the restaurant. I can say with absolute certainty that I will be back to stay with these folks!

We loved West Bay Lodge. We had 5 nights at West Bay Lodge and two nights at a fancier more expensive resort and we regretted the switch. WBL was so much more cozy, private and near the local life. And Celeste’s rescue animals are so nice to have around. We miss kitty Cindy 😄 The bungalows are lovely as are the hammocks on each bungalows deck. And the food at the restaurant was amazing! And we had great massages at the spa. We will be booking with West Bay Lodge again!

This was our sixth trip to Roatan and staying at west bay lodge. We love it so much we can’t even imagine staying somewhere else. Staff is so friendly and it’s small enough that you’re just not another number. We had the bucket list snorkeling trip this year. Celeste is the best💜
